Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As they headed off to the training arena, dice started to feel very hot and sweaty. Like he was wearing a wool sweater in a desert. He tugged at his shirt collar and took a deep breath as he stepped into the training arena. An older camper named garrison was there waiting for him, sword in hand. "Hi Garrison, sorry I'm late, I... I'm not really feeling well." He struggled through the sentence, having to use more concentration than normal. Garrison just gave him a sympathetic nod and told him to work with the dummies. Nodding, dice turned and got a dummy from the side lines with a wooden sword. Training was unique for dice because he could animate the dummy he was fighting to make for a better sparring partner. All he had to do was animate it and give it a basic instruction, like fight or kill. Getting ready, he ignored the roiling of his blood and started hacking at his now lifelike practice doll.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice's head was now swimming and he felt himself consumed in heat. Almost as if he was in a furnace. He felt himself stumble and fall into something. He just lay there, waiting as the heat grew more intense until suddenly, it was as if the heat internalized itself, making him angry. He felt his strength come back to him, but his mind was a haze of anger and violence. He blinked and his eyes opened revealing a crowd of people around him. His vision was slightly tinted red and he noticed a newfound strength within him. One that felt primal. Strength reserved for when you ran into a saber tooth tiger without your club. Suddenly the anger inside him exploded and he jolted up, looking around furiously. All these stupid idiots around him looking at him like he was helpless. He'd show them. He yelled and punched some poor kid square in the face and then started tackling another. Furious for seemingly no reason at all.

message 656: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice felt the ability blocker go on and it immediately pissed him off even more. So much rage was coursing through him that he wasn't even thinking straight. When he was shoved to the ground, dice swung his leg out, knocking whoever was trying to detain him. Then he sprang for the nearest moving thing, fastening his hands around its neck. But suddenly, someone was pulling him off the thing and throwing him to the ground. This time the impact knocked the wind out of him and moments later a boot struck his face, knocking him out. Consciousness came in flashes, allowing him t hear snippets of a conversation that he couldn't quite interpret. He caught only two words, "Dice" and "kill".

message 657: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice came to and heard someone mumbling something. The anger was still present, but for some reason he felt really slow and sluggish. It felt like his thoughts were moving through Amber. They must've sedated him, but why was he awake then? Little did Dice know that the virus that now inhabited him boosted his adrenaline levels and blocked off the rationalizing part of his frontal lobe, allowing the mix of adrenaline and unchecked emotions to put him in a state of constant anger. The adrenaline boost allowing him to remain awake despite heavy sedation. Dice did seem to be in a bit more control of his anger in his sluggish state, wondering why exactly he was so angry. The only answer he could come up with was that he just was. He turned his head and recognized the girl that was sitting there. It was rain. He wanted to know what was going on, but his anger wouldn't allow him to speak coherently. So instead he just sputtered drugged up, angry growls.

message 658: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments In his sluggish state, Dice heard the worry in the persons voice. His vision was tinted red and blurred, but he felt like he knew the voice that was speaking. As he struggled against the restraints, he deadlines that he wasn't really struggling against the restraints. His body was moving despite him making no conscious effort to move. He could feel the anger ebbing and flowing in his conscious, but he couldn't make any sense of it. At least he was in control to some capacity, to the point where he could think clearly at least. After thinking about it, he made a conscious effort to stop straining against the restraints and found that he could stop. But as soon as he did, he got the urge to keep struggling. It was almost overwhelming, but he battled it into submission and remained still. Next he tried speaking. "Angery" was all he could manage.

message 659: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice gritted his teeth and spoke again, a little more clearly this time. "Don't... know... why... angry." He was really having to struggle against his urges to go full ballistic. The adrenaline was causing the tranquilizer to wear off and he was starting to lose control of himself. He fought hard, but he was only delaying the inevitable. In a last ditch effort, he put all his will against his anger and yelled out, "HELP ME!" Before he was consumed by rage. Once again, his vision became tinted red and anger consumed him. He writhed in his bed, struggling hard against the restraints. He felt a distant pain in his wrist as he pulled at it. The metal restraints had started digging into his skin and were rubbing his wrists raw. Caught up in his rage, dice hardly felt it. The sedatives had wore off impossibly fast and once again, dice was a writhing ball of hate.

message 660: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice didn't feel the needle, but he felt his mind slow. Whatever he'd just been given was much stronger than the first dose and this time he slipped under soundly. His drugged sleep was filled with random dreams. Some were of him falling to his death, others were of him maiming and hurting people. The dreams scared him terribly and he couldn't stop them. He didn't want to be asleep anymore. But try as he might, he could not wake up. Had the dose he'd been given put him into a medically induced coma? He was seemingly conscious, he just couldn't open his eyes or move. Almost as if he were paralyzed. He concentrated hard and managed to twitch his toe. So he wasn't in a coma or paralyzed. Just tranquilizer with more sedatives than any human had ever endured.

message 661: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice could hear a voice whispering to him in his drugged slumber, but there really wasn't much he could do. His anger had subsided with the heavy medication, but that also made his conscious mind feel groggy and disconnected. He would just have to settle for minor movements. He concentrated on his fingers and moved his pointer finger up and down, hoping whoever was talking to him would notice. Maybe they could work it out to where he could answer yes or no questions. While he waited for whoever it was talking to him to pick up on his signal, he turned his attention to trying to fix himself. When the anger came back, he would need to restrain himself best he could. He would have to keep the anger out of his mind. How he was going to do that, he wasn't sure, but he needed to find a way to do so. Whatever happened to him isn't good, and he needs to fix it.

message 662: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice had lifted his finger up and down for yes and whoever was talking to him was smart, as they wrapped his bindings in cloth to help ease the pain he was in. But that was only the beginning, he needed to somehow explain to this person what was wrong with him. As he'd been moving his finger he had started to remember what he'd done when he was in his fits of anger. He'd strangled Rain and that had made him feel absolutely terrible, almost causing him to throw up. Little did he know his little companion was talking to him now, as the sedatives would not allow him to process rains voice correctly. He needed her to understand that he couldn't control himself. He would never ever hurt Rain, no matter what! He somehow needed to convey this to the person somehow.

message 663: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As he lay there, dice listened to the questions and tried to figure out who exactly was talking to him. He knew it was a girl as her tone had come a lot more clear, and he thought the girl must've been younger. He responded to the questions with no and continued focusing of figuring out who exactly he was talking to. When the question can up if they had caused it, he then knew who it was. Oh rain, it wasn't you! He wanted to tell her that but all he could do was mov his finger saying, "no no no no no no no no no no." Over and over and over again. He couldn't let little rain think that this was her fault. He had tried to strangle her and here she was blaming herself. Dice kept repeating "no" over and over, trying to make sure that rain knew this wasn't her fault. The poor girl. He noticed that he was starting to gain more movement, now able to move his hands.

message 664: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice considered Rains question and wondered if he knew what happened. He kind of knew what was happening to him, but he didn't quite know what was causing it. To answer her question, he uses his finger to make a hybrid of the two signs, hoping Rain would understand it as a "kind of". When a person, presumably a doctor, came in and started talking, dice listened intently. By the end of the conversation, he understood that he would be put in a padded room alone, all drugged up. "Put me in a straight jacket and I'll just be another crazy person left to rot out in a padded room." He thought bitterly. He didn't really want Rain to have to go because she had been so kind and took such good care of him, which was ironic because he was supposed to care for her. But she had to leave, as dice was wheeled away to where the only person he could endanger was himself.

message 665: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Just got home from work and settled. We could have poor dice get better, then have the camp get overrun so they flea on a boat and make it stateside where they track em down.))

message 666: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Omg I love that show! Haha, nice! I'll post in a bit. :) ))

message 667: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When he was left in the room, dice started to wake up slowly. His feeling was coming back to him and he could feel the first traces of anger start to tickle his brain. This time though, he started building his will against them, steeling himself for the tidal wave that was sure to come after the little ripples of anger he was feeling now. He had to hold on this time, he had to keep control of himself. He needed to help himself out and figure out what was going on inside of him. He had to hold on to tell Rain that he was sorry. As everything started to come back to him he focused hard on keeping his conscious mind open. It was a lot easier this time as the gradual wearing off of the heavy tranquilizer allowed him to fortify himself against the anger as it slowly came back to him. This time he managed to keep control of himself as his eyes fluttered open and he regained consciousness.

message 668: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice was in his bed focusing on calming himself. He found that if he called a certain person to mind and thought of why he liked them, it was easier to resist the anger. He did this until he heard a muffled sort of buzzing from the vent above him. Was he going insane, hearing things? What was happening to him? He called out in a strained voice, hoping someone would hear him. He meant to call for help, but what came out was, "heaaarrrghhhhhh!" He would definitely have to work on trying to speak. He lifted his arm curiously and found he was still restrained. Finally he just lay there, staring up at the vent where the soft, muffled buzz was coming from. As he continued to resist the anger, it got easier to manage, almost like whatever was taking him over didn't like the calm and happy thoughts that were being called to mind. He would have to remember that."

message 669: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice had thought he was hallucinating when a little humming bird had flown through the vent. But sure enough, as soon as it was in the room, the little hummingbird shifted into rain. He was so surprised, that dice almost lost his focus. Yet, he kept himself reigned in, and it was starting to become easier and easier to do so. He wanted to talk to Rain, but he was wary that he might lose control, so he kept silent. Oh, he had so many things to say to Rain, like how sorry he was. He wanted to apologize over and over for even laying his hands on her. He wouldn't blame Rain if she didn't forgive him, but he just needed to tell her he was sorry. Maybe once he got more control he could do that, but for now, he would just have to do his best to not go psycho. As rain undid the restraints, Dice let a sigh of relief escape his lips as the restraints had made him want to resist. He was so focused on himself that he did not notice the pounding on the window in the room.

message 670: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Dice was unfastened he just lay still, scared if he moved that he would lose his control. Then dice was dragging him off of his gurney and hustling him to the window where they ducked against the wall. He wanted to talk to Rain, say something reassuring. But all he had reasonable control of was his movement. So making do with what he had, he shakily wrapped Rain in a hug, hoping it felt reassuring. As the kind gesture registered with his mind, his anger virtually vanished. It was as if the goodness and innocence of the hug was killing the virus. Who knew, hugs were the cure after all, at least temporarily. He finally felt in control enough and said, "Rain, its me. I'm back. I'm so sorry Rain."

message 671: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice listened intently, his head now completely cleared up from the act of affection. He would have to keep that in mind. Carefully he released Rain and found the feeling of control persisted. For now at least, he was in complete control of himself and capable of functioning as a regular human. Realizing the situation, dice started trying to figure out how to get to the boats. He had no weapon and he was in rough shape. All he had was his itty bitty statue and Rain. How were they supposed to get out of here. "Rain, I have no idea what to do. I don't have my weapon, I- I don't know what to do Rain!" He stumbled, starting to feel overwhelmed. What was he supposed to do!

message 672: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Rain left to go get the keys and a weapon, dice felt an overwhelming feeling of worry sweep him as she shot up through the vent. He didn't have to worry long though, as the door clicked open in no time. When the door opened and dice saw the other bodies he looked away. He couldn't stand to see his friends on the floor, battered and bruised. He saw that Alana had a knife on her leg and grabbed it, tucking it into his belt. He looked at Alana and Neus, laying there on the floor. Not long after Tomb and Chase left, they started dating and five years later they were still going strong. Dice had been a little jealous of Neus as he'd harbored a small (ok, big) crush on Alana for a little while. But he'd quickly gotten over it seeing how well the two went together, now here they were knocked out on the floor. He intertwined their hands, thinking that when they came too, the intimate contact might have the same affect as his hug with rain.

message 673: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice looked at his wrists when Rain pointed them out. They weren't deep but they stung lightly. "It's no matter, you are right we need to move. Cmon, we gotta find away outbid here. Whatever this thing is, it's nasty. I would know." Dice said, gathering himself and being extremely cautious to keep his emotions in tact. He got up and left Alana and Neus with their hands entwined. Looking around, dice saw no immediate threat and so he crossed to the door and opened it a crack, peeking out into the hallway. There was nothing new there and the hallway was empty of people. In the distance though he heard many people starting to fight. There were shouts and yells which made dice cringe. "Cmon, let's get out of here." He whispered to Rain.

message 674: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments They crept down a few hallways, everything looking eerily normal. Like a scene from a zombie movie where everything looks alright but then one of the supporting characters gets their brain eaten. At least, that's what dice was thinking. As he led Rain through a series of hallways, hiding occasionally when the door of a room shuddered under the weight of a fight within. It was slow going, but finally they made it to the hospital entrance. The light had gone down and had thrown the camp into an eerie twilight, making everything much more menacing than it actually was. Outside the doors, he saw campers fighting with one another, all of them raging, angry beasts of emotion. Dice closed his eyes and thought hard. Somehow they needed to get out of here without being seen.

message 675: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice was a little surprised at the sudden take off, but was happy for the quick thinking. As they flew, he saw a few of the angry campers notice them, but only three tried to chase them. When they landed, dice picked up rain from the sand and held her to his chest, beating back any remaining rage from whatever had overcome him before. He ran with her to the boats and started throwing random things in it. Provisions from other boats, ropes, a box of unknown origin that made a metallic crash when he tossed it in and various other bits. But soon enough, he heard a crashing sound coming from the forest and knew that they were being pursued. Carefully he lowered rain into the boat and then started the engine. It didn't start immediately, but on the fourth pull it hummed to life. He jumped in, revved the engine, and they shot out of the docking area. Their pursuers reaching the end of the dock just as they shot out of range. "Jeez that was close!" Sighed dice, crawling over to rain, leaving the boat motor running.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Holy crap I love that movie! So sorry for my inactiveness! But literally that was the fervent picture to put there.))

message 677: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice felt terrible for Rain. This had to be a lot for her to process in only a little bit of time. She had lived on that island for essentially her whole life! Now it was being destroyed along with the people she loved. If they weren't quick, her whole past might disappear just like that. Dice let Rain cry and he moved his arms around her shoulders to comfort her as she sobbed. "Hey, hey, it's gonna be alright. We've got me, so when we get back they can diagnose what's wrong with me. Then we can go save the others. We'll be alright. But we gotta find Tomb and chase so they can connect us to the right people. We're gonna be just fine Rain, I promise. We can do this." He cooed to her, trying to comfort her.

message 678: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Perfect, not fervent.))

message 679: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Not annoying at all, promise. Well deserved I assure you.)

message 680: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice held her carefully and tried to comfort her. When she spoke, he listened and then responded sternly, "hey, you are not a baby Rain. You got us out of there almost all by yourself! No baby could've done what you did. So don't even think of saying that you are a baby. You did great and I'm proud of you." It was true, Rain had gotten them out of a really tough spot and dice wasn't quite sure if he could've made it out by himself. "I miss them too. I promise we'll find them." He added, letting his thoughts drift to tomb and chase. Where were they? Why hadn't they just stayed? Why had they left him and dice all alone? All these questions swirling in his mind as the boat rocketed over the water toward what dice figured would be mainland.

message 681: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I... I don't quite know. Its a weird sensation rain. You just feel so angry for no reason at all and you cant stop it. It feels like you take a backseat to your controls and lose yourself. It sucks rain, it really sucks." Dice replied, looking for a way to explain it. When Rain's next question came, Dice looked up at the vast expanse of water before them. the wind whipped his hair around his face and blew sea spray into his nostrils, causing him to smell the salty saline air that surrounded them. He knew based on the suns position where he needed to go, but he honestly had no clue about how long it would take to get there. "I dunno Rain, I dunno." He replied softly.

message 682: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Ah, don't worry about it Rain, it wasn't me that was getting hurt. Its not your fault rain, don't worry too much about it, I'm fine. I feel bad for the people I accidentally hit." He replied, cradling her in his arms as she gave a yawn. He could tell she was now tired from the physical exertions that she'd made in order to get them off the island alive. "Hey, why don't you take a nap Rain? Ill wake you up if I need you, but i think it would be a good idea to get some rest. You will be of more use energized rather than sleepy." Dice added, brushing some hair from Rain's face.

message 683: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As Rain fell asleep in his lap, Dice shifted so he was within reach of the motor so he could steer it. With Rain in his lap and his hand guiding the motor to the East, he ran his fingers through her hair the way he used to when she would refuse to go to sleep. This affection for her let his mind clear more than it had been since his sudden attack of rage. Leaning back, he sighed at his unusual predicament and what it meant for his little island home and those he loved still stranded upon it.

message 684: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments It had been a long and uneventful journey as rain slept. The sun had peaked in the sky and then climbed its way back down and was just beginning to sink into the horizon. When she woke, she took a second or two to orient herself, but when she looked at dice she must've decided that he looked tired because she immediately told him to get some sleep. She wasn't wrong, as he was very tired, but he needed to get them to where they were going. "I will once we get to our destination." He replied, keeping his eyes fixed on the horizon.

message 685: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice wasn't sure he liked this idea very much. He was the older one here and the responsibility was on his shoulders. If anything happened to Rain while he was sleeping, he would have no excuses and it would be his fault. Then again, if he had a chance to rest now, he needed to take it as he was no use to Rain If he was tired. "If anything at all happens, anything at all, you wake me up. I'm sleeping right here just in case though." Dice said to her. Then, with that, he laid down and fell asleep. He had been a lot more tired than he had let on.

message 686: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice awoke to a flutter of wings, the dull thud of someone landing next to him and then the news that there was a storm coming. Shit. He sat up and wiped the sleep out of his eyes. The light that had been shining brightly earlier was now ominously dimmed as clouds had begun to gather behind them. The boat was already going at full speed and they only had one more tank of gas left to make it wherever they were going. "Alright, well, this is about to get very interesting. Secure everything to the boat with whatever you have. I'll take a look at the compass and memorize our direction. Get ready for a wild ride." He said as he started rushing around the boat in preparation. His mind was completely cleared now as if the anger had taken a back seat and had shriveled and died.

message 687: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice checked the gauge on the gas tank and say they had enough gas to make it to land and after finding the direction and distance, decided they weren’t too far. Looking behind them, he saw the clouds closing in quick, bringing with it waves and a car off rumble of thunder. Noticing dice was a little too close to the boats edge, he grabbed her and plunked her in the center. “Rain, we are gonna race the storm to the mainland. Get ready.” He said, slamming the throttle into high speed and leaning into the wind as the boat shot forward, using the larger waves moving in from behind them as an assist. They definitely were out running the storm, but they just might make it in before they were completely caught up in it. “Rain! We are going to need to fill up the gas tank soon! Grab the fuel and move it over here so that when the time comes I can get to it right away!” He yelled over the wind. Soon enough he was going to have to turn off the engine to refill the gas tank. He needed to be fast because, if he wasn’t, they would pay the price.

message 688: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice kept an eye on rain as she threw up hooping they didn't hit a bump that would send her overboard. luckily, as they were flying over the waves, they were barely skimming the water making it a much smoother ride than previously. When Rain asked him if they were going to make it, he glanced down at the dash board in front of him and said, "We're about to find out." With that he made a gutsy decision to leave the the motor going as he went back to fill the gas tank. taking off his shirt, he tied the wheel up so that is would only point forward, at least, mostly forward and then grabbed the gas tank and shuffled to the back of the boat with the cumbersome gas can. He unscrewed the cap on the gas tank and started filling it, willing the slow trickle of gas to go faster as he held it over the open hole. This was like one of those stupid carnival games Chase had told Dice about from the mainland that looked easy enough but were impossible to win. He doubled down on his effort and wrestled the gas can into a more manageable position, feeling the boat to veer slightly left as the motor whined on in high gear.

message 689: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice ran back to the wheel swearing under his breath. The boat had veered off enough to cause some major turbulence as it hit the waves at awkward angles, and this caused Dice to spill a lot of gas. He wasn't sure if it would even be enough to make it to shore. Returning to the dashboard he looked and saw just above an eighth of a tank left. He had no Idea if he was going to make it with that little of gas. He swore again under his breath as he knew rain still hadn't learned those words and he had just learned them himself. "Rain, listen close, I need you to fly to shore for your safety. I need to try to get this boat back to shore safely or else we are gonna have a really tough time getting back with Chase and Tomb. Ill meet you on shore. I have enough gas to get back." He yelled over the sound of the motor and the wind. It wasn't a lie if you had no idea if it was true or not, right? It didn't matter. This storm was unusual and fierce, likely a camper back on the island with the rage infection was channeling it into a brutally powerful weather tantrum.

message 690: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice sighed as she rebutted, knowing how stubborn she could be. He knew that they might not make it and having her safe would be much better than both of them going down with the storm. "Rain, go now. The less weight on the boat, the faster it will go and the safer both of us will be. you need to trust me on this and get going." he yelled over the wind whipping against his face and trying to force air into his lungs. Big drops of rain started coming down, hitting every few seconds as the boat raced over the waves, bouncing just slightly. Rain needed to leave now because there was no way she could fly in heavy rain and that would put them both in a situation that had a decent probability of not ending well. Dice could now see a beach up ahead with some docks along the shore. It was still far off but now visible and gradually getting bigger as they zipped towards it. Pointing at it, he forced out, "Rain, GO!" as the wind was now making it impossible to speak and difficult to breathe.

message 691: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He barely heard the rebuttal but it didn't matter. Dice was gonna have to do something he really hoped he wouldn't have to do. He tied a cloth over his face to keep the winds from forcing his breathing, which helped a little, and then walked over to Rain, lifted her up and tossed her off the side of the boat, trying to throw her in a way that would orient her well to fly. He really didn't want that to happen but the alternative was risking severe injury or death to both of them. He had decided the risk of throwing her off were better. she wasn't heavy and he wasn't weak. Rushing back to the drivers seat having watched her transform he righted the boat and crossed his fingers that he would get there. Those big drops were becoming more frequent and a huge crash of thunder behind him sent a blowing gust at his back causing the boat to have a noticeable surge of speed.

message 692: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Dice had thought he'd seen something crash into the water far ahead of him and he hoped it wasn't Rain, but it hadn't looked all that far off from shore and if she had fallen, Rain was a surprisingly good swimmer. Besides, dice had his own things to worry about. checking his fuel levels, he was almost empty on gas. The shoreline was now clearly in front of him and only about 500 yards away. He kept zipping along and he started to hope that he might just make it. The rain was starting to accumulate in the boat and if he wanted to maintain his speed and efficiency of the boat he would need to start bailing water in a second. The shore kept coming towards him, 400 yards away, 300, 200! he was so close! He just needed to make it a little further and they would make it! His arms and back burned with the effort of hauling water overboard, causing him to tire but he dare not stop. He had to make it.

Guiding the boat to a dock near the beach, he was hoping he'd be able to save it of the round trip. As he got to the dock the engine sputtered and then stopped, out of gas. He had made it by the skin of his teeth and couldn't believe it. Securing the boat to the dock and hastily throwing a tarp over and securing it to the boat, he turned and ran to shore, now on the lookout for Rain. He had not felt good about what he had done to Rain but he needed to keep her safe and he was willing to do that any way he could. stepping on land, he let out a sigh of relief. It felt good to be back in a solid domain where the floor didn't shift and the substance didn't smother. The rain was beginning to turn to hail and it was starting to hurt. Looking around for cover he saw a tree line a little bit away from the beach. Taking one last survey around the area he had landed, he did not see Rain and decided that she had likely taken shelter in the trees as he intended to. Grabbing their stuff from the boat, he took off towards the trees at a brisk run, wanting to get protected in case the hail got bigger. Reaching the edge of the trees he slowed and called out to Rain, straining to be heard over the crashing of ice all around him. "Rain! come here! I need you! We gotta get going! Rain!" he screamed into the hail storm, sounding muffled under an icy blanket. He ran back and forth along the edge of the trees looking for her, making whatever noise he could. Maybe she left him? Maybe she truly was that angry? If so, this storm would be the least of his problems.
