message 4701: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Morning, mateys! Off to the post soon, then a diversion to the farm for some of their hime-made sausages.

After - some reviews.

message 4702: by L.A. (new)

L.A. Kent | 3925 comments Never tried making them them with hime lol.

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Morning, I think...

k has finally been seen by a consultant, who has ordered her transfer to a specialist coronory care unit for more investigations. But he has said that her thyroid has stopped working (underactive) in the last year and that could be a factor in her problems

message 4705: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments You make them with hime when you haven't got your glasses on. I should know by now!

Well shit.

Good she's getting proper care, though.

message 4707: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I hope they get somewhere soon, Will.
Tomorrow morning I have a meeting with the fire officer about these teddies of which I now have three dozen.

I love that. I know it by heart and used to sing it to my son the way other people sang nursery rhymes! (no wonder he's nuts).

Think of me tomorrow am. I have a funeral in Guildford at 10 am. 6 am start required. I shall be there by 8 am but if I leave at 6.15 I shall not be there until 10.30. Such are the vaguaries of rush hour traffic - I used to commute to Heathrow.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments Well, my right heel is still sore, so have put my boots on as they have gel insoles in, and my new support sock, still shuffling round the place though!! Neighbours lodger came over last night asking questions about my Echo Dot, am getting a second one now – shame I don’t like audio books, discovered last night it can read
some of my kindle books to me!!

Sorry that K has to have more tests, fingers crossed they get to the bottom of it Will. That's lovely Kath.

Blimey Will, at least it sounds as if you are getting somewhere now. Poor K. Best wishes, crossed fingers etc to both of you.

glad you both seem to be getting somewhere Will.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments Morning all, sun is trying to shine. Hectic day, food shopping after work, then picking up a donation for the charity.

Hope you get some news Will.

message 4720: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Or chopped prose, as we used to call it.
Morning. Off soon to meet my fireman. You know how you get an idea in your head? I picture him coming up to retirement, dealing with the public because he can't manage to carry a ladder now. Or maybe he's young and hunky? Yeah, right!
I'll let you know. :)

message 4721: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Fingers crossed for young and hunky! We all need a few pleasures in life

Morning!

Back-to-back meetings from 10-1. Yuck

message 4722: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning all. Laying in supplies for the weekend (and Eurovision) once I escape work.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Last day at ‘work’ for me yippeeeeeeeeee!
Just read in the Nice matin an old lady died overnight after a huge cactus fell on her and other people in Monaco yesterday. Killer Cactus indeed. Have a good day all.

message 4724: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments No news is good news hey say: but it is also no news. Nothing can happen for K now until she gets transferred, and there is no sign of a bed becoming available in the ohter hospital yet

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Is K going to Morriston. My friend’s son worked there in coronary care. It’s got a good reputation for care.

message 4726: by L.A. (new)

L.A. Kent | 3925 comments Morning alls. Just back from the veg supplier up the road and I'm glad to see he's getting more and more veg out again as well as V large and v cheap free range eggs, Over winter he had decided to quit because people were underpaying into the honesty box! He must have caught the culprits or they quit underpaying because of the guilt. (seems unlikely I know!)

That's the plan, Lynne. The good news so far though is that the scans have shown no present heart damage.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments Sorry that there is no sign of a bed coming available for K Will.

Sun has completely disappeared. My replacement coffee syrup came yesterday, still got a use by date of June 18!! I did open it this morning, was very yummy – they didn’t send the return label for the first bottle either, so think I’ll wait for them to contact me.

message 4729: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Fireman around 50 - that's young to me! He was wildly enthusiastic and is using them in conjuction with the victim support units (I think that was the term) in that station and one on the south bank of the Humber. He was just going to trial them there but went into overdrive when he saw there were three dozen there. Result. They're going to get their publicity people on it next. Oo-er!

Remember the press release about these Teddies has to start

"Best Selling Author, Kath..........

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Very exciting, ‘best selling author’ Kath!

Poor K, Will I hope you are keeping her well supplied with reading material. Hospital stays are one of the most tedious experiences known.

message 4735: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments K had her kindle, Rosemary. Perhaps the best feature of ebooks!

However, the consultant has taken pity on her and let her out with certain meds and an outpatients appointment for an angiogram next week

Thanks, Anita! Just seen this. I've got so much else on at the moment, that I've had to shelve the paperback, but I'm nearly there with the first one.

Also, I'm puzzled about Kath and teddies and firemen... I've missed something somewhere. Again.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Pleased to hear that Will

message 4738: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Anna, I found something on Facebook about Trauma Teddies, knitted by volunteers (me) and given by firefighters or police officers to children in dire circumstances. They get to keep them, of course. A friend and I contacted the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service because her husband is a retired firefighter. The publicity will encourage knitters to join in. Easy pattern, found online and improved by me.

message 4739: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments I'm back! bet you never even knew I'd gone!

Kath, "Best selling author knits a great yarn, in more ways than one ....." Well done you!

Will, thankful that K is home and hope that all goes well with the appointment.

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Great work Kath!!

message 4741: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments Good to see K is home, Will.

And Kath - you knit as well? Do you ever sleep? Well done, you! These things make the world a better place.

message 4742: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It's an easy pattern so I can knit and read at the same time. Double hobbies!

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Morning all, a glorious sunny morning here and it rained overnight - a perfect combination for gardeners! :)

message 4744: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Morning all,

Dexter slept until 7:30!!!!!!! It's amazing!

We took him to a petting zoo yesterday and then to see his aunties. It was a great day out.

Hope all are well

message 4745: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments Hmmmm - looks like it'll be raining soon.

Glad you guys had a good night's sleep, Lindsay. The excitement of the petting zoo and the aunties' attention must have tired out Dexter.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments Urgh, morning - had to take a sleeping tablet at 3.30, heard my neighbour leave at 6, and was awake before my alarm at 7.15. Fundraising this morning, then housework, although may need a nap.

Glad K has been discharged Will. Glad the teddies have been appreciated Kath. Nice to see you back Kelly. Glad you are having such a good time Lindsay.

message 4747: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments Good morning! So far so good. And, Lindsay, I remember those occasional days. At last a proper sleep, long may it continue.

message 4748: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Dave and I have been beavering away, doing what I think was the last bits of sorting.

Put the last of our bits up for sale. Only about a dozen items, so that's okay.

message 4749: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth White | 1761 comments Morning everyone.

The sun's shining in an encouraging fashion although I think we may have had a mild frost earlier on.

I let my car go yesterday and am still feeling pangs of guilt at the disposal of a long-time companion.

That's great news about the teddies, Kath - if all the knitters in the UK produced just one...

Good that K is out before the weekend, Will. Hopefully this will just be a minor blip.

How are you going to wear Dexter out today, Lindsay?

message 4750: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning, all. Beautiful day out.

Glad to hear about K, Will. And sounds very promising, Kath.
