One week gone and I have read only two books so far.:(

1) Edgedancer - A novella in Stormlight Archives series and a good one at that. the main character is supposed to play a vital part in Oathbringer, the third book which I am currently reading.

2) Okay for Now - A BR with Ini and okayish YA. a new author to me. I am definitely reading more by this author.

Week 2:

finished three books, actually one of them was DNF but other two were really good.

3) this is War, Baby - A dark romance about kidnapping and selling of girls. couldn't go beyond 35%. that was sick!!

4) Oathbringer - third book in one of my favorite fantasy series, Stormlight Archives. this one was a real tome at 1200+ pages, and am sad to say that it was not as good as i wanted it to be. :( still it managed to snatch four stars from me.

5) Bad Romance: this was a real surprise. i finished it in less that 24 hours, and i am still thinking about the girl and how one turn to illusion of love when you get only abuse and hurt from your parents. and by the time she realize that this love is poison, it was too late...

Bad Romance sounds depressing. It is such a common 'story' in real life that it goes unnoticed most of the time, all players in the game accept the normalized view of abusive love, in its various forms, and quite depressingly in some cases, people believe it to be unconditional love. Parents, lovers, friends.

I usually don't read YA contemporary romance. If I am reading YA, then I go for coming-of-age. They're my favorite. And for romance I usually go for NA/adult. Emily May put this book on my radar and I was not even sure I would read this until I started this.

I like my romance books to have happily ever after. This book has a happily after but a different kind of. You're right it is depressing but it also tells how it is not always too easy to get out of an abusive relationship. On the other hand, it also tells that one must always pay attention to the signs that tells you this would not be a good thing for you.

I agree with you on how all this go unnoticed or considered normal or unconditional love and at times the also find it attractive which is sick.

Week 4:

6) A Court of Thorns and Roses
a very popular YA fantasy. read it as i was not in mood for the serious reads that are sitting on my CR now. it proved to be what i was looking for. enjoyed it. will pick the sequel soon.

7) The Cruel Prince
perhaps one of the most talked about ya fantasy of the year. i usually stay away from new releases but i caved in for this one. an okayish read.

8) The Wife Between Us
again one of the hyped books but it was absolutely meh for me.

9) Vicious
first book in the Sinners of the Saint series. a NA. liked it. also liked it sequel, Ruckus, but third book in the series, Scandalous, was a super flop for me.

10) Ruckus
11) Scandalous

12) All the Ugly and Wonderful Things
this was a weird one. a controversial subject. wanted to hate it for the first half but things changed in second half and end up liking it.

13) Burn for Me
an exciting first installment in a trilogy from one of my favorite author duo. started second part right away and i know i am going to love it.

Week 5:

14) White Hot - second book in the hidden legacy series and it was better than one. lots of action.

15) Wildfire: conclusion of hidden legacy and loved the way things ended.

16) From Lukov with Love - latest from one of my favorite author and sad to say it was just mediocre.

Week 6 & 7

17) Autoboyography - a fun lgbt about two boys. lovely book specially how it shows the contradiction between the families of these boys. where one accepts boy's sexuality with open arms, the other's was exact opposite.

18) Along for the Ride - my first Dessen and I have decided not to read another book from her. this book was a perfect summer book (but it's winter here!). boy meets girls. they dislikes each other first, then they became friends, then they fell in love and then they broke up, and then make-up. end of story. :/

19) Midnight Blue - boring and unconvincing.

20) Legend - first in trilogy. not very impressed.

21) Scenes from the Hallway - novella from Knitting in the city and had three chapters from the upcoming book. All i want is the next book right now.

22) A Court of Mist and Fury - second book in Court of Thorns and Roses series. A fast paced novel. had lots of twists and turns. A good addition to the series.

23) Providence of Fire - Second book in Unhewn Throne trilogy. I read first book back 2015. took me a lot of time to get into this story. but after that it was smooth ride.

24) Smallest Part - My third Amy Harmon and this is my least favorite of her work so far. not as good as one expect from her.

Will be reading

1) Dreamer's Pool - starting tonight. first in the series. have high hopes from this YA.

2) Eye of the World - at around 50% now, hopefully will wrap this one by Friday.

3) Prodigy - Second book in Legend.

4) Dark Hunter 1 & Elemental Assassin 1 - BRing both these books with Vidya and Jaya.

5) will continue with Broken Harbor.
