Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase wasn't quite sure what he'd just witnessed. He'd never seen a camper give so much attitude to Tomb. Never. He was confused, and before thinking better of it, he asked, "ok, that was weird right? She follows us, rolls in, kills the two dudes, then gives you a whole bunch of attitude. What just happened? I'm doing the math in my head and it isn't adding up. And she did that thing that you do. Man it's like she is trying to be you. Haha, bet she's jealous that you saved the camp and wants to show off to you a bit. Man, that was just odd." He said. But then he turned to,actually look at Tomb. He'd been looking at where Alana had disappeared, but when he looked at Tomb, she was ready to murder someone. And he was the closest living thing, so he kept his rubber ball in hand. "Uh, tomb, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to kill campers, just take deep breaths..." he trailed off because Tomb was giving him the scariest, if you move I'll kill you and your next of kin, stare he had ever seen from her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase followed her, but kept quiet, not wanting to anger her more. They continued walking, searching through the perimeter, looking for more rivals, but saw none. He was walking behind tomb on the final stretch of the perimeter, kicking stones, and mindlessly cutting down weeds when a thought came to him. What had Alana been about to say? She'd been about to say something about tomb, but hadn't elaborated. He hadn't thought it was important, but now he was curious. He looked at her as she trekked through the woods and decided now was the best time to ask considering when they got back, she'd probably be whisked away to training. "Hey tomb, can I ask a question?" He didn't get a response so he decided to press on. "Um, when Alana was talking to us, she was about to say something about you but didn't complete the thought. What was that about? I mean, it was confusing." He said really, really cautiously.

message 103: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He listened to her response and nodded, wondering what Alana had been about to say, maybe he'd ask her later if he got the chance. When Tomb walked him with her spear, he realized he'd been kinda spacing out. Scared? Was he scared right now? "I'm not necessarily scared as much as I am on edge. I don't know if you noticed or not, but you tend to punch people when you get angry, and I'd definitely like to avoid taking a punch without being ready." He said holding up his rubber ball in his hand. "Also, I'm thinking about why those guys were around camp. I mean, is something gonna go down?" He asked a little worried. He just wanted to take a while and sit down to think about the events of the day. A lot of excitement for his first day up and around camp.

message 104: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb led him into camp and tried to force him into his house, which he had forgotten about because he'd actually never used it. He'd been gone since the day he got here, and then in the hospital after that, so the walls seemed empty and lonely. Almost sad, no wonder most people got roommates around here. "Ah tomb, cmon! Let me help! Look how dark and depressing this place looks! The place basically screams 'hello darkness my old friend'! I wanna know what's going on! What's happening! Look, I haven't even come close to dying yet!" He protested as she pushed him into the entrance hall of this depressing little place. "And I don't even know how to cook! I burned ramen once!" He said, adding to his argument.

message 105: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase raised an eyebrow. " because I love you so much and your my favorite camper huh? Last time I went somewhere alone with you I almost died." He reminded her, earning a laugh. He went into the kitchen and looked through the cupboards and pantry, taking note of what there was to eat. He then went to the fridge, checking what was in there. When he got to the freezer, he sighed with relief. "Ok love of my life and most amazing awesome camper, how does frozen pizza sound? I'm pretty sure I can make this." He said, not sounding very confident. He set the oven to heat up and when it was ready, threw the pizza in, and set a timer. It would be embarrassing if he burned a frozen pizza in front of tomb.

message 106: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Oi, tomb, cut it out! I may have just gotten this house, but I don't want scratch marks all over it. Get off of there." he said as he lifted her from the counter, but as he lifted her, she turned into a full grown leopard, just to make things hard on him, and he fell over, with a leopard landing on top of him. "Toooooommmmmmbbbb, you have got to be kidding me! I swear to god I'll go hand to hand with a leopard right now." He said teasingly. She just continued on, shifting into a fox and nipping at his heels. "Really? Tomb what has gotten into you?" He said scolding her, as he was sure she was laughing at this. The timer went off and he took the pizza out of the oven, but had to wait a little bit to let it cool. All the while, tomb shifted into different animals, hampering his efforts, finally, he playfully tackled a full grown wolf, taking on rubber as to not accidentally hurt her.

message 107: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Beat me!?!? Had I a knife you would've been just as badly beaten." He complained, laughing as she helped him up. She demanded food, and he figured the pizza was probably cool enough to eat. He cut it up and served her a few slices, taking some for himself. "Man, I can remember the last time I had that much fun. Never wrestled around with a wolf before." He said grinning at her and taking a bite of pizza. "You were at least not as annoying as you were in cat form." He said teasing her. They sat and ate pizza, and he turned on the tv, flipping through the channels, looking for something good to watch. He looked over at Tomb and said, "what does tomb watch on the television? Soap operas? CSI? Romances? Comedy perhaps?" He joked with her, laughing at the look she gave him.

message 108: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase watched the show. It,actually wasn't that bad. In this particular episode, dean, Sam, and an angel, Castiel, were fighting some dudes called the leviathan, who were poisoning the food, turning the world into fat, sluggish, and apparently tasty prey. Interesting. He looked over at Tomb who was eating pizza and watching supernatural. He thought about how much she deserved this, after everything that was going on recently, she totally needed a break from everything. "Hey tomb, I finally figured out a name for my power." He said randomly. It was true, he had been thinking of this awhile and had gotten a pretty good name for his ability. "I'm a materializer. Any material I touch, I become. Not bad huh?" He said, raising his eyebrows.

message 109: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Well, that had been fun while it lasted chase thought. They'd have to do it again sometime, assuming they lived long enough. Chase had his orbs and dagger out in a second, and was racing after Tomb toward the southern border. That where they had encountered enemies earlier, so it made sense that's where they'd be. Tomb raced ahead of him flying, and that left chase in a dead sprint, trying to get there in time. When he got there, tomb had thrown herself into battle, so chase did the same. He saw no sailor, or captain, so he wasn't worried about instant pain, or suicide, buy he did have to watch out for Artemis, who was trying to get his hands on people and turning them to ash. He turned metal, and launched into battle.

message 110: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments The fight was going well, and they were about to win, when all of a sudden, black smoke started to curl around the battlefield. Chase held his breath, having met this danger before, and retreated to tomb and Alana. Sailor stepped out of the fray, and looked around at the campers, choking on her smoke, being held down by rivals. Her eyes scanned the battle and landed on chase. "You. I will kill you first." She said to him. He would be fine as long as he held his breath, but he could not hold it forever. Nike, who was in the air, beat her wings hard, buffeting the black smoke away, allowing some of the campers to take some breaths. Alana turned invisible, and sent a knife at sailor, tomb ran for her throat, and chase joined the charge to just generally add more chaos to It. He hoped it would work.

message 111: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had been about to lunge when he fell to the ground, gasping at the pain that now coursed through him. They were so very screwed, the rivals were going to kill them. Captain walked over to chase. "I must admit, I am surprised this one is still alive." He said with distaste. Just then, chase got an idea. He was in pain, but he could still shift materials, and he had his steel ball bearing in his hand. "Hey captain shit head, how was it waking up after taking a rock in the head and finding a knife in you're girlfriends side?" He called through a grimace. Captain stopped and turned, an expression on his face reserved for killing. "Yeah, I planned on killing her slowly, but sadly I missed her liver. Oh just the thought of her liver rupturing, and you sitting there, not doing anything about it makes me smile." He said again. Captain strode over and reared back to kick him. Chase smiled. As captains foot came forward, chase raised his arm to where his shin would connect, and as it did he turned to metal. Captain let out a howl of pain as his shin connected, breaking where it made contact with chase. The pain stopped, as captain lost his concentration, and the campers got to their feet, slowly.

message 112: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase almost immediately regretted his decision. Captain was screaming, delirious for pain, sailor was screaming in a different language, Alana was getting all fired up in Spanish and then the black smoke rushed toward him and completely stuffed itself up his nose ears and mouth. Instantly he wanted to kill himself. He wanted nothing more than to slash his wrists and impale himself through the chest. He had no control over his own body, his fingers released his bearing into his pocket, and he turned back into flesh. He raised his knife, trying to fight it, and barely held back. His mind was screaming at him that it wanted to die, but he held. Not for long though, as he made a cut on his wrist before he could restrain himself. He turned the knife around and brought it towards his chest, all of a sudden, the smoke dissipated, and he managed to tiver the knife into his shoulder. The knife sunk in 2 inches, as he had greatly reduced the speed of the blade but could not stop it. It was like being through in control of a body and only able to barely gain control quickly enough. He turned to steel, leaving the knife imbedded in his shoulder, but it wasn't bad, just a prick.

message 113: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was being dragged away, protesting saying he was fine, when he saw sailor stab tomb. He watched as Tomb was stabbed through the back. No. That couldn't be, he wasn't seeing correctly. But it was happening. He pushed Alana away as a new wave of campers and rivals came charging in. He turned to flesh and yanked the knife out of himself. He grabbed his bearing and charged forward. He was a metal whirlwind, slashing throats, stabbing, punching, kicking and destroying with one goal in mind. Get. To. Tomb. When he got there, he pulled sailor off of tomb, throwing her to the ground. He turned to tomb, and caught her as she fell. She was bleeding heavily in his arms, and she had a distant look in her eyes. He got up, her in his arms, sprinting to the hospital. "Oh no you don't Tomb, cmon, stay with me Tomb. Cmon, your gonna be alright, it's nothing. You can't die Tomb, you can't. Stay with me, please Tomb. I... you..." he stammered defeated, still sprinting to the hospital. "Tomb... don't leave me. Please..." was all he could manage as he ran through the doors, whatever doctors were there rushed to his aid. But he wasn't sure she was gonna make it. Just before she was wheeled away, he leaned into her ear and whispered, "tomb... I love you." He said, feeling ashamed he had waited till the very last second to say it. He couldn't deny it, it was true. He'd known as soon as he woke up that night in the hospital, when she had been there for him. And. Ow he might never see her again.

message 114: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase watched as Tomb was rushed off. He didn't know if he would ever see her again.he didn't want to think about it, so he just walked out and back to the battle that was still raging. Sailor and captain were gone, though he thought for sure there was no way for her to survive the injuries Tomb inflicted. He flew into battle, fighting furiously, for the camp, for his life, for tomb. He was a wrecking ball, bowling over opponents, slashing and stabbing. He grabbed a sword from a fallen rival and continued on. He could've died multiple times but no one seemed to be able to take him. Finally the rivals retreated, seeing that the battle would not be won. He helped move campers back to the hospital, and just waited. Waited for something, anything. Then the doctor who had taken Tomb walked out. He had blood all over him and he looked tired. Chase stood, trying to read the expression on the mans face. He got nothing, and just waited as the doctor stepped forward, waiting for a few words that would either crush him or relieve him. Either way, he could hardly bear the pressure anymore.

message 115: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tombs scream was probably the worst thing he'd ever heard. It shook him straight to the bone, abusing him to flinch. "Go help her! You have to ease her pain!" He yelled at the doctor, trying to push past him. "Tomb! Tomb are you ok? Tomb! I'm here!" He yelled down the hall. A couple of orderlies restrained him, and the doctor was disappearing into tombs room. Once he agreed to be cool, the orderlies released him and told him he'd be allowed to see her once the doctor was finished. It took forever, but he finally was allowed in the room. Tomb was unconscious but stable, for now at least. It was a hard sight to see, and tears came to his eyes. Friggin tomb, why had she gotten herself into this, always putting herself on the line. God damnit, she'd gone and gotten stabbed through her back and he hadn't been there to stop it. Tomb, with her hard stares and rare smiles. Oh tomb, what've you done? He thought.

message 116: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase's heart leaped when he heard her voice. "Tomb? The hell I will, you might run off and get killed! You frickin got stabbed in the back! You're lucky to be alive! God damn tomb! Friggin scared the hell outa me!" He said, almost yelling. He stopped himself and looked at her, laying restrained on the bed. "Yeah I'll unbind you as long as you stay laying down, you don't want to aggravate tour injury." He said, knowing he'd been wrong to yell at her. He unfastened the restraints on her arms and legs, being gentle not wanting to hurt her. Hen he was free, he sat on the edge of the bed, brushing hair out of her face. "Tomb, I thought I lost you. You shoulda seen how bad it was, I... I thought you were gonna die. I never thought I'd see you again. I can't believe you're here. Oh tomb, just, try not to almost die again ok?" He said, giving her a sad smile.

message 117: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He hugged tomb gently and laughed at her jokes, smiling and chuckling at her jokes. He was so glad that she was ok and he knew she would recover. When she asked about her sister he thought about it before he answered. Was she dead? He honestly didn't know. Her injuries had to be fatal, but he didn't know what the rivals were capable of as far as healing abilities. She certainly looked like she would die, but when he'd gotten back, he hadn't seen her where he'd left her after throwing her off tomb. "Tomb, I honestly don't know, after I took you to the hospital, I went back to the fight, but could not see her where she had fallen. Her injuries were terribly severe, but I don't know. She could still be alive, she could be dead." He said, telling her the truth. Maybe he should've just stabbed sailor just to be sure she was out of their hair, but he'd been so focused on tomb. He just didn't know if she was alive or not.

message 118: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He was taken aback at the comment that she'd heard him. How much had she heard he wondered, did she hear him say he loved her? He pulled off his shirt so she could look at his shoulder where he'd stabbed himself. She traced her fingers over the wound. The rest of his chest was basically scar tissue, but his shoulder had stitches, the wound still fresh. "How much did you hear?" He asked as she looked over his scars and cuts and stab wounds, a few bruises here and there. He looked at her as she considered his question, looking like she was trying to decide what she was going to tell him. He watched her intently waiting for her answer. If she didn't know what he said, would he tell her again, right here, right now? He didn't know.

message 119: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled at this. Here she was, impaled through the back, and she was asking for scotch. He agreed and walked across the campus to find it. He entered the kitchen which was dark and empty. He found the scotch, a 1999 Templeton Rye, and carried it back outside. The area looked like a war zone, because, well it had just been the spot for a war. He walked back into the hospital and grabbed two glasses. When he got back, tomb was sitting up, awaiting his return. "It's pretty expensive stuff, you sure mars will be ok with this? I don't think he'd like me raiding his kitchen." He said sarcastically, sharing a laugh with tomb. He poured the drinks and handed a glass to tomb. He took a drink and grimaced a bit, in account to the burn like taste that accompanied the drink.

message 120: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb drank her scotch, as did chase, but it was not his first drink. A couple nights before he was taken away, his dad had shared a drink with him, saying that they might not get the chance if the future, chase finished the glass and it did not do much for him other than burn on the way down. When Tomb made the comment about mars he didn't know why she wanted to beat him up, he thought it odd. "Why am I bringing mars to you so you can beat him up?" He asked, wondering what exactly the guy had done to deserve an apparent beating by the weak and bed ridden tomb in front of him he was pretty sure Tomb couldn't hit a fly if she tried In her present condition.

message 121: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Tomb, you were impaled through the back and not allowing anyone to help you. That's why they restrained you. Mars very well saved your life by keeping you from shifting. I know you don't like it, but it was for the best. Had he not beaten me to it, I would've done it." He admitted, flinching under the glare he received for that statement. "Cmon tomb, give mars a break, he's been doing a great job keeping camp morale up, and he's been checking in on you when he can." He said. Mars really had been doing great. He was feeding everyone and helping keep the morale up with some, albeit lame, jokes. Chase had done his part too, as when he wasn't at his bedside, he'd taken up teaching hand to hand. Some of the campers asked him to do this after they saw him fighting when he returned from bringing Tomb to the hospital. "We were just trying to help." He finished, trying to get Tomb to lose the fire in her eyes.

message 122: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He laughed at this question. she had been almost mortally wounded, and was asking him if he made it to the nurse quickly. That's tomb for ya I guess. "Well, after I brought you back here, I went back out to the battle to fight. What else was I gonna do? Have the nurse stitch a small cut and a minor stab wound, cmon, give me some credit tomb. Besides, I barely even noticed it." He told her, waiting for her to call him a walnut. Which was weird, because who calls someone a walnut? Tomb I guess. "Your gonna be out for at least a week, that rock punctured a lung and almost damaged your spine. Doctor said you were lucky." He commented, wondering how she'd take this.

message 123: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "You live in the small stone building on the north side right? I'll manage, mars would absolutely kill me if I interrupted his sleeping time, he's been busy." He said. Tomb informed him which draws to go through and he was off, going back over the camp, observing the grounds as he went. There wasn't any major destruction, but there were craters and charred spots everywhere. When he got to tombs house, he opened the door and stepped in. It felt weird being in tombs house alone. It felt like he shouldn't be there. He walked into her bedroom and to the bottom drawer of her dresser and grabbed some PJ's. he grabbed the most comfortable looking ones he could find and headed out. But as he was leaving, he saw an old photo. It was a woman, smiling, standing next to two girls holding hands. It was of tomb and her family, before everything went bad he guessed. They looked happy in this photo, making him sad about knowing what would happen. He hurried out, feeling like an intruder and went back to the hospital.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Haha, thanks! I thought you might be like, oh I see what ya did there.😂))

message 125: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was walking back when he saw the silhouette against the hospital, moving slowly, like it was trying to be stealthy. He tugged his knife out of his sheath and went to go investigate but after he got closer, he realized who it was. "Tomb! What the hell are you doing out here, I swear to god I will restrain you if you don't go back right now, what the heck are you thinking? Look! You're bleeding! You shouldn't even be walking around for a couple of days. Do you listen to anything I say? Ever?" He said, sounding mad. Why had she gotten up? What was so important to see? Maybe she'd just sent him away so she could sneak out here. Either way he wasn't happy and demanded her to go back inside.

message 126: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((SAME! THEY'RE HILARIOUS!))

message 127: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments That last question had really gotten to him. Why did he even care? How could he not? He'd been through so much with the girl, and he loved her. He looked hurt as he handed her the clothes he'd gotten. "Why do I care Tomb? That's a great question. Ever since I got here, you're the one who helped me out, who showed me the ropes. Then, i followed you to find the rivals and get rain, because I wanted to help. And when I almost died, you brought me back, you saved me tomb. You were the reason I wasn't alone. You were there for me. And when you almost died, I couldn't imagine not having you there and I... I..." he trailed off. He'd almost said I love you. She'd probably have smacked him or not said anything and just left him there. Chase had barely caught himself.

message 128: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I'm not mad at you for sailor stabbing you, you saved my life Tomb. I just... I care about what happens to you ok Tomb? I'd like to see a happy ending for you whatever that is for you. You deserve it." He said, hiding his face so she couldn't tell that he hadn't told her the whole truth. He helped her back to her room and eased her into bed. Chase then left the room so she could change into the clothes he had brought to her.

message 129: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was surprised by the offer. Of course he wanted to stay, but he hadn't been sure if Tomb would think it odd or not. "Of course I'll stay Tomb." He replied simply, overjoyed she had asked him. He dragged a chair to the side of her bed and laid his head next to her, holding her hand. She was quiet for a little bit, and during that time, chase did some thinking. He thought about what would happen after. Probably another deadly battle in which one of them would almost die. Lucky them. But if that was the case, he wanted Tomb to know how he felt. He had to tell her. She had the right to know. "Tomb, I need to tell you something. I... well... ok, I don't know when the next time the two of us will be able to talk like this, and I don't want to hide anything. Tomb, I love you." He said, looking her in the eyes, waiting for a response.

message 130: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase waited and when she asked why, he though about it. He laid his head on the pillow, facing her, looking into her eyes. He knew exactly why. "Well, why can be a hard question to answer. But I for me, it's simple. Tomb, you're the only one who ever looked at me with interest. You were the first one to say anything to me, and make me actually feel welcome. And when I woke up in the hospital, you were there, comforting me. Telling me it was alright. When I was dying, your face kept coming to mind, reminding me how much I care for you. You could've left me and ran, but you saved me. I don't think anyone else would do that for me. And when you almost died earlier, all I could think about was how much it mattered that you live. Some say a life's greatest realization is when they lose something they never thought they'd lose. I realized that I couldn't imagine life with you gone. I'm sorry to kinda spring this on you, but I don't want you dying and not knowing or me dying and not telling." He finished, still looking into her eyes.

message 131: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Why hadn't he said it sooner? That was a good question, with an answer that he was ashamed of. He was scared. We was scared that she'd hate him for it, that she'd laugh at him, or hit him. And when really had he had the time? They were always so busy. The only time he really could have was when they made pizza and watched supernatural, but then again they'd been called to battle before chase could ever think about it. "I don't know why I didn't tell you sooner. Part of me says that it's because it was too complicated and there was never time. The rest of me knows that I was scared. Scared that you might laugh, or push me away or something. I was scared you wouldn't even look at me if I told you. I'm not proud of it but I was scared. Still am. It's funny, I can fight in deadly battles and raid a rivals camp, but when it comes to telling you how I feel, my resolve just melts." He said, embarrassed by the truth.

message 132: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He watched her laying there, blinking sleepily, looking back at him. God she looked so beautiful. Her black eyes like a lunar eclipse, her black hair falling over her shoulders, her face studying his. When she took his hand and asked him to say it again, he leaned close so his lips were next to her ears, and he whispered into her ear, "tomb, I love you." He said, a smile pulling at his mouth. He looked at her and she was smiling. He couldn't help himself, her beautiful face, her eyes, like black pools, looking at him with affection. He leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss onto her lips, imprinting every moment of it into his mind so even if he were struck blind, he could see it clearly in his mind.

message 133: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase couldn't help but smile. She said it back. He couldn't believe it. He'd been so scared that she wouldn't and now it was like he was filled with helium. He was on cloud 9. They lay there, looking at each other, smiling. How long it was, he didn't know, but they soon fell asleep, and when he opened his eyes, tomb was already awake, looking at him intently, almost like she was nervous. He smiled, remembering everything the night before, and said with a giddy voice, "good morning beautiful, how are you feeling? Can I get you breakfast or anything?" The nervous glint went out of her eyes and she looked relieved at hearing his voice. He still couldn't believe what had happened the night before, it was incredible. "Look, ah, tomb, I meant what I said last night ok? All of it." He said looking at her and not being able to stop himself from noticing how good she looked.

message 134: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He nodded. "Of course, I'll send him over with some French toast while I go find something for you to do. Maybe you can examine a map of camp and find weak points that are vulnerable to an attack. Or I could have crayons and water colors gathered up and bring them back to color on. I know I did a coloring or two when I was laid up. Pretty therapeutic. they'll have you up and walking in a few days or so, you just gotta let strength come back to ya. And I'll even put in a good word with mars to have the ability blocker removed when he brings the French toast, how's that sound?" He asked with a smile. She seemed to like the idea of having the ability blocker removed and French toast, and he was more than happy to see a smile on her face. "I'll be back in a flash." He said, heading out to get mars, a map, and coloring utensils.

message 135: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had gotten mars to make some French toast and he agreed to take off the ability blocker. Chase had went and rounded up a map and crayons and then he went to the armory and grabbed tombs spear. It had been placed in there until Tomb was ready. He went by and grabbed mars and the French toast and headed back to tombs hospital room. When he got in, tomb was excited to see the spear and he promised to give it to her after mars removed her ability blocker. Mars asked how she was doing and removed the blocker from her leg. "Doctors told me you shouldn't shift more than a few times a day" mars commented and then left, having to get back to the kitchen. Chase handed her the spear and couldn't help but laugh at the giddy expression on her face. "You really do love sharp pokey things huh?" He said teasingly.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was hesitant to leave, tomb, but she insisted. "Ok beautiful, love ya." He said, giving her a quick kiss before he left. He had to go teach a class in hand to hand so he hurried off. The class was good and Alana was by far the best knife fighter in the class, but he was happy to see her frustrated when she could not get a tag on him. Of course she got him with her telepathic knives, but they bounced harmlessly off his metal body. She got particularly frustrated when she moved in on him but he disarmed her and put his dagger to her throat. Of course the sent knifes at him from behind but they bounced off as usual. "How the hell am I supposed to win!" She yelled at him, obviously ticked off. "That is something you gotta find out yourself. Alright guys! Let's finish it up!" He called to the others sparring in the arena, concluding his lesson for the day.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Have had been doing a lot around the camp for the last couple of days and he was tired. He'd been to visit tomb a few times, but they were never able to talk long. Chase had been instructing hand to hand and it seemed to be going well. Alana was still furious whenever her sparred her as metal, but chase figured it was a good challenge. He finished his lesson in the arena and went to look for tomb. He had yet to be there today and was looking forward to seeing her. But when he got there, her hospital room was empty. Tombs spear was gone and her bed sheets wrinkled as if someone had just gotten out of it. Doctors must be having her up and walking a bit he thought. So he walked off through the camp trying to find her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Tomb! These are new pants!" He exclaimed when she padded over to him and lightly clawed his pant leg to get him to notice her. "Haha, hey, I've got four hours till I have to go to day next class, and I was gonna go make a frozen pizza. Wanna come with?" He asked hoping she'd say yes. He hadn't spent much time with her lately and he was missing her, so he was really hoping that he could spend some time with her. She seemed to nod, so he took it as a yes. He led Tomb who was still a cat into his house, and shut the door. "Alrighty, I'm gonna grab a pepperoni pizza, take it easy and don't claw up my house like you tried last time!" He said teasing her as he walked to the freezer, pulling out the pizza, and then crossing to the oven to heat it up.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments She was resting her head on his shoulder, and he couldn't have been happier about it. And as for the pizzas, he had made an arrangement with mars. "Well, all I have to say is I have my sources, and time? Ten minutes to warm up the oven, ten minutes to heat up the pizza. Pretty quick." He replied, turning to her, waiting for the oven to heat up. "Hey, let's go throw on some tv, I think supernatural is on!" He said, lifting her off her feet and carrying into the living room, laughing. He sat down, holding her in his arms, and clicked the remote turning on the tv. "Also, what the heck is a walnut? That's the weakest insult ever." He said, poking fun at her, she just whacked him lightly, and laughed. He was so happy at this moment, he wished it could never be over. Then the oven timer went off, and it was ready to put the pizza in.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase slid the pizza in the oven and shut the oven, setting a timer. They hadn't heard anything from the rivals, no disturbances, no run ins, nothing. Chase guessed they were gonna regenerate and wait till their leader was healthy again. "We've heard nothing. They have gone silent, probably on account to captains snapped shin and sailor. I think we should be ok for a little bit at least. And training has been going really good. Everyone is getting the hang of hand to hand combat. You will be pleased to know after every session Alana storms out of the arena fuming about how unfair it is I can turn to metal. She hates sparring with me." He said laughing. It was very entertaining to watch and many of the other campers got a kick out of it.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((No worries!))

Chase thought about that. It was true that they hadn't truly talked since she had just woken from a stab wound. He wasn't quite as nervous though, being with her had really eased his nervousness. "Yeah, um, I'm really sorry I waited to tell you Tomb. I wanted to, I really did, but i was also scared, ya know? I never planned to tell you like I did, but I had to tell you, I just had to. And when you said it back, I couldn't believe it. I'm never ever going to wait on something like that ever again. I love you Tomb, like I've never loved anything. I love you." He said, looking at Tomb lovingly. He really did, and he knew it. He'd never really had a girlfriend in high school, and he'd never really thought he would have one because of the complexity of his life. He was happy though, so happy that he'd found Tomb. He had to be the luckiest guy in the world.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He smiled when she said the words, "I love you" it gave him a feeling of ecstasy. "You know, when I first saw you when I stepped off that plane, I thought you were cute in a scary sort of way. Your eyes were studying me all over like you were trying to find a way to kill me, and all I thought was, wow, look at her eyes, they are like lunar eclipses. Haha, I also thought you were pretty bad ass, especially when you were kicking other people's asses. And every time you grabbed me to go fly somewhere, my heart would do a little relay race in my chest. If I think about it, you had me as soon as I saw you." He told her. He wasn't sure why, but he was telling her everything he thought he'd never end up telling her, but it was nice. It was freeing. It made him happy.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He thought on her question. Well, that's tricky, first they needed to stay alive, and that had proven tough already. "Well, I guess we keep each other alive first and foremost. I've no idea what I'd do if you died quite honestly, so let's keep the near death experiences to a minimum." He said, only half joking. "And i don't know what else we do, because we'll be quite busy and will hardly see each other much, which sucks." He commented, but then he got another idea. What if they shared an apartment or house. They would have their separate spaces and such, but they would be able to see much more of each other. "Ah, tomb, if you wanted, we could share a housing space together. We'd be able to see a lot more of each other, and I gotta admit, these houses are pretty lonely to love in alone." He said slowly, searching for any sign of her thoughts on the proposal.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments In 4 hours. Ding. Pizzas done. Chase got up and pulled the pizza out of the oven, setting it on the stove top to cool off. He went back to tomb, putting an arm around her. "So it'll be you and me huh? Sweet. And I think you are gonna be the one taking up the bathroom. Ya walnut." He added, teasing a smile out of tomb. He was glad they would be able to see a lot more of each other. "Also, since you are a new resident here, and I have seniority here, I get final call on all disputes." He said, making a stately face, and then breaking down into laughter at the look on tombs face. "Haha, I'm just kidding! Haha, you shoulda seen the look on your face. It was a, if you are for real I will slice you to ribbons real fast, kind of look. Haha, you're adorable." He said to her, receiving a playful punch to the gut.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Rick and Morty?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, as he vaguely remembered the tv show. "And yes you are adorable Tomb. As cute as a button. Ah, Except, you know, a button that is extremely dangerous." He said neutralizing the venomous look tomb had been giving him for calling her cute as a button. He smiled at her, thinking about rain. "Oh, she's been doing alright. Terrorizing the camp, demanding candy and generally helping keep spirits up with her attitude. Honestly, right after the attack everyone was so depressed except for rain, who helped lift everyone's mood. She's been a good little girl, and she has been going on about getting to see you soon. She can't wait." He said chuckling at the constant pestering he'd endured from her about seeing tomb. He would've liked to take her, but the doctors would not allow it.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "No , they won't until she's twelve." He said, reinforcing what tomb had said. "I did however, show her evasive maneuvers so she is even harder to catch than she was before. She really liked them, and I taught them to her saying that it was just a way of racing and beating someone. So hopefully those stuck with her." He explained, as Tomb nodded. "Hey tomb, I got a question for you, when was the first time you knew you liked me? Was it when I stepped off the plane in all my awesome glory? When I got ripped to shreds, or when I saved you like a knight in shining armor." He said light heartedly. He really was curious about this part, because up until she'd said she loved him, tomb had not expressed any sort of romantic feelings for him. Then again, she was pretty good at not showing her hand.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened to what she said and actually laughed at the mention of him flying off in the breeze. That had been scary at the time, but looking back at it, he laughed. He was about to say something when Tomb peeked up a little bit, as if to listen more intently on something. "Tomb, are you ok? What is it?" He asked, but only received a finger over his lips in return. He listened, straining to hear what she was hearing, not understanding what she was trying to listen to. She had to be using her shifting to improve her hearing, because chase heard absolutely nothing. He was starting to get nervous, wondering if the rivals had come back. He drew his knife and grabbed his rubber and steel spheres. He really hoped it wasn't rivals.
