That's amazing Manu! :D :D
Will be starting Dreamer's Pool later tonight. :)

Hahaha! I know the feeling but I also know that you won't slow down, especially if you are in a challenge! ;)

Week 8 & 9
25) Broken Harbour by Tana French. I wanted to read this author since forever. this book started really strong but slogged in the middle, by the end it became just mediocre. looks i expected too much after all the glowing reviews that i found for this author on my homepage. i will still be reading one more book by her before deciding if she is for me or not.
26) Fantasy Lover - pure fluff. Will get back to this series.
27) Dreamer's Pool - my first by this author. an old school fantasy. very predictable story but i liked how the author represented it. a feel good book. needless to say i will be reading second book.
28) The Eye of the World - First book in Wheel of the Time series. this book is heavily inspired by LoTR but i liked the world. the character and the magic system. A BR with Iniya.
29) Last Mortal Bond - Final book in Unhewn throne and I DNFed it at 52%. tried very hard but with each chapter it is getting tough to go on. story is going nowhere, characters are getting more dumber. I just couldn't do it anymore. Reading became a chore than the joy i read books for. :/

Read thirteen books since my last update here.
30) Spider's web - first book in Elemental Assassin and it was a decent start to a long series. will definitely reading next book soon.
31) & 32) Prodigy & Legend - book 2 and 3 in Legend trilogy. i am thoroughly disappointed in these books. I think am done with Dystopia for a decade.
33) Marriage of Inconvenience - Book 7 (and hopefully last) in Knitting in the City series by Penny Reid. A laugh riot. I will miss these characters.
34) The Idiot - finally wrapped this one up after 14 months of starting it. A brilliant book and loved the characters, writing, and everything about it.
35) Discovery of Witches - A BR with Syl and Ini, a favorite of two of my buddies here. enjoyable but had it's flaws. will be reading second book next month.
36) Boy Meets Boy - a short and cute lgbt story.
37) Only You - Ini picked this for a weekend and it was hilarious at times, specially with a first time dad spending days taking care of his infant daughter.
38) Tower of Thorns - Second book in Blackthorn and Grim trilogy. story of main characters remained almost same but the new plot line was very good.
39) Wanderlust - DNF.
40) Beard in Mind - fourth book in Winston brothers and we get to see a complete opposite side of two leading characters. didn't like it very much. moreover, it made me miss pair from third book, am rereading their story next month.
41) Promise of Blood - first book in Powder Mage, a series that i wanted to read since eons. Mediocre read.
42) A Court of Wings and Ruin - standard SJM.

stats are telling me that I have read 19k+ pages so far, with average book length 456. :D *pats self*

19K? Whoa!! *whistle*
Kavitha wrote: "Aww...Manju...am now hesitant to pick up Promise of Blood....only mediocre? what did this book miss on your expectation?"
don't let me rating disappoint you, Kavitha. there are plenty of people who loved the book to pieces. :)
for me it was characters that ruined the fun. they're good but i didn't see any development during the story.

Gotcha! will definitely try :)
I somehow have to managed to read more than a dozen books since I last updated my reading log.. this is going to be a one long post..
43 & 44) Sins of the father and Time to Murder and Create - 3 -Book 1 & 2 in Matthew Scudder. A hard boiled noir and a very good detective. I am quite liking him and his style so far.
45-47) Hidden Legacy trilogy - 4 - what can I say, I am in love with the world and the characters.
48) The Wall of the Winnipeg and Me - 5 -I don't think I am ever getting over this book. I am just head over heels in love with this book.
49) Paper Butterflies - 3 - my first read of this kind of story. a little girl tormented by her step mother meet a boy and became friends with him. later on they fell in love but the things get more complicated at home and the girl does something unintentionally that changes the whole world of her.
50) I Stop Somewhere - 4 - a very powerful story about abduction, rape, and murder. loved it and recommended everyone.
51) Dear Martin - 3 - A short and good story about discrimination. a readable book if you don't read too many stories on this subject and if you do then you won't find anything new here.
52) Dragonskin Slippers - 4 - this book was gathering dust on bookshelf for more than two year, so decided to read it. quite an interesting story and felt like the old tales that grandmas tell their grand kids as bed time story.
53-55) Cut & Run - read first 3 books from this series so far. highly recommended by Jaya and buddy. loving the two main characters and their chemistry. will definitely read the next few books soon.
56) The Pale Horseman - 4 - Never thought i would go back to Saxon but after watching Viking last year, i had to read it and i am glad i did because i loved it.
57) Reaper - 3 - a mafia romance with a broken hero. okayish.
58) Forbidden - 4 - Syl's recommendation and a BR with Ini. story revolves around incest and i so wanted to hate it but just couldn't.
59) Love and Other words - 3 - a lovely story about second chances.
60-61) Transcend and Epoch - a duology about rebirth. first book was really good but second book did not work for me.
62-63) Brigertons 1 & 2 - 3 - Ini and I mostly read a romance on weekends and these two books were where we started. both were fun and very enjoyable reads.
64) The Crimson Campaign - 4 - Second book in Powder Mage trilogy and surprisingly it was better than first. full of action and lot of character development, this book has me expecting a bit too much from the finale.
65) City of Stairs - 4 - first book in Divine cities. Liked the premise, characters and magic system.
66-67) Playing with Monsters 1 & 2 - first one was okayish. second was DNFed.

had written this on my review of Tom Sawyer earlier in reply to Arpit but that place is too public...
hence writing it here as this is my personal space and not many people pay attention to my gibberish;)
(view spoiler)
now as for why i am writing it at this moment? because i am too lazy to write it again...

68) Den of Wolves - Final book in Blackthorn and Grim trilogy and I was disappointed because this was awfully predictable and things were rushed in the end.
69) Burn for You - a light romance.
70) God Shaped Hole - my first chick-lit in years... a heartfelt and sad story.
71) Vlad - a mafia romance and i hated it.
72) Words of Radiance - my third read and won the race by defeating Harry. don't know if is still reading it. and for the book it was MAGNIFICENT!!
73-74) some billionaire romance... forgot name. :| and they are not worth mentioning
75) Monkey's Raincoat - first book in Elvis Cole, a detective series. started very good but got slow and too twisted in the end.
76) Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Arpit's recommendation and just say I am not a fan..
phew!! finally brought my reading log up to date.... :D

am thinking of removing one star..."
yes I read.. and Have responded in booketeers thread.. you will remove one star just for that prank of tom :-O..!!!!
well he ran away twice. was ready to attend his own funeral and he was convincing other kids to run away with him... and when they wanted to return home, he discouraged them by telling a new story...
not so sure about removing one star... i might or might not. :P
not so sure about removing one star... i might or might not. :P

He didn't understand the consequences.. As you can see throughout the book, he has a habit of over-reacting.. When his aunt scolded him wrongly, he got too overwhelmed and hastily decided to get away from home.. That doesn't completely justify his action but.. I don't want to justify it, but he wanted to create a show of returning. Thats what I understand.. He is a pompous kid :-P too much show-offs ;-)
