I've been there twice and am in love with it. I go there to volunteer in the jungle to work with a charity assisting wild cats and other animals that have been abused and mistreated. Would honestly love to do that the rest of my life although my wife is not entirely on board...

I’m out of breath. My big adventure today (Tesco delivery) came much earlier than expected. Soaking wet from shower and hair wash and in the nuddy when I saw the top of the van. Luckily OH was just back from getting soaked with the dog walk I grabbed clothes and had to go back and put them on the right way when the Tesco man had gone. Jumper back to front and trouser should inside out but nobody noticed. I’m glad not to got out shopping in this. I wouldn’t be able to open my car doors safely in this gale. It’s supposed to be up to 70 mph later tonight.

Afternoon, mouth isn't as sore as I expected, I slept through as it wasn't sore to lie on, and only hurts when I move and talk (neither of which I have to do much of working from home) so will go for my covid jab - I wanted to walk there (only a 10 min walk) but neighbour was horrified at that idea being it's rather wet and windy, and she want's chinese for tea, so we can go to the chinese via the vaccination centre.

Wonderful! Will be my third time at the camp. Wrote a novel detailing my first trip. Just never experienced anything like it.

Well, while the vaccination centre was well organised when you got in, it did take 20 mins of queuing to get in, and of course my neighbour took me early. Luckily as I wasn't driving, I didn't have to wait 15 mins after. Arm was very sore after, not as sore this morning, but I am tired, headachy and achy - although the wind woke me up at 5am, so the tired and headachy might have happened anyway. Luckily I don't have a lot on today and am working from home, not sure I'd have managed in the office, as my mouth is also really sore today. Rain has stopped since we had hail, but still windy.

Glad you got through the beginning of the process. Don't worry is you're under the weather for a few days. The stress of being unvaccinated starts to drop, and you get on with a bunch of things that weren't moving.

I've just had the Pfizer vaccine and shortly after I had a slight headache and fatigue. The fatigue meant I slept most of one day and all night and couldn't manage more than a potter/sleep/potter few days to follow. It goes. Phew! I realized that the real thing would be absolutely awful. Hang on in there, Desley.

Afternoon, not as achy, but drained, lightheaded and keep feeling sick - although not sure how much of that is not eating as much due to my mouth. I was supposed to be doing food shopping after work, but that would have meant 4 shops between me and my neighbour, and I don't think I'd manage that. Will have to go to the local shop though, not sure I've got enough salt in the house for my mouth rinses, as I use flavoured salt normally and I don't think that's what they meant!!

I hope your fatigue lifts soon Desley, is that your first vaccine? I'm due my second in a couple of weeks. I'll be glad to have it done with.

I'm on a Health Visiting Placement just now and it is making me so broody, I want another baby :o) Not sure if Gareth would be on board with that idea though!

I read "Boliva" and thought "Bulgaria" so I was very confused by the Amazon and Big Cat references until the penny dropped. I get it now though so there is hope.

Morning, my arm is the sorest it's been today, and I had a sore throat and runny nose when I woke up. Plus my eye is feeling a bit uncomfortable. So think for the first time, I'll give my walk a miss, seeing as it's currently hailstoning and windy. I will go to the coffee shop for hot choc and cake though, it's the first time this year they've been able to open, so I want to support them. Luckily I don't have much to do, although changing the litter trays might be interesting with my sore arm.

Morning, I did manage to get cake yesterday - the Amazon delivery was taking it's time, but then I heard one of the neighbours chopping wood, so I asked him to stay outside for 5 mins while I nipped round to the coffee shop, he said yes and asked if I could get him a bottle of milk, couldn't really say no to that! Feel drained, but that might be my normal level, I'll find out when I do my Sunday chores. Sun is trying to shine though, which is nice after yesterday's weather.

It's vile here now but it was lovely this morning. Went to church for the first time in ages and discovered to my joy that they wanted us to sing (a handful of us stand at the back and do this). So I got to sing two belting hymns, one was different words to a tune I know and the other was Now Thank We All Our God - from a period when the Germans really knew how to write a tub thumping tune. This afternoon did some digging and trimming in the garden and got the detector out. Found a really knackered bag seal and a button.

Morning all. What a strange set of weather conditions we've been having. A couple of days back an ancient beech tree in the churchyard blew down. It landed on the roof and conservatory of an adjacent bungalow. The lady of the house has CCTV which showed her hanging out her washing five minutes before. Then the cables were ripped out as the tree landed. Debate currently is - was the tree and its damage an 'act of God', or the fact that the householder survived.
Glad to report it's pleasantly wind-free here now.

Blimey! Jud said it but that sounds like a narrow squeak. I remember during the hurricane of 86 a tree blew down in my parent's garden and landed on the roof of next door's bungalow. Luckily though, the lower branches held it up so it was just resting on the roof rather than full on crushing it! A lovely old lady lived there and it was directly above her bedroom roof, she said she dreamt she was being strangled!

Definitely a bit of providence involved there though I reckon!

In Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey a while back the same thing happened to a neighbor's tree - and our roof! The branches kept it from breaking through the roof, but I was rather annoyed at how long it took them to come remove their tree.

It just occurred to me: he was an FBI agent - maybe he was busy.

Evening - still got fatigue, although managed to have a hectic day!! We have a new contactless thermometer at work, it said 32.5 this morning, so I said to my boss we have to worry about hypothermia rather than a high temp!! He said 'you normally run cold don't you?'!! Rang the eye ward as my eye was uncomfortable and they hadn't made my follow up app, so they got me in at 5.30, although the doc had an emergency, so took an hour to be seen, he was impressed at how clear my eye was, so thinks the uncomfortableness is because the surface of my eye is dry, so have to increase my dry eye drops, and hope that helps the swelling (although ironically I have found out recently that a warm tea bag helps - internet says the caffeine in it helps swelling - I only do it at weekend when I'm laid in bed watching TV with a cup of tea), between my lunch break and after the hospital, I've managed most of the shopping I wanted last Fri. I had a new colleague start today, did feel guilty leaving at lunch - he has 5 poodles!! Apparently his wife likes collecting them, but they are all neutered, I did assume she was breeding them.

My husband shares the dry-eye problem - I'll tell him about the teabag solution. He's currently using some expensive proprietary preparation - wondering if he's going to need it forever.

So far an old trick - squeezing my eyes tightly 10-12 times - loosens up the tear ducts and moisturizes my eyes. I don't know if it will work forever, either.

I'm liking the desk element of this Health Visiting malarkey, shame it finishes on Friday and we have tomorrow off for St Paddy's. Love a day off but it means I'm going to be down on my hours so I'll have to make them up at some point.

Got an exam next Tuesday and an essay due on the following Friday and we've just been told to have a presentation ready for one of our tutorials as well. I think they are trying to weed us out through high blood pressure.

I did buy a heated eye mask last year Alicia that said to put that on for 5 mins then gently massage your eye to loosen tear ducts, so maybe my tea bags have a similar effect!

Nice sunny day, I should have been taking Lucy to the vets after work, but they rang at 3.30 to cancel - it was quite apt actually, although I didn't tell her, she was under the bed when they rang and I was wondering how on earth I was going to get her out!! We have had Chinese for tea, so that has made Lucy happy. Forgot to mention, when I went for my eye, he said that as it was looking so clear now, I could have my final check up as a telephone consultation - when I gave it to the receptionist, she looked at it and said that she finds telephone consults very dissatisfying!! I told her what the dentist said about mine.

Exactly so. I was talking to one of the churchwardens just afterwards. We were saying we're all fed up because every day's the same - and then the day that's different takes that to ridiculous levels. Makes you careful what you wish for.

Morning - am off tomorrow, so today is my Fri, I was supposed to have a 9am meeting, but my boss got hijacked, so it started late, I hate when you don't have a timescale to know what you can and can't do. Friend is supposed to be coming after work to collect her parcel, will only be the second time I've seen her this year, hopefully that will change now the weather is improving.

Unfortunately Alicia, I suspect it will be telephone consultation like my dental one, and they can't see anything on a telephone call! Plus to assess my eye, they need to put a dye in and peer through a special lamp, so impossible even with a video call

Weather is brightening up this week so I'm starting to look at things to do with the National Trust. I'm still a member but I couldn't tell you when I last went to any sites. Seems to be a good few print offs though so might get those and just go to more local places to entertain the kids.

Had 1 appointment today with the Health Visitor, just sitting in the office now trying to get some work done.

Phone consultations with the dentist seem to be a bit pointless!

Being classed as unskilled labour all I got was a dustbin, broom and ‘big hands’. I’m knackered, I picked up all the cuttings and leaves from the beech hedge trimming . My back was screaming, but a pizza and two double gins has worked magic. At least it’s only an annual occasion thank goodness.

We had spring for a couple of hours but it disappeared sometime over lunch yesterday. Usual story here now, rain and a north wind. Temperature about 40 farenheit, wind chill makes the Real Feel just above freezing. It is getting very, very old, this.

Was dreading today's dentist visit - had to have a crown reglued - but it went rather well, and I'm glad it's past. Totally wiped out - ME doesn't allow for things like that without taking all your energy for several days - but it's over, it will probably stay glued for another thirty years, and I can stop worrying. Plus he found and fixed a tiny problem I didn't even know I had - got a bit of root out - so he probably dealt with the source of a recurring sore spot.

In an hour, and they fit me in at a convenient time so the Medvan could take me. I have left a good review.

I had a dream about having another one - glad I can't fulfill it, if dreams are supposed to be unfulfilled wishes. The retirement community probably wouldn't like it. Be careful to know what you want.
