Raining here.
Morning all.

Raining here.
Morning all.

Think this week has just been a generally crap week all round. Storm Ali brought a tree down in the playground of the school my Mum works in, minutes after the children were called inside for lunch and my mum got to our drive just up the road. So glad noone was hurt. Hoping for a better week this week!!
Hope everyone's doing ok this weekend.

Fantastic news Alicia!

Great that you're slowly improving Tim.
Good to hear that Narla is on the mend. That was scarey about the tree.
Hope I haven't missed anyone out!

My brother in law phoned today and told my OH how he’d been scammed this week. He’d been having messages on his computer to say he had a virus for a few days. He kept closing everything down and checking his computer but these messages kept coming in. Then he had a call from BT to say the WiFi box had a virus. You can guess the rest. It wasnt BT and somehow with the info he gave them his email & bank accounts were hacked. He hasn’t lost anything as he did phone Nationwide from my sisters phone so didn’t complete the fraud. (They told him to ring his bank but they are on the line so you think you are ringing your bank but in fact it’s part of the scam.) Nationwide confirmed onfirmed it was a scam and had blocked transactions for 500 from his savings and a lot more from his other account, He’s dealing with the police and the banks now, but he’s thoroughly upset to think he could have been tricked.

Glad Narla is doing well, am sure she will enjoy seeing you. Glad that the children were safe. Glad your brother in law realised and his bank stopped it.

Claire, hope Narla is home soon, and feeling better.
Weather's been miserable most of today but brightened up late afternoon.

that's good

We may have internet in our flat in the next couple of weeks, so I'm hoping normal service will resume soonish.
Bloody busy day today. I've got only one free lesson and a staff meeting after school.
Better crack on...

Or maybe energy comes back when it gets a bit cooler.
Good luck on getting internet, Patti, but it's good to know you have 'our flat,' too, and are getting into the swing of things at your new school.
Tim - hope the healing continues without further ado.

Hope you get internet sorted Patti

Cold kind of day, but clear.

Why are weekends so short?
Fighting a migraine this morning, already taken all the drugs I can but I have a feeling that I'll need to take more later. I wish Nathan would stop waking during the night, I shouted at him at 5am for picking at my belly button while feeding (most annoying thing in the world!) and he started properly sobbing, cue mum guilt.
Glad you are making such improvements Tim! Must be a relief.
I hope Narla is on the mend now too, Claire.
I made friands last week, they were delicious. I'm always tempted by what they make on Bake Off but I've never made anything from the series. Maybe I should!

We have decided that more work needs doing to complete your new service than we thought, and your appointment for the 18 Sept. will not now take place. We shall contact you shortly in this regard.
BT, on the ball as ever...

Went into town (Hull) to take back a new top - only washed once - from M&S. Seam had come adrift. They changed it very willingly. While I was there I decided I'd do a bit of C-word shopping. I remembered why I don't go there to shop. Deary me. All charity shops, coffee bars and cheapo shops. There was nothing for me there.

Fell over on my walk this morning - misjudged a kerb. Fortunately I landed on wet grass, so no damage. Still doused myself in dettol when I got home though!

Except to your pride. Adults hate falling. It's so toddler-like.
Glad you're okay.

So glad you're home, Tim. Not sure of your choice of cologne, though.
Where is your new place, Will? Any closer to Barry for visits?
How's Narla, Claire?
Things here are rolling along. The year 4s are out on a school trip today, so I've got a couple of extra free lessons. I'm using them to look for free downloadable resources.
I really need some books in my classroom. ergh.

Can't believe you have no books in your classroom Patti

Dreamt I pulled one of my back teeth out last night. With my fingers. Not sure if that means seven years of famine or what

Glad you didn’t do any extra damage there, Tim. Hope you can find something more suitable, Kath.
Mostly Maths and English for me today. Must try to brush up on my algebra.

I feel better for reading all the uplifting news - the scion of the house was over for late dinner on Saturday and I was just dishing up when I heard a thud in the lounge. Himself had fallen over and managed to break his kneecap in the process. Way to spend part of himself's birthday celebration(Sat) and our wedding anniversary (Sun)! Silly man kept apologising while on the floor in agony if he moved! Anyway, he's in hospital and we're waiting to see if a splint will allow the bone to knit together rather than having surgery. Hopefully the physios will get him mobile enough to come home shortly.
I've decided all the upheaval in the past year has caused my writing mojo to run off and join Tim's.

I've been out in the greenhouse collecting up the dried pods of my Bird's Egg climbing bean. They grow outside but when they're mature I dry them on the greenhouse staging and use them in winter casseroles, cassoulets and chillies. Need to shell them all out so that'll be my afternoon job.
All take care!

Think I'm going to head out for a coffee now, I need assistance with staying awake.

Organised? Yeah right.
Patti, I'm afraid I'm further away from Barry. K has a smallholding just outside Aberaeron, and we are living there.

Elisabeth, that sounds grim, I hope his nibs is home soon.
Tim, lucky escape there! ;-)
Cracking day here, good for a walk which was lucky as I locked my bike to a lamp post in town and then remembered that I'd left my keys in the garage door and then closed the back gate, locking myself out of the garden. Had to borrow a ladder from the cobblers opposite so I could lean over and open the gate because my knees are too bollocksed to climb over the wall these days. Then it was back up to town to collect my bike, finish my shopping, pay in a cheque for my dad and after all that, I've only been home half an hour.
It would be nice to say this doesn't happen much but I'd be lying, I do it once or twice every school term. Sigh.
Morning all.
Cheers
MTM

Now, is it because you refuse to grow up that it happens or do you not grow up because of it?
Being responsible 24/7 is overrated.

Being responsible is overrated, I'll grant you, but it would be nice to be a bit less of a dunderhead.
