BR Josy and Simone
...this isn't a good thing to say... but I kind of wish Desheriyev hadn't missed. The world would be better if Vasiliev were gone.Sad, but true. And this might also apply to reality... *cough*
68%The sad and scary thing is that I can totally imagine the U.S. (or any other powerful country) doing exactly that...

I'm at 68% too, but our percentages are sometimes messed up. Do you mean the disappearance of witnesses?
Hello Simone, Karen and Josy.It seems you all have a pretty good day so far. And our 2 readers having a good time.
Oh and you had a glimpse at Kris : I guess you understand now why I'm waiting for his story, LOL !!
Anyway, keep going and will pop up later !!
Simone wrote: "I'm at 68% too, but our percentages are sometimes messed up. Do you mean the disappearance of witnesses? up. ..."Yup, I meant exactly that!

Hi, Christelle :)
Yes, I think we are doing great! And we got more than a glimpse of Kris already and I think we are both excited for his book :)
Simone wrote: "Hmmm, I always thought it would be the other way round? That Tom's job complicates things?"LOL! Yeah, I read this twice to know who was speaking :)
I guess it's a combination of both their jobs :)
Josy wrote: "I'm starting chapter 32 now.We are slowly getting closer to the dreaded 75% mark..."
Me too.

You know more than I do. LOL. What's at 75%?
Josy wrote: "LOL! In most books, around 75% it all goes to shit ;) I'm guessing [spoilers removed]"Ahhh... LOL. I thought you had inside info. ;-)
I'm eating dinner now and might go silent for a while, but when I get back from the kitchen I'm reading. ;-)
Josy wrote: "LOL! No :)I don't even read blurbs! How do you expect me to have inside info? ;)"
Hehehe! I don't know all of your informants. LOL
Simone wrote: "I'm eating dinner now and might go silent for a while, but when I get back from the kitchen I'm reading. ;-)"Enjyo your dinner!!

Thank you! :) I'm back and probably behind you now. I had to clean my dishes before Jimmy licks them clean. ;-) They just arrived at the courtroom. :)
OMG!! I feel like I'm watching a movie, lol! Both men made very good cases. I don't envy the jurors at all!

Hi Cristelle, I hope you're also having a good day and yes, it looks like things are going well for our BR ladies. I'm definitely going to have to get myself into this book...so many books so little time...the burden we all bear.
Josy wrote: "OMG!! I feel like I'm watching a movie, lol! Both men made very good cases. I don't envy the jurors at all!"
Me neither. LOL. Just got to the break after both representing their cases. :)

Karen wrote: "I'm definitely going to have to get myself into this book...so many books so little time...the burden we all bear...."You really need to :)
If only the days had more than 24 hours, lol!
Josy wrote: "I'm at 72% and they are watching the video. I'm going to eat dinner now but I will be back later :)"Okay, I already though you were finished. LOL. Just read this too and now the medical examiner is in the witness stand. But you are reading, right? Or should I wait for you?
Enjoy your dinner! :)
Josy wrote: "No, keep reading! I'm still at the video footage but I will continue reading now :)"Okay. :)
Josy wrote: "I'm back and they are back in the courtroom after lunch."I'm only a few pages ahead of you. :)
If they were so careful, and switched cell phones for every message, why did my client suddenly text detailed plans of the operation from his own cell phone to Desheriyev?"He has a point there. Well played. :)
I always wonder when I hear or read this:"Jurors, please treat that last exchange as if it never happened."
That's just not possible and that's exactly why they ask these questions. Even if the jurors are directed to do so, they won't forget it.

No they won't, but they can't use it in their assessment, as a fact.
Josy wrote: "Even to me the so-called evidence is fishy and some things just don't make any sense."Wait until you get to Renner taking Barnes statement apart... He does his job pretty well. :)
Simone wrote: "No they won't, but they can't use it in their assessment, as a fact...."Yes, in theory. But I still think it influences them and can make them question certain things.

I'm just starting to read this :)
"We don't know how they initially made contact, or how Mr. Kryukov knew how to reach out to Mr. Desheriyev...Now that's what I call sloppy research.
Josy wrote: "Ohhh, Renner is great!!Maybe I shouldn't be so pleased with this but I am, lol!"
LOL. He is a bit too slick for my liking, but he does a great job so far, yes. :)
Are you saying that the FBI was stumped by an amateur?LOL!! Oh, I really like him :)
edit: I almost feel sorry for Barnes and Ballard.
