30% Let me start out by saying even that even though I read this book somewhere right around when the netflix series was fixing to come out, I guess I never marked it as read on Goodreads, which is probably because I have this series on ibooks so it doesn't auto feed to Goodreads like Kindle. I am rereading it because I am looking for references to Clockwork Angel since I have just read that book and trying to refresh some already known things and find tidbits that I didn't recognize as references when I read it before. I think it would be epic if after they wrap up the Netflix series for the Immortal Instruments that they took all the same exact characters and put them in the Clockwork Angel series and ran that.. But put them in different spots scatter them around and disguise them a little here and there, I mean other than the people that were actually there like Camille and Magnus etc. Maybe even have Valentine's actor play the Magistor or something. I honestly don't know if the series is even still running I think I got distracted after maybe 1/2 way through the second season.... but i still think it would be cool.
The only connections I've had to far have to have been from Clockwork Princess, because that's the one I haven't read and it's got the characters in it, and it's talking about things I don't know.

Review: THANK GOD I GOT THROUGH THIS! Ugh what a slog. I was lost basically from start to finish, only really following Simon, as per usual. Why did I feel like this book was one of the most boring in the series. Thank gosh I actually finally finished this bloody series, now I can forget about it and get rid of it! YAAAAYYYYYYY I liked the tie-in with Infernal Devices in this book, and a crossover of some of the characters. But just honestly I'm done with all of this crap.
I was dying laughing last night as Maddison was posting every one %! I could just imagine her comments before I went to read them 95% still not over 96% just a little bit farther... 97 % omg still not over. Then this morning when I opened my app that is basically was lol! So funny!

Finished Dang it! (view spoiler) I am so glad I did a reread of this even if it was so I could sleuth out info about the characters in in the Internal Devices series. Though it has been quite some time since I have read the rest of the Immortal Instruments series I really didn't feel too lost. I do remember when reading through the series the first time that it seemed like the author really dragged out the main story line, but she is really great about throwing in plenty of distractions that still makes the books interesting to me.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

There seems to be some kind of (view spoiler) aspect to them honestly.

It's because the two series are intertwined I believe. They even have some character crossover between the two (view spoiler) and some things in one book spoil things for the other, etc. If you read them in publication order everything ties together between the two, whereas if you read them in series order you'll get spoilers for one or the other.

The "love" that's referred to will be revealed in Clockwork Princess, same with who the ghost is, and who Brother Zachariah is ;D If you've only read Clockwork Angel at this stage, you wouldn't have all the info c:
The books are honestly written in the most confusing way. If you want to get all the info you basically need to read it in publication order. The wikia has info on it here:
https://shadowhunters.fandom.com/wiki...
I was reading it in the "Triad order" listed on that, which in hindsight wasn't the smartest plan. Oops? :P
Yea I didn’t even realize the series were meant to be read together until Sarah said that clockwork angel is actually book 4 and not book 1. 🤯
Yeah, it's definitely confusing, huh? 8'D I was fine for a while, because I read the first three (up to City of Glass) when they first came out, and Clockwork Angel when that came out... but then it took a while before the next lot came out and I'm only now catching up on ALL the Cassandra Clare books XD;;
Yeah I'm mad because I have been reading them in publication order, but then I thought 'na I'll be fine if I read TMI 6 before TID 3', as there haven't really been spoilers so far, and TMI 6 worked for a challenge. Bit mad now, the ending of TID is ruined. Not that I really care but yknow.
Oh jeez, really? I thought you'd already read TID 3 o.O I read that one first, and there's definitely spoilers for this one... especially because I read the separate epilogue thingamajig as well, and from what I can tell with that, it was based after this one... They're just too damn confusing to find the proper reading order honestly @_@
Yeah the one book I decide to read out of order...
But honestly I can't remember a thing about these books. For some reason audio just doesn't stick with me.
