Martine | 1 comments The Night Circus has twins: Poppet and Widget. Loved this book!

message 52: by Nat (last edited Nov 11, 2017 01:56PM) (new)

Nat I would agree with Harry Potter (Fred/George and Padma/Pavarti), could work with a lot of other prompts for a reread-marathon.
Also, The Foxhole Court features twins prominently, but that book might not be for everyone!

Edit: I just remembered! Erich Kästners Das Doppelte Lottchen, which was the basis for the Lindsey Lohan movie about the twins! Wonderful childrens book. I'm also fairly sure that the Pretty Little Liars prequel features twins.

Patricia I think I’ll go with Cutting for Stone since I just recently bought it at our local library’s book sale.

message 54: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 731 comments I’ve been rereading the Thrawn trilogy and since there is no way I’ll be done with that this year, I may count one of those (I used to restrict myself to books I’d never read before but since I’m doing more and more challenges, I’ve decided rereads are fine.)

But most of the Star Wars Legends books would fit.

Megan | 361 comments The Silent Twin is my choice.

Jessica Tack | 31 comments Geek Love has conjoined twins.

The Bad Place has some reaaalllllyyy creepy twins.

Amanda Eckler | 31 comments I have this book on my "to read" shelf but hadn't previously realized that the protagonists are twins: The Far Away Brothers: Two Young Migrants and the Making of an American Life by Lauren Markham

Jess Penhallow | 427 comments I really enjoyed The Ice Twins

message 59: by Naina (last edited Nov 13, 2017 07:38AM) (new)

Naina (naynay55) | 113 comments I have The Nest on my Kindle, so I think I'll be reading this. This year, I read The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand and really enjoyed it.

I also read Pieces of My Sister's Life, which also has identical twins, but was not the biggest fan of that book. Some people have given the book stellar reviews, though.

message 60: by Cindy H. (new)

Cindy H. | 30 comments Sisterland Not the best Book I ever read but it features twins....if I remember correctly

message 61: by Mo (new)

Mo Smith (moreadsbooks) | 25 comments The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand would work for this.

message 63: by MissLemon (new)

MissLemon | 3 comments The Girls is about co joined twins and is a fabulous book

message 64: by Jette (new)

Jette I read Fangirl for the 2017 Advanced Challenge prompt "A book from a genre/subgenre you've never heard of". It was metafiction and the main character was a twin. Her relationship with her sister as they adjusted to college life was a prominent subplot.

Wendy (wendyneedsbooks) | 131 comments I was checking the Boxall's 1001 books to read before you die list, and the following books feature twins:

Wise Children by Angela Carter
On The Black Hill by Bruce Chatwin
The Twins by Tessa de Loo

This is what I was going to read but then I realized The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer also has twins. So now I have to figure out how to read both!

message 67: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 1 comments Cutting for Stone is excellent book, and I enjoyed The Night Circus as well. I was recently reminded that Game of Thrones has twins too.

That’s awesome. The first two are at my library.

Heather vonReichbauer | 11 comments Michelle wrote: "I Know This Much Is True - by Wally Lamb is an incredible story!! One of my all time favorites."

I was also going to suggest that and it also deals with mental illness.

message 73: by Edie (new)

Edie | 60 comments The Thirteenth Tale I read this for another challenge this year and loved it. Twins are at the heart of this gothic mystery.

message 74: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 21 comments All sci-fi/fantasy suggestions from me...

Jaime and Cersei Lannister, in the George R.R. Martin A Song of Fire and Ice series (Game of Thrones) would work.
As would reading any Star Wars novels with Luke and Leia, or Leia and Han's children Jacen and Jaida (phew, this could practically also count for the alliteration prompt). e.g. Heirs of the Force.
Sandy and Dennys Murry from Madeleine L'Engle A Wrinkle in Time series; they feature most prominently in the oft-overlooked Many Waters.
Alanna and Thom in the Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce.

I may try Blood of Aenarion by William King, or Glory Season by David Brin.

message 75: by Jess (last edited Nov 27, 2017 03:48AM) (new)

Jess Penhallow | 427 comments I'm going with The Watcher. It's tentative because the twin is dead but I'm sure she has a big influence on the protagonist and the story.

message 76: by Veruca Salt (new)

Veruca Salt (mynameischrista) I’m going with Sisterland by Curtis Sittenfeld. It’s been on my TBR for awhile.

message 77: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Trying to cut down on my to-read shelf so I’m reading Cutting for Stone. Bought at a library sale about 6 months ago for $1.75.

And it fits the lyrics category! It appears to cover off quite a few categories and it is an awesome book.

message 79: by Tricia (new)

Tricia | 126 comments The Alchemyst series fits these categories.

StefanieFrei | 83 comments Golding: Lord of the Flies has twins in it...('Sam'n'Eric')
Lots of Enid Blyton's series do have twins in it (St Clare's - series which in German is "Hanni + Nanni")
For German language: Andreas Löffler: Der Näher (Thriller), very topical.
Judith Krantz: Princess Daisy...80's?
Tess Gerritson: Rizzoli + Isles #4: Body Double (German: Schwesternmord)

Robyn Hendrix | 19 comments The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.

message 87: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Webb | 16 comments This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel

The twins are part of the family that the book revolves around. They are not main characters but in my opinion the family as a whole is the protagonist so this works.

message 88: by Megan (new)

Megan Marvin (megslouise17) | 17 comments The Bush twins recently released a book about their lives growing up in the white house called Sisters First: Stories from Our Wild and Wonderful Life if you are looking for something nonfiction

Emily | 3 comments Not sure if anyone's recommended it already but Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire has twins!

message 100: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Boldman | 1 comments I just finished Karolina’s Twins by Ronald Balson. I would not have picked this book on my own. But it was a great read with compelling narrative. This is the first prompt I’ve finished for the 2018 challenge.
