Yeah, I've read the series so I know that. Also, I never really thought it was creepy. Just felt sorry for the two.

I actually do like Simon, but not until later in the book. This book was a turning point for him in my opinion. Afterwards, I thought he awesome.

Reread this book. Here are my thoughts.

However, reading and remembering that Simon and Clary were in a relationship is kind of weird after shipping Clace and Sizzy for so long now. I do wonder what would have happened to the series if they had stayed together though. (hide spoiler)]

He definitely becomes more of his own character after this book. I love his witty comments.

Maia's past seems terrible :( Wonder how much of a part she'll play in this book.

Why doesn't Jace say that it was Valentine? I'd be pretty intimidated by all of those Shadowhunters too, but still?
I'd be seriously grossed out by all of those dead Silent Brothers. And I wonder if it was the demon that was loose that caused Jace to feel fear, seeing as it was unfamiliar to him, and it made the Silent Brothers break their oath. (hide spoiler)]

I hated her too! I hated how she came out so righteous looking when she's doing things out of hate and personal issues.

Finished. Gave this book 4 stars. Don't think I liked it as much as the first time I read it a few years ago, probably because I kept getting it confused with the show. The show's taken over my imagination too, which kind of sucks. At least (view spoiler)[Imogen was a new character, and Madeleine's the one who knows how to wake Jocelyn up. (hide spoiler)] I can't even remember how that worked in the show. One rage I have about the ending is that (view spoiler)[Simon's now alright to just be Clary's friend, and Jace is alright to just be her brother?? Of course Clary wouldn't tell Jace what she wanted (hide spoiler)], because that's what all main characters do and it annoys the crap out of me! Ugh! I'm pleased that (view spoiler)[Valentine didn't give in to the Inquisitor. And I'm pleased that she finally trusted Jace, and that Jace told her from the start what was going to happen. (hide spoiler)] Pretty excited for the 3rd one because I haven't read that one before.

I agree with you about (view spoiler)[ Jace and Simon just being okay with how things ended with Clary. Well for Simon I could relate to. I've seen it happen to my friend and her best guy friend where my friend never felt the same as her best guy friend towards her. But neither of them wanted to throw away years of friendship, so they settled for being just friends. But for Jace, I didn't like how he was suddenly just okay with it because it doesn't fit his character. He's always been the spoiled, get whatever I want or I force things and get what I want anyway type of guy. That whole scene just seemed so out of character. (hide spoiler)]

I've heard some things about him. Alicante almost reminds me of a little English town somewhere, just more grand. Kinda like the Elvish city in Lord of the Rings. Pleased I made a big dent in it. Probably get back to reading some more now too.

I wonder what's happening with Aldertree too! And Simon? Clearl Aldertree's dodge af haha. But I hate how they changed his appearance in the show sooo much! I like my imagination's image of him better XD (hide spoiler)]
Is it just me that doesn't really take into account descriptions of clothes? Like when they keep describing what the characters are wearing, I just skip over it and it never sticks XD
