Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Hey!" He protested, "why can't I have fish and chips! Cmon, it's good for you!" He complained. Tomb giggled evilly, if that was even possible, and hurried her head back in chases chest. When his club sandwich came he gave Tomb a dirty look and proceeded to chow down on his sandwich. As he ate he thought about what was planned for the day ahead. "Hey, you don't mind if I go out and see the city were in do ya? I wanna take a look around and see what's up. Maybe I could bring you back a souvenir." He said as he cradled her close to him. He thought that it might be good to leave her alone a little bit to sleep and rest up and let some doctors to attend to her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled and decided he'd better get going then. "Alright baby, ill make sure to get you some clothes. I love you." He said, giving her a lingering kiss on the lips and then walking out of her room to find Jefferson and get some money. Chase was excited to be back on the mainland and couldn't wait to see the city, but he also wished that Tomb was there with him. He found Jefferson and demanded some money, to which he received an irritated look and five hundred dollars. With his money, chase walked out and was given a government vehicle to take. Of course he'd gotten his drivers license a while ago, but he also had not driven in a long time. This will be interesting, he thought as he sped out of the hospital parking lot.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had made his way into downtown and soon found out that they were in Dallas, Texas. He'd never been to the city and was interested to find that it looked somewhat like Minneapolis, only it was hot and dry instead of snowy and wet. He drove around for a bit until he found a shopping area with a nice shaded plaza. He walked in and out of the shops, looking around and just kinda getting a feel for the city. He found a few shops that had clothing that Tomb would like and so he got her a few black leggings, tank tops, t-shirts and black jeans. He wasn't quite sure on her size, but he made his best guess. As he was about to get lunch, he saw a store labeled army surplus. Chase loved these kinds of stores and so he went in immediately. He saw some cool stuff and even bought some camo combat pants and decided it was time to head out. When he got to the counter, he looked around one last time to see if he missed anything, that's when he saw it. He got a wide smile and walked over to the black leather jacket that had caught his eye. It was obviously fitted for a girl and was made from very nice leather, but that's not what caught his eye. On the left breast pocket, stitched in black lettering outlined in white was the word, "Tomb." On the back was an outline of a spear across the back of a panther. Chase stared at it. How in the hell had he found this jacket? It was almost too perfect. With a huge grin on his face he grabbed it off the sale rack and headed to the counter. That was a lot better than a key chain he figured.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had eaten lunch at this wonderful fast food Mexican place called chipotle and was absolutely full from the giant burritos they served. He decided he didn't really wanna do much more, so he put everything in the car he was given for the day and drove back to the hospital. He was anxious to see how Tomb was and hoped that she hadn't been too bored. He grabbed out the bags of clothing and then the one containing his gift for her. He lugged it all in and when he entered was met with a sniffling tomb calling out his name. He smiled at how cute she looked and based on her behavior they had given her some painkillers. He set the bags down at the foot of the bed so she couldn't see what he'd gotten and came around to her, gently wrapping his arms around her and smiling at the books she had gotten. He pulled away and dotted her face with kisses and then said, "how is my little girl doing?" Tomb just giggled a little and told him of being in the circus as an acrobat. Chase just smiled and when she talked about the underland series, he sighed, "now I have to read curse of the warm bloods and the marks of secret to catch up!" He told Tomb he had gotten her some clothes and then pulled them out and showed her hoping they would get her seal of approval. Finally he said, "oh, I couldn't get you a key chain love, but I hope this is a close second." He held up the leather jacket and showed her both sides, hoping she would like it.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was happy she liked it and when she hugged him he hugged her right back, easing her back into her bed. She looked incredibly cute in her new jacket and the excitement in her eyes absolutely melted his heart. He carefully climbed in next to her and enjoyed her kisses and in turn kissed her back. As she giggled he realized just how head over heals he was for this girl. This cute, adorable incredibly sweet girl was his and every time he remembered that he fell in love all over again. He cuddled her close and enveloped her in his arms absolutely melting as she looked up at him with those gleaming eyes. "Oh baby you are absolutely adorable. I'm glad you liked your gift, I think you look amazing in it." He cooed soothingly.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chases smile grew wide as Tomb spoke and he laughed as she laid on top of him, hiding against his chest and getting shy when she said she would be with him forever. She had her head tucked against him looking down and so he sat up a bit and whispered in her ear with a smile, "oh my tomb, forever seems too short." He let his fingers wander to her sides and then tickled her eliciting a laugh that made chase even happier than he already was. "How about for all eternity? That seems like a good long time to be together." He added as her laughter died down. The blush that tinted her cheeks and the shy smile that came over her face told chase that she agreed. He lifted her chin lightly with his finger and gave her a soft, sweet kiss and then letting her break away to giggle.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had stopped to consider her question but apparently didn't answer quick enough because soon Tomb had rolled around to face him and pulled a blanket around them whining about him being silent. Chase, amused by her impatience laughed and placed another kiss on her lips. "Well we could have all types of pets, like dogs, cats, fish, mice, ferrets, whatever. I love almost all animals, except for birds, they're too loud for a pet. Oh and way way way in the future, we could have little tombs and chases and-" but he didn't finish his sentence. He had kinda gotten lost in thought and had not stopped to remember that what he was thinking about was coming out of his mouth. He glanced down at Tomb, worried that he might've made her uncomfortable.

message 608: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled when she said she liked that plan. "Me too love. But way in the future. Both of us together couldn't handle rain on a sugar high." He joked earning a smile from tomb. "And I thought you said hills earlier, but now you want mountains it seems. Maybe you can get both with really steep hills." He added with a laugh. He couldn't help but admire Tomb as she looked down at him. She gave him a sorta funny look and he realized he had spaced out staring at her and so he looked down a bit with a slight blush. Even after they'd been together a while she still could make him blush.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase let her draw out his features and smiled when she talked. But when tears came to her face he frowned, wondering what had cause the drops of tears that were now tickling down her cheeks. Chase sat up and cradled her to his chest and said, "Love, what's wrong? Are you ok? Hey, we're both gonna live long happy lives with each other. If that's what you're worried about then you can stop worrying baby. Cmon, tell me what's bothering you." He wiped a tear from her cheek and held her close, trying to comfort her as much as he could. He wasn't quite sure why she had started crying but whatever it was he wanted so badly to fix it. A tune came to mind and she sang softly to her saying, "She's got eyes of the calmest nights and if they thought of rain, I hate to look into those eyes And see an ounce of pain. Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide, And pray for the thunder, And the rain To quietly pass me by." He switched the lyrics a bit to match her eyes but figured she might remember the classic guns and roses song anyways.

((I'm headed to bed, just a heads up so you don't expect a response till tmrw. :) goodnight.))

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had to grin as she said those words and kissing her back as she held onto him tightly. "Don't worry love, I'm not going anywhere." He whispered soothingly, drawing hearts on her back as she hugged and kissed him. Soon her tears dried up and they were left sitting there, holding onto each other and not letting go. "Hey beautiful, do you remember the first time you ever joked with me up in that tree? Didn't it all seem so simple back then? When we were just chasing around bad guys and kicking butt?" He asked not quite sure where this whole train of thought was actually going.

message 611: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I dunno, I guess it's just happy memories I have. And it seems almost all of them involve you. When I started something new, you were there to help me through it and now look where we are. Maybe i was just thinking it because when you start something new its always easier to have someone help you through it. Now that we are both starting something new, I think it's good that we have each other to get through it. I don't know, I just sure am glad to have you love." He said thoughtfully, not entirely sure if what he said made sense, but knowing one thing for certain. If he was starting a new life here on the main land, chase was glad it was with Tomb.

message 612: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase wasn't quite sure what Tomb was doing, but it was cute so he let it slide, laughing when he tackled him a bit. Oh his tomb was so precious and he would never ever trade that for anything. Soon a doctor came in and told Tomb that she needed to go to bed and gave chase a dirty look for keeping her up. He smirked at the doc and then turned back to tomb and said, "well it has been a pretty good day overall and I can't believe I found that leather jacket. It's gotta be one in a million! I guess that's fitting as you're one in a million as well baby." He said giving her a wink. He moved to get out of tombs hospital bed as the doctors had set up a small cot next to it and chase assumed that's where they wanted him to sleep.

message 613: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase didn't like being separated from Tomb either, but if it helped her heal then he would try it. When Tomb crawled into his cot as a kitten, chase smiled, but he also wasn't going to let her sleep in his uncomfortable cot. He picked her up and walked her back to the comfy hospital bed and then lay there with her. Doctors would probably get mad, but who cares. Tomb resumed her spot in the crook of his neck and curled up. Little fuzz ball tomb was so fluffy and soft against his neck, that it wasn't hard to fall asleep after that. He felt much more comfortable laying with Tomb than he had when he was in his cot alone.

message 614: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase woke up to claws digging into his shoulder. "Ow tomb, what the heck are you doing?" He asked sitting up and finding her bouncing around and then licking herself like a cat might if it was nursing an injury. "Tomb, are you alright? What the heck is going on?" He asked even more confused by tombs behavior. This was pretty unnatural for her and it was making chase question what the heck was wrong. He watched tomb carefully for any signs of something majorly wrong but his suspicious eyes found nothing. "Cmon Tomb, what happened?" He finally asked, wondering what exactly had caused her to wake him up. He had not heard the commotion that had preceded his waking up and therefor was unaware of the fact that a nurse had been in the room.

message 615: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase looked at her blearily as she explained what had happened and he frowned at the fact that the nurse had given her an injection in her sleep. When Tomb told him to go back to bed he replied, "no huh, I'm not mad at you, no I'm just a little tired. So what is keeping you from Dream land baby?" He asked, giving her a reassuring embrace. She looked troubled and chase wanted to make sure that she was ok before he headed off to bed. He looked around their room and saw that it was all dark and everything still. He was surprised someone had gotten in and given Tomb a shot without him waking up. Chase would need to work on that In case there were someone trying to poison her for some reason.

message 617: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was worried and decided the next day he would talk to the doctors about stopping the medicines. They were obviously doing more harm than good and he hated seeing Tomb so uncomfortable. "Ok baby, I love you." He said kissing her and then putting one arm around her, not wanting to crowd her too much in case she was feeling claustrophobic. Chase knew what these pain killers could make you feel, and he definitely knew that Tomb really hated feeling all loosey goosey. He closed his eyes but did not go to sleep right away, wanting to make sure that if Tomb needed anything he would be awake to help her. This had to be a lot for Tomb to deal with at once so he wanted to make sure he could help out as much as possible.

message 618: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase woke up just after Tomb left and feeling her absence sat bolt upright. Where was Tomb! She wasn't supposed to be moving very much and the doctors would kill him if they knew he lost track of her. He sprinted out into the hall and didn't see any sign of her. He ran back into the room they had and looked around. That's when he noticed a few of the shopping bags were missing and he put two and two together to realize she was probably just getting dressed. He sighed heavily and leaned against the wall and then started laughing at himself. He had been so ridiculously worried about Tomb when she was just changing clothes. Oh tomb, what have you done to me, he thought.

message 619: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase gave her a wary look and listened to her requests. He wasn't sure taking her out of the hospital was such a good idea, especially since she'd just had surgery a few days ago. He didn't think she was really ready to go anywhere as far as he was concerned. "How about we check with a doctor before we take you anywhere. I don't think you are healed enough to really be out of the hospital. I'm sure we could explore the hospital, but anywhere else might not be a good idea." He said, giving her a questioning look. He knew she was bored and just wanted to get out of the place, but he also knew she needed proper time to rest and heal.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments We're in Dallas, and I think I may have seen a five guys yesterday. I'll talk to the doctor and if he clears you, we'll go exploring. He found the doctor and talked a little. As it turns out, tombs recovery was especially exceptional no was going pretty quick. He would be allowed to take Tomb into Dallas as long as she remained in a wheel chair for the entirety of the excursion. He was sure tomb would hate the idea and protest heavily, but that's the best he could do and if tomb really wanted to explore, shell just have to explore from a wheel chair. He thought a of this as he grabbed the chair and headed back to the room tomb was in.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "We're in Dallas, and I think I may have seen a five guys yesterday while I was out. I'll talk to the doctor and if he clears you for some activity, we'll go exploring." He said, walking out into the hall and grabbing a doctor. He exchanged a few words with the white coat and was pleasantly surprised to find that tombs recovery was ahead of schedule. He was told he could take Tomb into Dallas as long as she remained in a wheel chair for the entirety of the excursion, just to make sure that her stitches and sutures remained in tact. He was sure tomb would hate the idea of being in a wheel chair and protest heavily about it, but that's the best he could do and if tomb really wanted to explore then she would have to deal with it. He was given a wheel chair and then he walked back to tomb and told her the deal.

((Hope that was better. Sorry about that.))

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Hey, that sounds really fun! That would be awesome! Sounds like a plan then.))

Chase smiled at her readiness to get out of these white walls with sick posters. He couldn't really blame her. She was well enough to move short distances by herself so she got up and into the wheelchair, and then chase said, "Ready?" And took off. It was fun pushing around someone in a wheelchair because it was sorta like driving a car. When they reached the car they were allowed, tomb got up, complaining about chases wheelchair steering, and got in the front seat. ChAse just. Buckled and put the wheelchair in the trunk, and then hopped in the drivers seat and started up the engine. Soon enough they had headed out and were pulling into a five guys restaurant in no time. The best part was that chase had been given a handicapped parking thing, so he pulled into a spot right next to the door. Sweet, this might work out ok!

message 628: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Got it. I'll post in a bit. How about dice is 14 or so? That makes rain 9 or 10 right?))

message 629: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments It had been many years since Tomb and chase had moved away, and the camp was still standing, so that was an accomplishment. Once they left, things had been hard for a little bit, but people had stepped up and soon things were running smoothly again. Dice knew many people envied them as they had done what many here dreamed of doing. They'd made it off. They had proven themselves and earned a ticket off the island. Dice was happy for them, but he was also sad. Those two had accepted him when he first got here. They'd comforted him. Dice jumped a little as his little metal figurine jumped out of his pocket and started walking around. His powers were well under control, but his emotions had been acting up, and when there was something so lifelike like his intricate human statue, they sometimes popped to life. That was something that always intrigued Dice. The more human something looked, the easier it was to animate. The less human it looked, the more effort it took. He tucked his statue back into his pocket and walked out of his cabin that he now had to himself.

message 630: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice gave a chuckle when rain ran up to him and gave a slight smile. It was a warm day and a swim would be nice, so he replied, "well that sounds like a great idea. Have you been practicing your swimming lessons Rain? I'd hate to have to drag you out of the water." She had been practicing her swimming and was starting to understand the whole mechanics of swimming and how to do it. Dice had been trying to show her for a while and now that she had the general idea of it that was all she wanted to do. But what little kid didn't want to go swimming? To dice at least, it seemed like any child would always pick swimming over anything, no matter what the other activity was. It also seemed like water temperature didn't bother them either, considering a few days ago rain had wanted to swim in sixty degree weather.

message 631: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice just chuckled and allowed himself to be dragged to the water. Dice himself was a pretty strong swimmer, and sometimes he felt more comfortable in the water than on land. Rain on the other hand was quite as good in the water as him, so he was just going to have to keep a sharp eye on her. It was weird how his and rains relationship had shifted over the years. It had started out with them just being friends and not having a care in the world, bug as they grew older, dice started to feel more and more like a older brother to her. He didn't know why, but that's just how it seemed. Shaking this thought, he took off his boots and socks, leaving on his shorts as Argante had gotten really good at making the clothes nice and light so they air dried quickly. He waited for Rain to tug off her shoes before saying, "now don't do anything stupid and don't inhale under the water."

message 632: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice sighed as rain got all huffy with him. He knew she didn't like being looked after, but everyone was just so used to it from when she was younger that it is hard to do any different. When rain jumped in, dice watched carefully until she came to the surface and then jumped in himself, raising his arms above his head and straightening his body as he came down head first to the water. The cool refreshing feeling rushed over him and eased some soreness in his muscles that he'd gotten from his lessons lately. Since he'd turned twelve, dice was allowed to choose a weapon and an area of combat training to take up at camp. When he'd been shown the armory, he had walked around until a short sword caught his eye. It was a Roma's gladius with a Damascus steel blade and intricate pommel. He had picked it up and immediately it felt right. Right then and there he had decided that he wanted it. As a result he was taking sword fighting lessons and had gotten very proficient with his new weapon. He surfaced and shook the water from his face, only to be splashed playfully by rain. "Oh you are gonna regret that Rain!" He called as she swam away from him.

message 639: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice smiled as he pulled closer and as it got deeper, he finally managed to catch rain's ankle, dragging her back into shallow waters. She complained to him the whole way about wanting to stay where it was deep, but Dice wouldn't have it. "Cmon, I'm tired from lessons and I don't want to swim in the deeper areas." He relented, telling her a somewhat true thing, hoping to get her to stay in the shallows. When he finally coaxed an agreement out of her, Dice lay back in the water and floated on his back. A second later, Rain was standing next to him, poking him and asking questions about his training and stuff. Dice just answered her inquiries and let her go on and on.

message 641: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice had just let himself relax and had allowed himself to be pushed ashore. He'd always found it funny that humans loved the ocean and stuff, but the ocean was always pushing them out with its waves. Almost as if it were telling the people to get out. When rain sat on him and then told him what was on her mind, he frowned. "Of course not rain, everyone here loves you. You're like everyone's kid sister. Plus, you've been here longer than most. No one would ever want to kick you out, everyone loves having you around. How can I get bored if every moment hanging out with you is a sugar fueled adrenaline rush?" He joked, sitting up and putting a comforting hand on her shoulder. He felt bad that rain was feeling this way and wanted her to shake any notions like that out of her head.

message 642: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Hey now, who said Howard was giving any directions around here. He's been her less than six months. You can always hang out with me Rain. And no one is going to kick you out. Everyone here loves you!" He cooed soothingly, trying to get Rain to see sense. When she asked for candy, dice smiled. He had prepared for this eventuality and stocked up on sweets at home. And boy did it look like rain could use some sweets. "Come on rain. Let's go back to my house and you can have all of the candy to want. I've got a whole stock pile for you." Now maybe he shouldn't have told Rain this, but she was really looking down in the dumps and dice had to cheer her up somehow. Plus, a little candy never hurt anyone as far as he could tell.

message 643: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Calm down! Calm down!" He said as her wings buffeted air and water. "I'm coming, I'm coming! You gotta remember that your wings going so fast creates one hell of an air stream." He complained as he she'd his eyes from the rain and sand that was flying everywhere. He smiled when she slowed her wings and then yelled, "race you back to my house!" Of course, being a quick humming bird, rain always beat him, but she enjoyed the victory and it was fun to see her squeal with delight as she landed and he still had a hundred yards to go. Dice settled into a jog and quickly suppressed a bitter sweet memory of chase going on morning runs. Dice had joined him a few times, and even continued to do so. Of course, he wasn't a running nut so he didn't go as far or as hard as chase did, but he still could set a good pace. These thoughts came to him as he found himself jogging through the path back to camp. He wished he had his sword to jack away some vegetation, and he missed the comfort of it being on his back. He wore it like that because that was how Tomb wore her spear. Not many noticed, but dice really looked up to those two, and them leaving had been a tough day for him. He missed them, as they had taken him in. Luckily though, he had Alana, who had helped him get through it. Alana was like his older sister, and they got along nicely. So when he saw Alana congratulating Rain on another victory in front of his house, he smiled and waved.

message 644: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As dice caught up to Alana and Rain he slowed to a walk. As rain taunted him about is speed and candy, a smile formed on his lips. "Good one Rain, pretty close, but I think I won that one!" He said jokingly. Immediately, an angry humming bird was right in his face, giving him short pecks and dive bombing him. Shielding himself from the onslaught, he relented. "Alright, alright! Just kidding rain, you won by a mile! Cmon!" He called. Soon thereafter a giggling rain landed, along with a smirking alana who was obviously amused by the encounter. "Alright, well, let's get you your candy Rain, seeing as I did promise you some. Cmon rain. Oh, bye Alana, see you later!" He called over his shoulder as he entered his house with a fluttering Rain who was eager for candy.

message 645: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice opened up a high shelf and reached inside, grabbing a back of assorted candy bars. When Rain apologized, dice just grinned, knowing she was trying to get on his good side as much as possible for more candy. He'd been friends with her for five years, he knew all the ins and outs of her candy swindling ways. "It's ok rain, we were just playing around." He replied as he ruffled her hair. When she started wiping his face with a wet cloth, dice didn't know what to do. What the heck was Rain doing, did he have something on his face? Was there something that he hadn't noticed? Finally he spoke saying, "what are you doing Rain, why are you washing my face!"

message 646: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice stashed the candy in a now hiding spot and went to retrieve his trusty gladius from his room. He had training a bit later and he needed to get his stuff together. When he got back out of his room, rain was running around with sugar as a pot on the stove was being heated on the highest heat setting it had. What was Rain doing! "Rain! What in the world are you doing! You know you can't use a stove! What if you got boiling water on yourself? What if you got hurt! You should know better!" Exclaimed Dice as he rushed forward and turned off the flame. Rain had stopped and was fixing him with a hard stare. He wasn't sure what her problem was, but she should have known better than to mess with the stove. "Rain, why would you do that? You know you aren't old enough to be messing around with this stuff." Immediately he knew he'd said the wrong thing, as what came next was disastrous.

He should've chosen his words more carefully. He hadn't meant it that way at all. As the blows grew weaker and anger turned to tears, Dice wrapped Rain in a hug until she was no longer trying to hit him. He rubbed her back and let her cry on his shoulder, like any friend would do, and talked to her soothingly. "Hey, hey, it's alright rain. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I shouldn't have gotten so angry with you, I was just worried you might get hurt. I only got mad because you could've gotten hurt. I shouldn't have gone off like I did rain, I'm sorry. Forgive me? Please?" He said in a low, comforting voice. Her sobs slowed and she shifted her head on his shoulder as he rocked her lightly, hoping she'd forgive his comment.

Dice smiled at her as she defended that she was capable of not getting hurt. He just nodded and said, "of course I forgive you Rain." She seemed to take comfort in that and her breathing steadied as he rocked her. "I "Cmon, I have lessons in ten minutes and I can't be late. They'll let you watch if you want. Or I can drop you off with Mars in the mess hall. He loves having you around as company and he tells me you make a pretty good cook. I bet he'd even make you some sugar water." Dice added, getting it up and readjusting his sheath as he walked towards the door, waiting for rain to follow him. He guessed that she would want to watch training because she was eager to start the process herself, but he also knew that helping in the kitchen was tempting for her because she got to talk to everybody who ordered food.
