I'm sure you would do fine, Lauren :). I think this challenge will be good for anyone who wants to give being captain a try. Compared to some of the last team challenges, this one should be more relaxed and without too many things to keep track of. Perfect for new captains!

Sheila (sheilaj) I've got a questions I didn't see any mention of each team member needing to finish a book. As long as the letters get filled in does it matter if all the members finish books for it? Bonus points if all team members finish a book each week? The reason I ask is that we had 2 members of our uncoverit team go MIA which was pretty discouraging.

So obviously team members can read multiple books per week to fill in the genres right? Thanks

message 108: by Karen ⊰✿, Fiction Aficionado (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 16606 comments Mod
Correct - you just need to finish the letters. As many books as you like per member. The bonus points are just for finishing your spell-it-out genre name, and if one team member reads a book of that genre.

I've set up a captains group where captains can notify me of team members going MIA so that we can replace as needed (as teams will be made up to have similar yearly average of books to keep things fair)

message 109: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Do we only get extra points for one book of that genre, if maybe 2 or 3 also reads a book for that genre?

Just for one. I'm trying to keep things simple for this challenge :)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6415 comments I've got a question. During the time of the challenge do we only add books to our shelf that will match the word we are working on that week or any books we read. If we store books on the shelf that don't match the word of that week, can we use them for a another word later on in the challenge?

Sorry if I'm complicating things.

message 113: by Karen ⊰✿, Fiction Aficionado (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 16606 comments Mod
Hi Lisa,

No problems :)
You should add all books you read to the shelf. Your captain may be able to find a way to wrangle it to use your books that week.
The challenge is based on a weekly deadline, so the new genre name is given after that deadline and new books need to be read and used (they aren't stored/banked from previous weeks)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6415 comments Yes. That makes sense. Thank you.
