Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had to think of something fast. He got an idea, and quick said, "us? Just a picnic. We just need to plan a spot and get the stuff for it. And no Neus, you cannot come." He said before Neus could ask. Alana did not seemed satisfied. Her ability to find things out about you with just a glance was uncanny. She squinted her eyes at them and then all of a sudden widened them. Shite. He had no clue what she'd seen, or what could have possibly given them away, but there was no doubt Alana knew. Chase gave her a silent glare, trying to make her stay quiet, but she just laughed and shook her head. Tomb was glaring at her as well, but she did not seem to care. Chase was going to kill her if she told anyone, but he doubted he could stop her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase thought about this for a moment. They didn't have a plan yet, and they had no idea how they were going to save sailor. What if she didn't even want to be saved? How were they supposed to save someone who was sure they were already save. "Well, to be perfectly honest with you, I think we'll need to kidnap her. We could sneak into camp, get her alone, and then chloroform her. If we can do that, we can drag her back here and maybe help her. We could treat it like an addiction. If we deprive her from the drug long enough, she might be able to see how toxic it is." He said, mulling over the idea in his head. Of course, there was no way to know if it would work, but it was a start. And a start was as good as anything he figured.

message 303: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase wasn't sure when they should do it, but probably during the night when everyone was sleeping. "I think tomorrow night would be a good idea, that way we can grab her under the cover of night. And of course I won't hurt her Tomb. I wanna save her too, I know she wanted to stop doing what she was doing. She wanted something else. Something more. I want to help you get that for her." He replied, taking tombs hand. He really did want to help sailor, and he didn't want to hurt her either. He kept thinking of the time in the forest when she'd broken down. He had gotten her to see sense. He had her, she agreed to help him get Tomb. So close.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase puzzled over what she said. It would definitely be a problem if sailor slept with captain. As far as Wolfgang went, he had been the one who had clawed his chest to ribbons. Chase definitely wanted a round two with that one. "Oh I can deal with Wolfgang, don't worry about that, but getting sailor out will be tricky. Is there anyway we can get her to come outside maybe? Then we could chloroform her and get out." He said, hoping Tomb would have some idea about getting her out without giving themselves away. I mean, they could always kill captain, but chase didn't like the idea of murdering someone in their sleep. Then again, it probably had to happen eventually, but maybe just not now. It didn't feel right to him.

message 305: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase nodded at the plan. If sailor changed sides, captains group would fall apart. Having your number one supporter change sides really does tend to have a negative impact on a groups moral. Chase was also pretty eager to give a shot at Wolfgang. He'd clawed him up when he was unarmed and vulnerable, but how would he handle a solid steel opponent with a blade? If he had to guess, Wolfgang was in for a nasty surprise. "Don't worry I'll be fine. And yeah, if we can get sailor, it will not bode well for the rivals. But we also have to be ready for a counter attack if we do. Captain won't be happy and he will probably send his people after us. But because they are so weak, I doubt they will succeed. We just need to be ready." He replied as they entered the training arena.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase didn't know she was taking him to spar, but he couldn't back down now. He took his knife out of his sheath and took up a neutral fighting stance ready for anything. Tomb had more range with her sphere, but it wasn't going to do much good against his steel body, so he wasn't particularly worried about it. He waited for her attack, as most knife fighting was based on evasion and deceit.

message 308: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase didn't know she was taking him to spar, but he couldn't back down now. He told her he was going to go grab something and headed off to the shed in the corner of the arena. There were a bunch of things in there, but he was looking for a small concealable knife. He found one and tucked it in his belt on his back side. He then headed back to tomb and told her he was ready. He took his regular knife out of his sheath and took up a neutral fighting stance ready for anything. Tomb had more range with her sphere, but it wasn't going to do much good against his steel body, so he wasn't particularly worried about it. He waited for her attack, as most knife fighting was based on evasion and deceit, not aggressive offense. She started off just testing him, jabbing and slashing lightly, but chase let her strikes through, bouncing off his metal. She wasn't earnestly attacking him yet so he wasn't earnestly defending himself yet.

message 309: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was a little dismayed with the no powers, but he wasn't complaining. He was one of the best knife fighters in camp, with Alana the only one to challenge him. When Tomb landed behind him, he whirled around to find she now had two shorter spears. Chase decided that it wasn't all a bad thing, as her range was shortened to half with two spears. He pressed her a little bit, ducking a spear and giving a slash only to be blocked by the shaft of the other sphere. She countered, pushing him back and slashing with her own spear, which he blocked with his knife. But as he blocked, she stabbed, and he had to grab the shaft of the spear just behind the tip with his free hand to keep it from sticking him. He definitely had a disadvantage with the shorter weapon, and only having a single knife.

message 310: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase backed off catching his breath, allowing himself a reprieve after being jabbed in the groin. When Tomb had gotten back up, they started circling each other again looking for an opening. Tomb attacked first with some slashes and jabs which chase turned aside and blocked, on one, he managed to block the spear with the blade of his knife, creating an opening for him to attack, but he never got the chance as he had to jump out of the way of a swing directed at his midsection. Just when he thought the fight might go on forever, tomb came at him with an intricate twirl, and then jumping on him. They went to the ground, and tomb landed on top of him. She swung a spear and he blocked it, but she already had a spear at his throat. She smiled and gave a hoot. But chase just smiled. When she noticed he was smiling she looked confused at why he was smiling. I mean, he did have spear point at his throat. He indicated for her to look down, as he had finally drawn the four inch blade from his belt and now had it a centimeter away from her abdomen.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase argued that she had not won at all, but she was already headed back home. She had started packing, so chase threw what he needed in a backpack, and set it by the door. They would leave tomorrow morning to go to save sailor. When he was finished, he found Tomb in their room, sitting on the bed. He smiled to himself and ran into the room, lightly tackling her onto the bed and tickling her up and down her ribs. She laughed and squirmed and eventually fought back, rolling him on his back. The tickle fight turned into a kiss as he pulled her body into him, running his hands from the top of her back to her waist, and kissing her passionately.

message 312: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled when she said that she'd one, and then flipped her onto her back, pinning her on the bed. He smiled and whispered, "I won" and kissed her. He eased himself down next to her, sliding his arm underneath her and cradling her in his arms. He leaned over and ave her a flurry of kisses all over her face and neck. She laughed some more, smiling as he kissed her. When he stopped, he puled back and looked at her. She was as beautiful as ever, her hair splayed out around her, dark eyes shining, pale cheeks red, as if she was blushing, and her smile spreading across her face. It was an image he would never forget, as he was mentally processing it and memorizing it, burning it in his brain. He was smiling without even trying. "I love you so much baby."

message 313: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled some more. "If you say so love. But maybe next time try to win without a knife at your gut." He said playfully, kissing her some more. He started tracing hearts on her stomach, making her giggle occasionally when he hit a ticklish spot. He would never ever be happier than when he was with her. He could not believe in this confusing scary time, he'd found someone that would make it all worth it. "You know, I would not have had any of this happen any other way baby. It was all worth It to be with you. No one has ever looked at me like you, seen me like you, related to me like you. I can't imagine going through all of this without you baby. Thank you. I can't eve express what I want to tell you Tomb." He said, looking deep into her eyes.

message 314: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments They laid there like that for a while, entangled with each other. It must've been ten o'clock when chase decided they should get ready, for bed. "Hey, let's get ready for bed ok?" He said. She nodded and went to change into some pjs, as he snagged a cotton shirt and some light, soft pants and put them on. When she padded back into his room, she flipped the light off and closed the door leaving it open a crack. She crawled into bed next to him and cuddled up to him. He accepted her with open arms, giving her a strong embrace once she was in his arms. He smiled to himself as they settled into bed comfortably, tomb next to him, nothing in the world that could ruin his mood. He was with her, and right now, that was all that mattered.

message 315: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened to tomb fall asleep, and he followed shortly. He was not the first one up this morning because he could feel Tomb shaking him awake. As he came to his senses, he realized it was earlier than when they usually got up, and tried to roll over and go back to bed. He received a pillow to the face for it and mumbled, "fine fine, I'm up. Jeez, morning to you too beautiful." She was at the edge of the bed, awake and alert, already dressed. He sat up, rubbed his eyes and looked at her. "Only crazy people and fishermen get up this early Tomb, it's like five in the morning." She just handed him some laundry he'd done yesterday and slipped out of the room. He changed and walked out into the room. He was dressed for battle with a black shirt, forest army camo bottoms from the night of the young ones birthday party, black combat boots, knife in a leg sheath and his recently acquired concealed knife strapped to his calf.

message 316: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase and Tomb had set out early, while the camp was still sleeping. He suggested they do the first mile or so on the ground to warm them up and so that if someone from camp did walk outside, they wouldn't see chase and tomb flying off into the distance. They had left a note on their kitchen table for mars, but hopefully they wouldn't be gone long enough to raise any concerns, they had everything they needed including the ability blocker tomb had asked mars for. Her excuse was for a camper who didn't have good control of their powers, and mars had given it to her without a second thought. Chase thought it had been very clever of her. For a mile or so, they hiked in silence. When they go a good ways away, chase shifted to cloth to make himself lighter and said, "we,should be good to fly now."

message 317: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase wasn't sure that was a good idea, but he just nodded. They flew fast and low towards the rivals camp, coming in stealthily. It was and hour or so by the time they reached it, and tomb was tired from the flight. They landed in a tree about a hundred yards from camp. Tomb shifted into a cat to make herself more comfortable, while chase just kept low and shifted into bark. "Get some sleep tomb, that flight wore you out and you are no good to me or your sister tired. I will watch camp and run surveillance. Grab a nap ok?" He said. She hesitated, but nodded, seeming to decide that she wanted to be ready for whatever came tonight's. as she slept, chase watched the camp intently. He did not see sailor, but he saw a lot of captain. That couldn't be good.

message 318: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb fell into a troubled stupor, and he was sure it wasn't a sound sleep. When she woke, the sun was going down, and the rivals were headed indoors. He hadn't seen sailor all day, but captain kept going into a structure at the edge of camp with no windows or vents. Where was sailor. When he asked Tomb, she listened intently for a moment and confirmed his suspicion that sailor, was in fact, in the building with no windows or vents. "Ok, once it gets later, we will get closer. It's almost time." Chase whispered to her. The sun continued sinking into the horizon, streaking the sky in pinks and purples. He was getting really jumpy as he wanted to get this underway, not wanting to sit around anymore, but he stuck it out and waited.

message 319: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase saw all of this going on and simply could not believe it. He was extremely interested in psychology and he knew that there was some weird phenomenon at play here that probably had a fancy name and a ton of research behind it. Whatever it was, captain had to be extremely manipulative. Tomb was on his back, watching this go on and he gave a flinch as she sheathed and unsheathed her claws in cat form. Tomb was extremely agitated, and he couldn't blame her. Chase watched on as captain led sailor to a hut, and the light in the hut went out. It was time for bed. As suspected, Wolfgang was patrolling the village, walking around the perimeter and keeping guard. Chase bristled at the sight of him and squeezed his fists. He was going to give that guy what he deserved.

message 320: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He felt Tomb bit his neck and relaxed and he relaxed a little bit, remembering their objective. When Tomb flew off, chase grabbed his rubber ball and jumped out of the tree, landing on the ground with a dull thud. He changed back into wood, dropping his rubber into his pocket and grabbing a piece of bark. He crept to the camp, being careful to not make any noise. When he reached the camp, he camouflaged himself against a tree and waited for Wolfgang to come around. When he did, chase gave a quiet whistle. Wolfgang immediately shifted into a wolf and stalked toward his position. He waited until Wolfgang was within arms reach, and when he looked away, chase leapt. He shifted to metal as he leapt, dropping the bark from his hand. When he landed on him, Wolfgang gave a yelp, but chase immediately put the wolf in a chokehold. The wolf struggled, but chase held fast, the teeth and claws having no effect on his metal carapace. The wolfs movements got slower and weaker, and when he was unconscious, he allowed him to breathe again. He dragged him into the forest and made sure he was still alive, and then stalked back to the camp, looking for tomb.

message 321: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was watching sailor and captains hut intently. He saw tomb, in wolf form, sneak out of the hut. He caught her attention and signaled that they should meet at the edge of the Forrest. When they met, he lifted sailor off of tombs back so she could shift to herself again. "Good job, Wolfgang is out cold, not dead, so let's get out of here. I don't want to be here any longer." He replied, hoping that they could get out of there quickly. Chase turned cloth, still carrying sailor, and was lifted into the air by tomb. She flew faster than he'd ever felt her fly before. The air whipped his hair and stung his eyes, but he didn't complain, he was just glad their mission had gone smoothly and that they had gotten sailor. The hard part would be yet to come, but for now, he enjoyed their little victory.

message 322: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase held sailor as they made their way to their home. Sailor must've been exhausted, because she was asleep in chases arms before they reached their house. When they got there, he carried her into tombs bedroom and tucked her in. Tomb, who was next to him, leaned down and kissed sailors head and brushed some hair out of her face. Chase said, "I'll leave you alone with her for a little bit. I think she'd like to see you if she wakes up." He edged towards the door and left Tomb with her poor sister, hoping that sailor would understand and maybe let them help. He went into the hallway and hung around outside, wanting to be able to be there for Tomb if she needed him.

message 323: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had heard the commotion, but he thought seeing him might provoke sailor to do something rash, so he stayed right outside the door, ready to bust in at any moment. He heard them talking and was relieved he did not walk in or as sailor put it, she would have killed him, the blonde play thing. He listened on as Tomb replied that he wasn't in the home at the moment. It was a good bluff, he just hoped sailor didn't call it. Every muscle in his body was tense, waiting to leap into action if need be. He teased his knife out of his sheath just an inch, hoping he wouldn't have to draw it out anymore. There was a tense moment, but sailor seemed to buy it. Thank god.

message 324: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase felt something hit the door. He couldn't stand it any longer, something was happening and someone was gonna get hurt. He stepped into the room, just in time to see the sisters about to go at it, but they turned and looked at him surprisedly. He saw the throwing star and gave a frown to the two girls that were looking at him. The slid his hands into his pocket and- wait, what the hell? In his pocket, he felt something, like a photo- ohhhhhhhhh. Chase knew what it was. These were the pants he had worn when he had found that picture of sailor and tomb in the closet. "Woah, before both of you kill me, let me say one thing, then I'll go on a walk." He said. They looked at each other and Tomb shrugged, sailor just stared. "Sailor, we don't want to hurt you. Me and Tomb came to save you from capt- hey! Put that knife away. Jesus. Ok, as I was saying. We just wanted to save you from captain. He was abusing you, manipulating you. He would have you believe that no one cares for you, not even your own sister. But I can prove that's not true. Take a look at tombs eyes in this photo, and take a look at them know. They are very different, but there's still love in them." He explained, handing her the picture he'd found in the closet. And with that, he turned to leave.

message 325: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase stopped when Tomb cast her gaze his way. She wanted him to stay, so he did. When sailor said that captain really did love her, chase thought a moment. "Sailor, I think he does love you, but the way he tries to ensure that you love him back is abusive. Sailor, never ever, under any circumstances would I ever lock her in a dark room and call it love. Right now, if I tried to force Tomb into a small confined dark space, and she screamed and called for help like you did, begging to not be put it there, like you did, would you sit there and watch going, awww he must really love her? What kind of affection does that show. Sailor, you pretended to be my girlfriend for a little bit. During the times when I thought you were Tomb, did I ever hurt you like captain did? Ever force your love like captain does?" He asked, giving sailor a soft look.

message 326: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When sailor started freaking out, he stood ready with his metal, rubber, and cloth. Whichever was needed. "Sailor, sailor, calm down, woah there. Hey, we aren't saying he doesn't love you, we are saying that his love is toxic and that you would be better off without it. There are others that do love you sailor. Tomb loves you, she really does, or else she wouldn't have come after you. I know you have no love for me, but I care what happens to you, at least enough to put my life on the line to get you from your camp where I could have been slashed to bits like last time. Oh, and er, I'm sorry for throwing that knife at you, I uh, I was trying to save Tomb. Um... no hard feelings about that right?" He said. He had just realized he'd never apologized to her. Hey, maybe she still had his knife and he could still get it back! He mentally slapped himself and refocused.

message 327: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When they got into the hall, Tomb let herself go, collapsing into chase, tears welling in her eyes. He lowered himself and her onto the floor so she could sit and lean on him. She was exhausted, tired, on a rollercoaster of emotions and quite frankly, chase didn't know how she had held it together for so long. He held her, comforting her, telling her it was gonna be alright. "Hey, hey, we knew it wasn't going to happen overnight. We knew it was going to be tough. It's going to be ok Tomb, we can help sailor. She's here with us, safe, and that's all that matters right now. I am stay outside her door while you sleep if you like, I know you must be exhausted from today, and you look so very tired love." He said, pulling her close to him, helping her get through the tears and sadness that he knew would accompany the rescue.

message 328: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He just hugged her and rubbed her back. After a little while he replied, "no matter what had happened, I would've found a way to get you back, even if it meant starting out just getting you to not be afraid around me. I would've done whatever it had took to get you back. But I need you to remember something for me ok baby? I would never do those things to you, ok? Never. So if that happens to you ever again, just remember, I would never hurt you." He said soothingly. She nodded and hurried her head against his chest. He continued to hold her and whispered soothing things into her ear. She slowly calmed down until she was back to herself, strong, somewhat intimidating, and confident.

message 329: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Have sat outside sailors door, playing with his knife. He had tried to get Tomb to go to bed, but she seemed to want to go tell mars, so he had let her. He'd been sitting there for an hour when sailors door opened a crack. "I'm hungry." She said, giving him a hate filled stare. "Well, good, thing the fridge is full, come on, lets go see what we got." He said, slowly wishing to his feet and heading toward the kitchen. Chase was wary, but he seriously doubted she would come after him. She grabbed some left over pizza and ate it all, seeming to be in an extremely hungry mood. Before sailor went back to her room. Chase said to her, "sailor, you may not know it, but Tomb is glad to have you .

message 330: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase looked at the photo. It was obvious that it had been taken during better times, happier times, when there was no hatred between the two. Tomb wasn't back yet and he was starting to worry about her, she would have come back by now. He wanted to go look for her, but he could not leave sailor alone or else she might just run away, right back to captain. That would not be good, especially after they just went on a dangerous mission to get her back. But still, tomb should. It have been gone this long and it really worried him. What if the rivals had already come after them, and they somehow had Tomb right now. What if they were torturing her again right now. He paced back and forth nervously, his stomach tying itself in knots.

message 331: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was sitting in the kitchen with a hot chocolate that had gone cold. When Tomb walked in, he let out a huge sigh of relief and slumped back in his chair, all of the tension in his body leaving. He'd known he was being paranoid, but it was hard not to be, especially with the dangers he knew were out there. "Sailor is asleep. She had a bunch of frozen pizza and then went to bed. She was really tired. I..." he trailed off into a yawn, as he was quite tired himself. He had stayed up most the night in a state on anxiety, wondering where Tomb had been. It wasn't that he thought she couldn't take care of herself, in fact, just the opposite. He thought she might go looking for trouble , might go after captain.

message 332: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase nodded, but first responded with a laugh, "tomb, you and I both know that I'm not looking after you. I'm not making sure they don't get you, I'm making sure you don't go after them." She smiled at this, and he did as well. It was kinda funny that he wasn't protecting her from trouble, he was trying to reign her from going to look for it. Chase sighed heavily and got up to go to his room. He wrapped Tomb in a hug and gave her a kiss, and then trudged off into his room. He changed into pajama pants, but decided to leave off his shirt, as it was a warmer temperature outside and the AC wasn't quite keeping up with the heat. He clicked on the fan and flopped on the bed, relaxing into the comfortable mattress. He closed his eyes and waited for sleep to claim him.

message 333: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase slept for a few hours, but his rest was uneasy. He woke just as the sun had parted from the horizon, making the early morning light streak into his room. He got up and walked into the living room where Tomb was sleeping, a blanket pulled up to her chin. He walked to sailors room, to make sure she was still there and hadn't walked out, which would've been bad. But alas, sailor was still in her bed, sleeping soundly under the covers, giving long deep breaths. He walked back into the kitchen and poured a bowl of Cheerios as he boiled some water for a hot chocolate. He hadn't finished his last night and he really loved drinking the chocolaty stuff.

message 334: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase laughed and grabbed her mug, he poured the hot water into both of the mugs, but added some ice cubes to rains so it wasn't too hot. Chase then stirred in the chocolate powder, and had to keep rain from eating the pure powder by promising it tasted better with water. When he handed rain her cup, she blew on it once and then drained the cup. Chase just shook his head in awe as rain looked up and said, "two Tomb now? I like one tomb. Two Tomb mean less candy fo me." She said matter of factly. Chase smiled and said, "poor little girl, I'll make sure they don't take your candy, I promise." He said. She thought about it and then nodded, seeming satisfied by his answer, and then she walked out. Well, that was... different.

message 335: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase stared at her. There was absolutely no way he was going to let her go alone. No chance in hell. "Absolutely not. You can take either me or Tomb with you and that's final. I'm not letting you go off around camp alone, not just for the campers protection but for yours as well. Some of the people that know you're here aren't exactly happy you're with us. So you are going to take me or Tomb wherever you go. Once we trust you enough, then you can do stuff alone. Sailor, this place has become my home, and I would love for it to become yours too, but if you try and hurt it or the people who live here, I will no longer be willing to stick my neck out for you like I am now." He said to her.

message 336: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was flushed with anger, but he kept himself under control. "Sailor, I'm sorry you believe that, but it isn't true. I choose to help you because when you lost it in the forest just outside of camp, you decided not to kill me, I saw what looked like a shred of humanity left in you. A part of you that wanted to be done with the killing and fighting. I saw a girl who was bitter and angry at the world for the straw she drew and had resigned herself to playing a role that she thought was predetermined for her. I want to prove you wrong. I want to show you that you can be whatever you want to be. And if you can do it, then so can Tomb. Both of you have given up on the chance at a god damn life. You resign yourselves to the fact that this is all that's out there. I'm trying to show you differently. And if Tomb sees you can do it, then maybe she'll try too, hell, maybe the whole camp will try. I'm not doing this just for Tomb, I'm doing it for every goddamn camper here that thinks this is all there is to life. I'm showing them that this isn't all there is and this is all they are. That they can be whoever they choose to be. So don't talk down to me like you were dealt a losing hand and are playing the cards given to you, because that's bullshit sailor. You chose to be who you are right now, and you can choose to be someone different. And I'm going to do it right. Let it be clear, I do not trust you, and I know you do not trust me. Trust is earned, not demanded or bought." He replied in a harsh whisper so Tomb didn't overhear and wake up.

message 337: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase wanted to say more, yell after her that they had never even tried to do more than evil, that they just reverted to it, but he decided it wasn't worth it. He hadn't eaten yet, which was good, because he really needed to go for a run. He left a note on the table, put on his running stuff, and headed out. He always ran on how he was feeling, and right now, he was really pissed. So he ran fast, at about a 6 minute pace, crashing through the forest. When he got about three miles out, he slowed his pace just a little so he would be able to go longer. He was really cooking as he came to what his gps watch (a garmin forerunner) said was six miles. If he went back the way he came it would be a solid 12 miler, one of his longer runs.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was on his 3rd mile back when he was blindsided by pain. It overtook his whole body, causing him to fall in a series of convulsions. He tried to get up, but all of a sudden there was wolf on top of him with his teeth at his throat. He was in too much pain to shift into the metal in his sock. The pain subsided a little and when he looked up, captain was right in his face, "where is she? Tell me now or I will kill you and then that pesky sister of sailors. Tell me now." Chase gritted his teeth and managed to respond with, "she'll rip you to shreds before you even see her coming. She will destroy you before you can even think to protect yourself." For this, he received a flurry of blows to his side, and then a bag is shoved over his head. Chase expects to be dragged back to the rivals camp, but instead, he is shoved forward and lead straight towards his own. They are headed to attack the camp.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase stumbled along for half an hour as his pursuers kept the pace up, pushing and shoving him from behind. This went on for about 30 min until he was forced to his knees. He wasn't in too bad of shape as he hadn't taken too much of a beating, and he still had his metal disc in his shoe. But that would do no good against captains pain though, so chase waited, hoping he'd get an opportunity to attack. He heard captain say something, but then he raised his voice to a yell. "Where is she! Where is my princess! Give her to me now or I slit Tim mans throat. You have sixty seconds, I suggest you chose wisely." The sack was ripped off chases head and what he saw was an empty camp, though he suspected everyone was hiding.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had been about to attack, seeing as some of the rivals were encircled in fire, but it stopped almost as quickly as it started. That's when sailor came running out telling captain to stop. She looked distressed, as if she were being ripped straight down the middle. Chase mentally cursed, thinking now that the rivals had sailor, all was lost. He expected sailor to run right into captains arms, but she stayed standing in the center of the field, between the two groups. Captain had a blade out now, and chase could feel it hovering inches from his neck. "Come here sailor, we have come to save you. We all miss you very much and are here to free you from these kidnappers. Come on over princess." Captain called out to her, narrowing his eyes.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Captain widened his eyes as he heard sailor talk. "Sailor, you've changed. Come back right now, this is your last chance. As of right now you already have two days in the box. Would you like me to keep adding onto that number?" He said, venom dripping in his voice. Chase watched as sailor hesitated, it looked like she was gonna go back, and chase had to stop her. "Don't do it! Not for me!" He yelled before captain could stop him. He felt the knife get pressed into his skin. He couldn't even swallow now without getting cut now, let alone talk. Captain leaned over and said to him in a low voice, "do not think that I won't slit your throat, because trust me, I will do it and sleep like a baby." Chase was still looking at sailor who again faltered, he gave her a dry smile, trying to convey to her not to go back.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Captain stood there befuddled. How could sailor be doing this to him? Why would she do this to him. "You aren't the sailor I knew. You aren't her. The old sailor would have never said something like that. The old sailor knew that there was nothing the world could give her, that she'd been born with a curse. Why not use that curse now and end these people who are going to reject you, hate you.the sailor I loved would never have said what you are saying now." Captain growled, rage obvious in his voice, but sailor held her ground, didn't even hesitate. Captain saw he had lost her and made his decision. Chase had been watching for the arm to tense, so when it did, chase was a solid block of steel. Captain confused at first, as chase was not dead, roared. But before he could do any damage, chase grabbed his arm and flipped him over his shoulder. Captain landed on the grass in front of him and chase punched him, square in the face. He was pretty sure he broke his cheek and jaw, but he was knocked out cold. Tomb sprang up from behind chase and growled at the rivals in panther form. They all looked stunned. Sailor was kneeling next to chase, tears in her eyes.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase leapt into the battle with just his metal self, he found Artemis, the boy who destroyed everything he touched and started circling him. Artemis lunged with his hands, but chase dodged, kicking his shin as he went by. The poor boy went down and held his shin. He gingerly got up, howling in pain, but he kept at chase. He ducked and dodged Artemis, kicking and punching him when he got the opportunity. Finally, when Artemis lunged, chase delivered a hay maker that left the boy on the ground. He wasn't sure if he was dead, but he was definitely out for a while. He turned to see tomb standing in the clearing, some nasty cuts on her neck and chest. She seemed a little confused, chase ran over, grabbed her hand and shoved her onto a stretcher that was being held by two medics. When she protested he said, "just get stitched up and then come back. You can help finish up the fighting if we need you to, but you are bleeding too much." She was gone before she could protest. He turned back, but truth be told, the fighting was already winding down.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was walking around the aftermath making sure campers were alright and hoping to try and figure out what was left of the rivals forces. When he saw sailor on top of captain, he frowned. She would not like what would come net. He grabbed the ability blocker mars had given him and alkyd over to where sailor and captain were. She had let down her smoke bubble, but was still with him, whispering to him. He recognized a broken heart when he saw it, and boy, was sailors broken. When chase walked over, he gently put a hand on sailors shoulder. She glared at him but he just said, "I'm sorry it had to happen, we are just going to put him in a cell after the doctors set his face." She considered this, and seemed to decide it was better than not getting help. He applied the ability blocker and sent him off with two doctors and two campers, telling them to fix him, and then put him in a cell. He looked down at sailor who was utterly defeated. He offered her his hand, hoping maybe he could take her to his and tombs house for a nap.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had not appreciated being shoved to the floor at all, but he really didn't blame her. After all that she'd been through, how could he? He wanted to say something to sailor, maybe try to comfort her, but he decided it wasn't his place and it definitely wasn't the right time. He walked out of his house looking for Tomb, hoping she'd been stitched up and maybe even feeling ok. When he found her, she was talking to mars, spear in hand. That was not good. He walked up and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned, and promptly slapped him across the face. He was more or less expecting it, after getting captured and making her go to get fixed up. He braced for a second one, but instead she was hugging him. He hugged her back, and said jokingly, "man, you and sailor. What is with you guys and hitting and shoving me."

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I'm fine, just the slight cut on my neck, but that's it." He replied, examining her. There was a lot of blood on the hem of her shirt and the front of it, but it looked dried and somewhat old, so the bleeding must've stopped. "Uh, your sister is in her room and I definitely thinks she needs someone. She's all alone and she's hurting from captain. I think she could use some ice cream and a chic flick or something, at least, that's what all the girls at my old high school did. Whatever you do, she needs you. I'll be back in a little bit, I'm gonna make sure everything is good here, and then I'll head home ok?" Chase added, thinking of how sad and broken sailor must be. He hadn't exactly been comforting towards her. He'd kinda tensed and froze up when she cried on his shoulder, and he was sure that it had only made her feel rejected. He'd have to apologize later.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase walked around the camp, talking to the campers and trying to find out if they had lost anyone. Dice and Rain were safe, Nike had gotten injured but was in stable condition at the hospital, and. Neus had broken an arm, but everybody had come out alive. He was elated to hear this and went to the mess hall and ordered some fish and chips. Alana was there, and she came and sat by him, looking tired. He'd seen her during the fight and he had to admit, she had been pretty impressive, but it helped to have telekinesis. They ate in silence, not necessarily wanting to talk, just not wanting to sit alone. When he finished his food, he nodded to Alana and went for a walk around camp, letting himself relax as he strolled around the houses.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase decided he was tired and hoped he'd given sailor and Tomb enough time because he needed to sleep. When he walked into the house there was no one in the living room or kitchen, so he went straight to his room having already eaten. When he opened his door, tomb sat up and looked at him. He could see worry evident in her eyes from the days events. "Oh baby. Oh my darling, it's going to be alright ok? Hey, we can do this." He said, climbing in bed and wiping a tear from her cheek. She leaned on him and didn't say anything. He could tell she had definitely had better days. He wanted to do something to cheer her up, but he wasn't sure. Then he smiled to himself. "Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world. She took the midnight train going anywhere. Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit. He took the midnight train going anywhere." He sang softly. The song seemed appropriate, because it kinda described how they came together. Him coming from the city, her coming from this small camp. He continued to sing the song, and when he was finished, he whispered to her, "don't stop believing babe. Give it time."

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase knew Tomb was only half listening, but he didn't really care. He just wanted to help ease her tension. His mind drifted to how earlier she had been so torn, how she wouldn't be accepted at camp and what they were going to do with her. "Hey tomb, listen to me for a second. On the main land, there were some people that would live completely alone and off the grid in the wilderness. They said they liked it because they felt it was easier to find comfort in ones own mind. I could take sailor to the opposite side of the island where it is uninhabited and show her some survival tips. Show her how to gather, hunt, make fire, purify water and such. I did it back home for fun, and maybe I could teach her some of it. She could live out there and visit when she felt like it. Maybe it would be good for her." He suggested, just kind of hoping to find an option that sailor might like.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb left, chase thought to himself about sailors predicament. It was a tough one, and certainly one with no perfect solution, but there had to be something. He wasn't going to give up on his idea quite yet, maybe he'd ask sailor about it sometime, see what she thought. He put that mess aside and let his mind wander. It ended at his family. Oh how he missed them, especially his younger sister. He remembered them all, waving goodbye to him, as he was taken away. It was a painful memory, and he wished he could drown it out. He wished he could drown a few things out. He went into the kitchen and went to the locked cabinet above the fridge. Hard had told him that the camps liquor was there, but someone had lost the key and it had become somewhat forgotten, until chase moved in. He found a bobby pin in the bathroom, along with a pair of needle nose pliers and was able to jimmy the lock. He inspected the dusty contents of the cabinet, and selected a bottle of Templeton rye whisky. He grabbed the boom box, turned the volume down and played whisky river by Johnny bush, as he drank.
