Just completed the second book in the Darkest Minds series - Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken. I had a difficult time with this book. I really enjoyed the first book, but this second book felt forced to me. I struggled to remember why I liked the characters and cared about them. It brightened a bit toward the end. More questions than answers for sure. Worth reading for the entirety of the trilogy. 3.5 stars

Thank you Maria! I really enjoyed Red Queen as well. I can't wait to get on to the rest of the series. They're always checked out at my local library, though. I think the Dublin Murder Series is promising, but I couldn't stand the main character and the resolution to the murder was a little predictable. I'm really hoping the rest of the series will step up.

I have finished Ed McBain"s Ax. book 18 of the 87th Precinct series. I have read many books from this series, but several years ago I decided to read them in the order the were written. Only 37 more to go.

If you are a historical fiction buff, read this. It is excellent. It is also one of the 17 new series I said I would start in 2018.
