In for 2018? No as I have built quite an extensive list of want to read books that do not work for the 2018 Challenge list of prompts. I may rejoin for 2019!
Thank you to the leaders for coordinating this group!!

Favorite prompt: Book from non-human perspective They Called Me Dragon: A Narrative Account of My Adventures on the Planet Earth
Favorite book: super tough choice - I think I'll go with Beautiful Hero: How We Survived the Khmer Rouge
Least favorite prompt: Book over 800 pages. Yeesh! :) [although, I did want to read this book] Traitor to His Class: The Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Last prompt you finished: Book you've read that always makes you smile. Where the Wild Things Are
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": Book from a sub-genre you've never heard of before. Bats of the Republic: An Illuminated Novel
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: Or 2019 since 2018 is already set? - How about: A book published in the year you were born.
Finally, are you in for 2018? Absolutely, for all 52. This challenge greatly expanded my range of reading, introduced me to new subgenres, authors, and cultures, and it plays well for doing other challenges alongside.

Date you finished: 40 Books: December 7, 2017

Favorite prompt: A steampunk novel (I did not know what this was so it was interesting to read a unheard of genre. That to me is what this group is about, stretching what you read.)
Favorite book: A Gentleman in Moscow. (Just did not want this one to end.
Least favorite prompt: A book you've read before that makes you smile. (Do not want to reread, unless I choose to.)
Last prompt you finished:A book set in 2 different time periods
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": Main character has a different ethnicity than yourself
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: Read a book published prior to the 1900's.
Finished one book for 2018 prompt already. While I'm working on that 800 pager. Which I will finish in the new year, I expect.

Message number(s) for regular and advanced list posts: #946 and #469
Favorite prompt: "A book recommended by an author you love"
Favorite book: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell
Least favorite prompt: Any prompt with the word "bestseller" in it.
Last prompt you finished: "A book that takes place over a character's life span"
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": They're already out, so there's no point in answering this one.
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: Ditto.
Finally, are you in for 2018? No. I'm a bit burned out now, so I plan to slow down and savor books for a while. And I'm behind in my writing, so I'll do at least one of the NaNoWriMo monthly things in 2018.
I kept some book and author statistics on a spreadsheet, because that's what I do:
Number of books by author's county of birth: Australia 2, Canada 2, France 1, Germany 1, Ireland 1, Japan 1, Malaysia 1, UK 6, USA 37.
Format: 36 paper books, 11 audio books, 5 ebooks.
Gender: 42 female authored-books, 10 male authored-books. (As far as I know; I didn't research gender fluidity or whether an author is trans. I'm just going by the names and author photos and pronouns. I read books by two authors AND books by multiple authors, so I read works written by 37 female and 12 male people.
18,664 pages, for an average of 358.92 pages per book. The longest book is 1,006 pages long. The shortest is 37 pages. The oldest book was first published in 1912. Five books were published in 2017.
My most prolific month was September, with 11 books finished. (I worked my library's circulation counter a lot that month, which meant a lot of time to sit and read until a student needed help.)

Favorite prompt: A book recommended by a librarian
Favorite book:The Handmaid's Tale and The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender were both amazing and I think are both some of my all time favorite books in general.
Least favorite prompt: An espionage thriller, definitely not my type of genre at all
Last prompt you finished: A book written by someone you admire
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": I think a book from a genre you have never heard of because it's broad but still interesting
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: a celebrity memoir
Finally, are you in for 2018? of course!

Message number(s) for regular and advanced list posts: 192/397
Favorite prompt: book that’s been on your TBR pile for too long
Favorite book: The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World
Least favorite prompt: best seller from a genre you never read (there’s a reason I don’t read it) followed closely by a “bestseller from 2016” as almost all of them were books that were from a series.
Last prompt you finished: Book with a family member in the title
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": n/a but for 2019 – made into a movie in 2019 or Book that's been on your TBR list for too long.
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: n/a for 2018 but I have started a list for 2019
Finally, are you in for 2018? Already made my lists!

Date you finished: December 19th
Favorite prompt: A book that's been on your TBR list for way too long. Chose the book with the longest tenure there, so it was satisfying to finish it finally.
Favorite book: Her Name in the Sky -- a reread for me, but one I'd happily reread always.
Least favorite prompt: A book with an unreliable narrator. I liked the book I read for the prompt; I just hated the prompt. Finding out that a book has an unreliable narrator was a bit of a spoiler.
Last prompt you finished: A book based on mythology.
Are you in for 2018? I'm really uninspired by the 2018 list, so I'm not sure. Also, while I'm really glad I did the challenge, it became a chore closer to the end. I've begun to populate the list, but I may not be as determined to see it to completion as I was this year.

Date you finished: December 19th

Favorite prompt: I honestly couldn't pick a favorite, I thought it was a very well-thought list.
Favorite book: Tough competition between Ready Player One and Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body, just to name a few.
Least favorite prompt: A book with a cat on the cover, but just because I couldn't find a book that attracted me enough.
Last prompt you finished: A book that is a story between a story, just because it came last in the mail.
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": A book with pictures, any excuse to read manga or comics.
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: Well, I actually already looked into next years lists, but I swear I thought of the prompt with a title that is a song as well, I swear.
Finally, are you in for 2018? Of course!!! Already have my list posted!!!
I just want to say how grateful I am that I could participate this year. The number of books I've read that I probably would have overlooked had it not been for this challenge, I don't want to know, honestly. Thank you, guys!!! See you next year.

Favorite prompt: A book of letters
I discovered a whole genre that I didn't know existed. Epistolary Novels are wonderful! :) Also, the prompt accommodates a wide range of tastes - something I always appreciate in prompts. If that wasn't enough reason to love this prompt, I discovered two books I really enjoyed (Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters, which I used for this prompt and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society) while browsing suggestions for this prompt.
Favorite book:

I read this for the "book about an interesting woman". It was very well-written, very interesting and very close to my heart.
Least favorite prompt: A book with career advice.
I don't know why PopSugar insists on some variation of "a self-help book" prompt each year :( I don't like 'em!
Last prompt you finished: A book written by someone you admire
I read

"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": A book about an interesting woman
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: A book with less than 5000 reviews on GoodReads
There are so many underappreciated books out there! I really want to find them.
Finally, are you in for 2018? Yes.
I thought I'll sit this one out, and work on my TBR pile instead, but this is too much fun ;)

Message number(s) for regular and advanced list posts: 8 and 7, respectively
Favorite prompt: A Book That Has Been On Your TBR List Way Too Long (Love Is a Mix Tape)
Favorite book: I read so many good ones, but I realized none of them stuck out to me as my absolute favorite. However, A Monster Calls would be my choice here.
Least favorite prompt: A Book With Career Advice. Luckily I found a short book that actually gives good advice and can apply to almost anyone. The Dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When to Quit
Last prompt you finished: A Book You Got From a Used Book Sale You Can Date Boys When You're Forty: Dave Barry on Parenting and Other Topics He Knows Very Little About.
Finally, are you in for 2018? Yes! Starting a long book now with the intention of finishing it next year.

Favorite prompt: An audiobook. I struggled with the one I picked because I tried to listen at work. I discovered that listening to the right book read by the right narrator in the right place (the car) is incredibly good.
Favorite book: The Name of the Wind
Least favorite prompt: Book with a red spine - I read ebooks. How do I know what color the spine is?
Last prompt finished: Book over 800 pages - Les Misérables. Great book with A LOT of philosophical expository.
I am in for 2018!

Favorite prompt: A Book With A Cat on the Cover, for which I read The Dream-Quest of Vellitt Boe by Kij Johnson
Favorite book: The Changeling by Victor LaValle, which I read for A Book Where the Main Character is a Different Ethnicity than You
Least favorite prompt: A Book With Career Advice. The book I ended up reading, Healthy Is the New Skinny: Your Guide to Self-Love in a "Picture Perfect" World, was actually pretty interesting, but books with career advice are something I am typically philosophically opposed to.
Last prompt you finished: A Book You Got from a Used Book Sale. I read Love's Enchantment: Story Poems And Ballads, which is mostly short stories and poems and was a book I would read intermittently throughout the year reading several poems at a time then putting it down for another day.
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": I agree with the previous posters who like a completely new list save for A Book Published in 2018
Suggestion for a new prompt for 2018: Well the list has already come out, so I suppose this is more for 2019, but I think a bestseller from when your parent was your age would be an interesting prompt.
Finally, are you in for 2018? Yup! I'm still post #11 if you want to follow me for next year :)

Favorite book: Either Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood (set in country you've never been to) or 84, Charing Cross Road (book of letters) or The Hate U Give (difficult topic). Lincoln in the Bardo was extraordinary.
Least favorite prompt: Non-human perspective. (Mostly, I think, because I wasn't that into The Bees) And there was one too many mythology prompts...
Last prompt you finished: A book with a cat on the cover (The Master and Margarita)
"I hope they bring back this prompt in 2018": I guess they kinda brought them all back, with the "choose anything from past challenges" prompt.

Finally, are you in for 2018?I think I'm going to take a break for 2018. I've done the challenge the last two years and I think I'm going to be more free range this year. I feel like I've been reading to fill prompts and I have shelves of TBR to finish.

Message number(s) for regular and advanced list posts: I have no idea, honestly. How do you even find that out?
Favorite prompt: I'm biased because this was a prompt I suggested when the thread was open to take ideas, but I really liked the book by or about someone with a disability. I also liked a book with a family member word in the title.
Favorite book: Illuminae, Daughter of Smoke & Bone, and A Court of Thorns and Roses.

Favorite prompt: I liked a lot of the prompts, particularly "A book by an author from a country you've never visited" or "a book about an interesting woman" or "book by a person of color"
Favorite book: Also too many to count, so I'll do top 5: The Nightingale, One Day We'll All Be Dead and None of This Will Matter, We Are Never Meeting In Real Life, The Kite Runner, and Station Eleven. Runner-ups are What Happened, A Man Called Ove, Uprooted, and Enchanted Islands
Least favorite prompt: Either "a book with career advice" or "a book you've read before that made you smile" -- I'm not a big re-reader of books
Last prompt you finished: "A steampunk novel" -- The Clockwork Dynasty

Favorite prompt: A bestseller from a genre you don't normally read (The Name of the Wind) because it got me out of my comfort zone, but still guaranteed a pretty good book.
Favorite book: The Sellout - funny and clever!
Least favorite prompt: A book published in 2017 (Exit West) because I like to read books that I know will be good, and books that new haven't been tested enough for me.
Last prompt you finished: A book that's been on your TBR list for way too long (Lady Chatterley's Lover) because if I really wanted to read it, I would have read it a long time ago!
Finally, are you in for 2018? I wish I could, but this baby has really cramped my style! I'll just read as much as I can and then try for 2019.

I was thinking the same thing. I did the challenge in 2015 and started in 2016, but I was tired of having any aspect of my reading determined for me. I'll finish this year, though.
