True. It's the same for me. In general, I mean, But it's not the first time my rating was lower in the end because of a public declaration. I really liked the other book (Full Throttle) until it ended into a soap opera because of it. :(

I don't check Goodreads often these days because I was told it's a readers' space and I'm respecting that. But once in a while, I do take a glance, and it was so nice to see new, lovely reviews for my debut novel. And yes, I also appreciate the low-star reviews and DNFs. I knew even before writing the first word of this book that it was a 'love or hate' book. I have no hard feelings whatsoever for low-star reviews or DNFs.

Yep, you guessed right that its first incarnation was a Coulson/Hawkeye story. *grin* But I will also say, I only kept their physical appearances, a few character traits I'm fond of and built almost everything else from scratch for the book. Chalk it up to sentimentality. I really wanted MCs who didn't look like typical M/M guys, like Cole balding and Clyde with a honker.

Thank you again for taking the time to read Memento Amare. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. :)
