Final Cut by S.J. Watson which I didn't think was anywhere near as good as Second Life Check out my review on my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just read The Wonder by Emma Donoghue, It's a wonder what strange things people believed in old Ireland. (Not that we're any wiser today.)

Just finished
Memories of Wild Rose Bay: An Utterly Uplifting and Gripping Irish Romance by Susanne O'Leary, a pleasant but predictable Irish romance. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende, translated from the Spanish by Nick Caistor and Amanda Hopkinson. I think it got bogged down with recounting the political events in Spain and Chile to the detriment of the narrative.
My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of The Secret Life of Shirley Sullivan by Lisa Ireland
3 stars

Read Tanith Lee's A Heroine of the World and reviewed it - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3552070432.
My first Ann Cleeves book was the terrific The Darkest Evening, #9 in the "Vera Stanhope" series. I know and love Vera from television and am now a fan of her original self, albeit a little late.
5★ LInk to my "Darkest Evening" review
Pockets by Amal El-Mohtar is a charming, thought-provoking short story, and it's available FREE online. It's fun!Link to my "Pockets" review (with a link to the story)
Finished A Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary WollstonecraftMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Read The Happy Marriage by Tahar Ben Jelloun, translated from the French by André Naffis-Sahely. A thought-provoking novel which interrogates class and racial tensions, age-disparity, and a traditional versus a modern view of a Moroccan marriage. I thought it was an interesting approach, skillfully handled.

Brooding? No. Atmospheric? No. Suspenseful? Mildly, in parts. Interesting? Yes, like a car wreck you can't look away from.
The Girls Weekend by Jody Gehrman. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
My review of A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher
