I think it is going to be tough to find a time for everyone. I may wait until we have all our captains and then work out if there is a common time that works for all. It may just be that we find a time that works for everyone, except for me, and that is ok (it just means you will all have to wait a few hours for results each week!)

You might as well - you're going to be reading books anyway... :) :)

I had the same thought, Mary, but this one is so expansive with long words with lots of letter choices and so many ways to fill that letter that I figured it would be easy to double up books with Scrabble and Bingo.

I want you to have a time that works for you - it's your challenge. :) I wasn't complaining, but if my team is also all in N. America most of us probably wouldn't be trying to read/finish books right up to the deadline either. I think in that case, me posting 4-6 hours earlier than the deadline isn't a huge issue.

My brain is jumbling up all these great challenges you guys come up with!

"◈ The team's task is to read books to spell out the genre name for 10 points per letter
◈ The team will get an extra 15 bonus points if all the letters in the genre name are part of their spell-it-out"
Soooo ... if a team gets, say, non-fiction to spell, they would earn 10 points for each letter that's completed, and a bonus of 15 points if they complete all of the letters?

Jaclyn wrote: "Questions: We have to spell out the genre, right? So if we get "current best seller", our team has to read 17 books? Or is it as many as we can and bonus if we spell it all? Also, I'm assuming that..."
The goal would be to read 17 books. If you read all 17 you would get 10 points per letter, plus a bonus 15 points. And if someone in your group also read a book classed as a "Current Best Seller" (for this genre we ask you to provide a link to the bestseller list such as http://www.bookdepository.com/bestsel...) you would get an additional 20 points.
So let's say you only were able to read 15 of the 17 letters, and one group member read a CBS genre that would be 170 points for the week (15 x 10 = 150 + 20). Whereas if you covered all 17 letters it would be 185 points (15 x 10 = 150 + 15 + 20)
Barb - This hopefully answers your question too?

I'm guessing 6-8 weeks so you should be ok. If it looks like running over that, and you won't have internet access, you could always let the captain know the books you will read over that period (to be verified when you return) or we can find a replacement player for your team
