If I'm the Will you're asking after, I'm doing fine thanks. No more dodgy ticker moments. I'm building up my strength for another op on Friday 8th, after ..."
That's good Will. Best of luck for the next op!

That's good Alicia. Fingers crossed it all goes quickly for you.

Glad you are back and have a plan Alicia, even if you came back to some issues. Congrats Lindsay. Glad you are getting there Will, good luck for the next procedure

Congrats on the job offer, Lindsay
I don't know how much weather anyone else got last night: I was looking forward to a storm, and all we got was a heavy, oppressive feeling coming in from outside, with just about enough rain to stop me having to get the hosepipe out this morning for the garden

Had a terrible night's sleep last night and the night before so I'm feeling a bit rough today. I have coffee though.
Phoned the Dr about my toe and he told me they can't refer me for an x-ray until the injury is at least 2 weeks old so my options are to go to a&e or wait until I'm 2 weeks post injury, which is Sunday. I'll probably just ring again next week.
Glad you're home safe Alicia and fingers crossed that your retirement place comes together and you can get the ball rolling.
Congrats Lindsay! What a relief. Is it something you would be happy doing?
Good luck Will! Hope it all goes smoothly and you are back to your old self again soon
Did I miss anyone?

I think the sun is breaking through so there'll be gardening perpatrated before we're much older.
Take care, all.

That sounds bonkers Jud.

And for the broken-bone people, two weeks walking, running, climbing stairs on a broken foot would be devastating. Where is 'First, do no harm'? Plus two weeks of pain, and being required to go to work, etc. Doesn't sound as if they care for people and their problems. Would you really go get an X-ray or MRI for the fun of it?

Triffid going from strength to strength! Blooming marvelous I reckon. The bees love it. (Still at 5 metres!)

Dish of the day today was Risotto a l’ail des ours et escargots.
Well he translated it as bear and snail risotto with garlic, put me right off me dinner he did.
Three of us had chicken and he had kidneys. Was really nice meal and good company,

Thanks Jud, I will be a sales office manager for a textiles sample book manufacturer. They are a family owned business, 125 years old, and it sounds like it is going to be a good opportunity.
I hope you can get your toe sorted, I broke three toes playing ice hockey, not a nice thing to have happen. Never realised how much you use your toes!

Fortunately, the very nice lady from Mediscan rang me while I was in my meeting to say she had had the referral through, and she could get me in on Mon!! When I first spoke to her, she said they had hundreds of referrals a day and gave me a direct number, I thought that was really good of her. Went to the retail park, discovered our local Range has increased things like toiletries, so came back with sun lotion and stuff!! Got to Aldi to find a sign warning that the cash machines were acting up, so was very glad I'd bought stuff for my neighbour at the co-op last night and she'd given me cash, so I had £10 to buy my shopping!! Started raining on the way home, luckily stopped enough to get the shopping in, we've had intermittent rain and thunder since, but still stuffy.
Sounds interesting Lindsay. I do remember the podiatrist asking something about how long after injuring myself I had my x-ray Jud, I can't remember whether something did or didn't show after 10 days. I never realised how often you used your left foot first, putting your weight on it till I injured it Lindsay!! Interesting plant LA

So glad you can get in sooner rather than having to wait. This has been going on far too long for you.

Thank you. I just hope he was right and this isn't going to show anything different

Glad to hear it - that's not too long at all!
Morning, everyone. It's overcast here yet somehow too warm, which feels like the worst of both worlds.

He’s just come back from dog walking complaining about the awful strong smell of fox pee, must be on the dogs, please give them a sponge down. So I did, we’re all outside now and hes saying that smell is following him about. Logic says it’s him that has walked through fox pee. Hehehehe

Yes, that's how it feels here Benjamin. Silly OH Lynne! Glad you haven't been affected by flooding.

Hmm, he's pushing it, isn't he?

Dave and I have spent the morning doing the final flat sort (I hope it's the last!).
Would be so much easier if everything was going or staying. Having so many piles of stuff is horrendous.
Now I'm tired, hungry and extremely grumpy.

Great fun and I'm not just saying that because I'm biased!

No wonder you enjoyed it, Will. Our granddaught (13) has just landed the leading part with their local amdram group. Play to be staged in October so we're going for that! She always seems a quiet kind of gal until you put her on a stage and she goes off like a firework!
Bit of writing this morning then we're (I'm) planning a garden centre trip for a few striking perennials. I have a big glazed pot (with a dragon on) which I want to make into a 'mini garden'. Lord knows why when I've got two massive maxi gardens already! I'll put it by the front door. I have a couple of things already growing that I can split for the big pot, but I want something flowering and something tall. You know the kind of thing. Something scented, maybe.
Gardening this afternoon.
Have a good day, all.

Hope your flat's sorted after this, Patti.

Spent most of the afternoon in my woodshed with my Father in law getting things setup and playing with the lathe. It was great.
Hope everyone else has had a good Saturday?
Congrats Will's nephew and Kath's granddaughter.

Glad you had a good day Lindsay

Grey and overcast. Bleh.
Out to the posh hotel for brunch today.
Bottomless prosecco will be nice.

Or, in my experience, downright dangerous.
Morning all.

Hope you enjoy brunch Patti, and you enjoy your lunch Lynne.

Got another big trough to plant up this aft. I wasn't half stiff last night from lugging a big bag of compost and bobbing up and down to plant up the tubs. If I don't plant them in situ they're too heavy to move so I have to do the bobbing bit.

Dave's flat on his back on the couch. Lightweight, he is.
I'm thinking of starting the newest (and last) Ruth Rendell that I've got lined up on my kindle. Reckon if I do, I'll be snoring louder than Dave in ten minutes...

He's booked for a colonoscopy in three weeks. From my understanding, that's quite urgent. Having said that, when Dave was ill, he had one within an hour.
That was through private medical care, though.
On the bright side, Dave's father isn't feeling at all ill and isn't in any pain. Not many 91 year olds can say that, I bet.

Wow, that is a long brunch Patti!! Fingers crossed for Dave's dad, I'm not sure if that is quick or not, glad he isn't feeling ill, hope I can say that at his age!!
