Out for lunch with the village ladies today but first, some faffing with fabric!

This morning went off much better than I could have hoped. Kitty was a nightmare in the house getting ready and even in the car on the way to the childminders but as soon as we got there she was happy as Larry and completely settled. Nathan was the opposite! I was in work for 9.30 which is fantastic. I can manage a 9.30 start 2 days a week. We even made it to GB with only a slight delay due to not being able to find her tunic,no idea what I've done with it.
Glad you got all your writing back Alicia!
I don't see Tim's mojo around here but I'll keep an eye out.
Keep safe in the weather everyone, it's rather unpleasant here.

Is the lack of admin a cultural thing. Some are much more relaxed than others. For example the French and Italians in traffic hahahahaha.

Enjoyed your latest blog post Alicia. Enjoy having your ears syringed MT

Is all well with everyone?
Second day drop off with the childminder was a dream. I thought it would be worse than yesterday because the kids would know what was coming but they both went quite happily. Woohoo!
Trains are still delayed due to the weather despite the weather being lovely today, not as delayed as they were on the way home yesterday, I was waiting in Belfast for an hour before getting a train home. I didn't mind, it was bonus reading time.

I turn my back and everything starts to improve for people. I might stay away more!
Anyway glad things are looking up for so many

Just don't bring the s*!t with you this time, Jim. Leave it on the farm where it belongs! ;o)

I was given a string of jasmine flowers to put in my hair this evening.
Lovely gift.
Shame they STINK!

Thanks, Desley. It was hard to even begin to summarize what has been one of the most exhausting - and ultimately boring - periods of my life. So many good pieces (memories revived right before discarding something that would trigger stories of interest only to the participants) and so many hours of just slogging through what had to be done.
Hate to give up memory triggers, but there were so many of them. I always planned to write an autobiography - for myself.
But life goes on creating new memories while you're trying to hang onto the old.

Having said that, I am contemplating bringing one or two bits back at Christmas to decorate the new place. Photos we had printed on foamboard in Baku, most likely.
It is nice to have tangible evidence of memories, sometimes.
FRIDAY!!!!!
I'd like to spend the weekend in bed with my kindle but we're shopping tonight and tomorrow. Then gotta clean the apt cuz I've still not found a housekeeper, then a party Saturday night, then cooking on Sunday cuz we're having the lads round to eat chili and watch Game of Thrones. Tim, the science teacher, as never seen it before!
We watched the first one and a half episodes last Sunday, until the power went out.
Nice way to spend a Sunday evening.

Sounds a good weekend Patti

Off to friend's for our haircut and lunch date.

Glad to hear about your house sale, Will.

It's Friday, Yay!
Sounds like a lovely weekend, Patti, cleaning aside. We have no plans, as ever.
Heading out for a work thing tonight for an hour or two.

But i've read the books the author read :-)

I've read those too, I think...
packing stuff now for the Narberth Book Fair, tomorrow. It's going to be wet, so all the crowds at the Narberth Food Fair will be driven under cover (hopefully)

Alicia and Will congrats on moves. Alicia, even more congrats on throwing stuff away, our house is rammed with stuff I should get rid of. It’s well windy here, the sort of wind that slows you up on a bike to the point where you have to pedal down hill if it’s into the wind because otherwise it blows you to a stop!
Feeling smug because I’ve just fitted a new loo seat but it isn’t very good so I suspect it will fall off very quickly.
Will jealous of you looking at the sea. I moved out of sight of it when I was 18 but I still miss it!
Off to the gym now for an assessment the way things are going, I’ll probably break their scales.
Cheers
MTM

My bit of sea is only a few hundred yards away. It’s really rough today, the Irish ferry is hours late. I usually ally see it going out at 3pm and it was still coming in yesterday at 7pm.
For anyone doing the Apple iOS 12 update. It does shuffle some apps about on your screen. If you like the same order make a note before you start. I can’t figure out what’s missing but I’m certain I’m one short. 🙄

Have seen bits, and the whole first episode. I realized it's going to be a commitment - to watch carefully enough to keep the relationships straight. Not a casual watch. So haven't started it yet.

What an ordeal! Glad it's over for you.

Every time I add one, it is with fear and trepidation, but I have learned to use Lyft and Uber, and downloaded - and used successfully - the bank app which takes over your phone's camera and deposits a check, which means that even though our bank is 200 miles east of here, we can still continue to use it, and have avoided one more change in our lives. The bank sent checks with an address in an area they have no offices with nary a quibble. Modern world.

Basically the author of Game of Thrones is pretty well read on Italian Renaissance history, English Wars of the Roses history and Scots medieval history
So, for example, the Red Wedding that shocked people is

I have watched all of GoT series and read the books. I keep updating my top 5 deaths :)
Some disgusting coughing bugger on the train on Tuesday has gifted me a sore throat and shivery aches. Not one for colds at all usually so I am a little ticked off. Just applying a rather nice South African pinotage as an emollient and just to be on the safe side will also dispense a dram later. Better safe than sorry.

Alicia, that reminds me that I need to back up my files. Now!
Will, I am so pleased for you. Where have you/are you moving to?
Desley, it's nearly the 28th. Will message you. Am getting excited. PJ was great at a talk he did in the summer.
Hubby is out for dinner with the boys. Just about to microwave an M&S chicken tikka masala and open some red.
We're alternating between glorious hot spots and windy outbreaks here (I mean the weather and not anything else!)
Enjoy the start of the week-end. x

Whisky in the jar?

Fuckorama! That’s cool.
Will, even more well done on the house, Rosemary, whiskey is great for colds. Kelley, well done, Lynne I haven’t updated. Not sure I want to, my iPad is so fast and such a joy to use at the moment I’m afraid something like that might stuff it up. Alicia, your bank app sounds brilliant. Tim, glad you got a walk in the other day. Meant to say.
Morning all, woke up a bit early for a weekend so I’m just chilling. It’s been very windy here but it’s suddenly gone from a hot wind to a rather cold one.
Cheers

Really crap week this week. Narla's getting worse again, we're going back to the vets this morning. Even though it's not a specialist today, we know what the next step of treatment is so I want to start it. I don't want her stressed by tests that will just show what her symptoms are telling us. Really hoping they'll agree because I'm worried Monday is too far away :(

That's really good news Alicia. (I'm still searching for my writing mojo . . .)
