#7 of - 1) from 2) as a result of 3) belonging or related to, so I read Chasing the Omega. After Alice was bitten by a wolf, she decides to join a pack.

Nancy85, your next words are:

#5 accommodation - 1) an adaptation; an adjustment made to assist someone 2) a room, group of rooms, or building in which someone may live or stay
#8 accomplish - to finish; to complete a task or reach a goal
#20 accuse - to say someone has committed an offense of crime

accommodation made me think of a main character owning a Bread and Breakfast place. If it was a cozy mystery, that would fit accuse as well.

JoAnne, here's what I found on page 199:

#16 mayhem - commotion; disturbance
#22 meal - food served and eaten; the occasion for eating
#25 meaning - 1) the definition of a word 2) the significance of an action; signs or symbols

I had to chuckle when I saw your 3rd word. Anyway, if you can find a book with a food fight in it, you could take care of mayhem and meal :)

I picked #23 league - 2) sports teams organized to compete against each other and I read Shielding Lily on 9/18.

Ren gets drafted into the NFL (National Football League) and goes to play with the Minnesota Vikings.

I decided to read Five Little Pigs for snout - the part of an animal's head projecting forward containing the nose and jaw. I thought it was the first time I'd read it, but it seemed familiar some how. Anyway, of course it was good. I love how Poirot tries to understand people and their motivations.

Agnieszka has already picked numbers from page 241 for me:
#9 pinch - 1) a very small amount 2) to squeeze between the finger and thumb 3) to make something feel tight
#16 pioneer - one of the first to explore an area or field of study; an innovator
#22 pistil - the part of a flower that produces seeds

I think I'll read one of the Pink Carnation series.

Barbara, your new words are:

#9 odometer - a device in a vehicle used to measure distance traveled
#14 offend - to hurt someone's feelings; to insult

#8 bakery - a place where pastries, cakes, and breads are made and sold
#11 bald - having no hair
#20 balm - 1) something that relieves pain 2) a soothing ointment

I read Sugar Cookie Murder. The MC owns a bakery where she makes excellent cookies and other sweet treats. She often uses chocolate which can sometimes serve as a balm when a murder happens...there weren't any bald people in this story...

Do any of those definitions suggest a book to you? (I'm thinking of medical books.)

#7 elocution - the art of public speaking or reading, especially with reference to the graces of intonation, gesture, etc.
#20 embarrass - 1) to confuse; disconcert; nonplus 2) to impede; complicate

For some reason, elocution made me think of George Bernard Shaw's play, Pygmalion, and the musical My Fair Lady. "Just you wait, 'enry 'iggins, just you wait...""

It took me a while, but I found a book that fit embarrass. Cooking with Kandy (Will Cook for Love, #1) by Peggy Jaeger Cooking with Kandy had several instances of the characters being embarrassed in one way or another.

#20 Mormon - a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, founded in the U.S. in 1830 by Joseph Smith
#24 morse code - a way of sending messages using flashing lights or a pattern of sounds

One of my favorite books is Wired Love: A Romance of Dots and Dashes by Ella Cheever Thayer. It was published in 1880, and the main character is a telegraph operator. It's the 19th century version of meeting someone 'online'.
