The last book I read was Wayward Son. I was expecting a lot but it just screamed second-book syndrome.
I just finished The War of the Worlds and The War in the Air. It was slow at times but I really liked it, and I did prefer Air over Worlds. But I'm very curious to read more from H.G. Wells in the future.

I finished my last book for 2019 which was The Song of the Jade Lily by Kirsty Manning. I was interested in this book since it took place in Shanghai and Australia which we were lucky enough to visit. Unfortunately there was too much romance for me and I rated this book with 3 stars.

which is a wonderful hard sci-fi novel about first contact with the Rukh (pronounced Rook) that live on Saturn. The mission goes horribly wrong and the humans must rely on the intelligent Rukh for survival.
