Might have a dollop of prosecco in my orange juice, too. ;)
Gonna make a dead posh salami, goat cheese and pesto on ciabatta for our lunch now...

I won't be online much tomorrow, so Merry Yuletide/Christmas/Saturnalia to you all in advance.

Our little grandson had another croup attack in the early hours. The paramedics were amazing, the prospect of a 35 mile trip to hospital with daddy following in the car wasn’t a good one but they did wonders and he’s feeling much better, still got a high temperature and emergency doctors number on speed dial.
Daughter heard her friend had a Caesarian the night before at 8 pm they asked her to leave at 5 this morning. They needed the bed. Imagine - her husband had just got home and had to come back to collect her and the newborn - my disgust at our health service in this part of the world gets bigger everyday. 35 miles is no joke on our roads. Not even dual carriageways for most of it. Not to mention the fact that after a Caesar they shouldn’t kick you out - sorry, discharge a patient so quickly,

So glad your little grandson is feeling better. xxx

That's shocking about your daughters friend Lynne. Glad your grandson is better, do hope he doesn't have another attack.

I hope you enjoy some fun times and some quiet times with those you care about and I hope you get some special food too. And chocolates.
Safe travelling everyone.

That same hospital told my daughter when she rang to say her waters had gone and she was due for a Caesarian due to complications, that they were full! I shouted to her and said tell them so are you! Full to bursting, They admitted her with reluctance and her baby was born not long afterwards. It’s really bad and not obvious quite how bad it is.

Cheers
MTM

I'm on night shift tonight but I'm skyping home to open presents and then going to my aunt's for Christmas dinner :)
Hope everyone has a fantastic day xxx

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and a healthy and happy 2019.
You all deserve the best!

And topping up my mimosa every time I get up...

Good. That's the only thing to do with them. Then throw them away.

Anyone know where o could get some?
And what sort of mixer would go with it?

I’ve had it as a cocktail with fizz ( a la kir royale) or it’s good with both ginger ale or ginger beer and a slice of lime. Think most supermarkets should have some - Edinburgh Gin do it and so do Whitley Neill.
I’ve had a different wine with each course today so probably won’t be having any gin :)

What a lovely Christmas tradition, Desley. Cat cuddling.

You are so accomplished, Kath! I always wanted to learn to make puff pastry from scratch - and never did get around to it, and now the marble slab has been donated before we moved, and I likely never will. Hope it's wonderful.

Normally sold with ginger ale

It is, I have come back bruised from the staffy who said hello as I was leaving! Finished your blog post earlier, love your attitude

Wow, better not tell my cats, they havent had their chicken yet. I've had violet gin, pink gin and creme brulee liquer, plus a bit of vanilla liquer cream

Optimism keeps breaking out. More than fiction, but even that has been getting a bit of time.
Some mornings I have to drag the optimism out by the scruff of the neck from wherever it's hiding, but it needs doing. The opposite would be to make my husband have to put up with my moods, which I will not do. Fortunately, I get better with practice.

Having a positive mental attitude helps a lot. While nowhere near on the same scale, some of your comments gave me food for thought with me having a lifestyle change

I can only hold one thought in mind, so it's up to me to pick the one which will help the most. It has become a good habit. It takes a beating sometimes.

Wow, that sounds amazing. I did rustle up some 15 year old Glenlivet in the Black Friday sale - I used a refund I had to bring it down to my budget. It was Heaven! Did the cats enjoy their chicken?

Thanks for the heads up! We are going buying Beefeater strawberry gin today

Only 364 days until Christmas!"

Yup, the countdown begins...

Wow, better..."
Sadly, the 'fosters' weren't keen on the food, treats or chicken. One of their beds doesn't fit and they are ignoring the other one and their new toy! Typical cats

Sounds lovely, maybe just on the rocks with a ittle fizzy water?

I'm glad its all over Patti. Sounds a very good habit Alicia

I'm making palmiers to have on Christmas morning with prosecco. I like to make the puff pastry the traditional way with the rolling, folding and chilling. And real butter. The filling this time will be streaky bacon and goats cheese.
Merry Christmas to all!
