Okay, annoying Twilight references aside (could we stop with the "hole in my chest" stuff?) I had to love this story. I'm disappointed and irritated that (view spoiler)[ Tamlin is such a bad guy... he's Edward but worse, and after we get past the whole that was supposed to be Feyre's love of a lifetime, does he really have to be such a traitor? I suppose it makes for a more interesting story. I will say I do not understand her constant berating of herself as a traitor because he did something she couldn't tolerate, she walked, she fell in love with someone else after she had zero intention of going back to him and told him so... this is not traitorous. It's called moving on. I get that it stretches out the sexual tension but enough. (hide spoiler)]

I adore Rhys... did in book one even though I didn't like, and still don't really get him grabbing her protruding broken bones and hurting her like that he did. Feyre gets angry so easily; it's like she's just looking for reasons to be mad at everyone. So many twists in this book though, it was a thrill ride... couldn't hardly put it down. IS IT TIME FOR THE NEXT ONE YET? (hide spoiler)]

Wow, I thought I had already posted once on Wings and Ruin, but apparently it got eaten by cyberspace. Or I forgot to hit post. Both are possible.

I'm glad that (view spoiler)[ we were able to rescue Lucien because I always liked him, but I continue to be irritated that Tamlin is such a completely self-absorbed, can't-see-whats-right-in-front-of-him jerk. I suppose it's necessary, and I can see how there were hints of it even in the first book, but that doesn't make me less annoyed at it. Even if I've always liked Rhys. I've always loved books where people deal with problems by being clever and thinking on their feet, so I suppose this series is a natural "like" for me. Feyre continues to be incredibly clever and finds ways to use her power that work, even against stronger opponents. I've liked this since the first book. I'm ready for her to be back home in the Night Court. Even if it is becoming less and less believable that Rhys is perceived everywhere as the epitome of ruthless cruelty and evil. (hide spoiler)]

Seriously, WHAT is up with (view spoiler)[ Nesta? I know they excused her behavior in the first book, but I cannot figure out why she continues to be such an unrelenting jerk. And why she seems to think she owns Elain. I don't really care at this point what powers she got from the Cauldron or how hard things have been for her, she doesn't have to make everything ten times worse by being so absolutely horrible. Seriously. I don't even like when she shows up on the page, I just want to skip over the section until she's gone again. (hide spoiler)]

I love this writer :) Another book so incredibly complex and fast-paced, layered characters and still just FUN to read. (view spoiler)[ I'm learning to tolerate Nesta; at least she finally said yes, greater good is more important than me and whatever I think I want. I still don't quite get why she's so attached to Elain, but I'm glad Elain's coming around toward normal again too. She was striking me as almost too special for a while. And may I say that the particular moment when ALL THREE of the really bad dudes were unveiled before Hybern's army was one of the great moments of reading that I don't get nearly often enough. Now to find out what happens...

Chapter 17-32 (view spoiler)[ nesta and feyre thinks that elain has lost her mind with all that she said before finding out she is a seer.nesta finally reveals that she took most of the cauldrons essence when it turned her into a fae.feyre loving to fly is funny,and seeing a different side to azriel is interesting.i wonder how hybern found out about nesta taking most of the essence though and i hate what keir demanded for his help with their war.i so hope the autumn and winter court will ally with them.
