Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Hey guys! Checking in!

Here is my idea for going about this...

I feel like all BRs planned should either be claimed ahead, since they're worth more points, or we could choose to only allow the claiming of 2-3 categories at a time, so categories aren't claimed and then never filled.

I'm also creating a spreadsheet now! (Link is now in original post!)

message 3: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Checking in!
And I'm with the 2-3 categories at a time plan.

message 4: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments I'm actually leaning towards that too, since sometimes BRs fall through too

message 5: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Yeah. Like I just skipped the Crimson Bound BR because I have two other books I'm currently reading.

message 6: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Haha exactly! I skipped 1 or 2 this month because I was busy with other books too.

We'll just wait for the others to check in, and then we can discuss who's claiming what first.

message 7: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments That works! I actually have exams for the first half of the month so I'm going to be reading light stuff for the time. Meaning no schedules. I can read any category as long as there's a fun book for it.

message 8: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Oh that's awesome!

I'll probably be the same way due to exams, but I do have 3 BRs planned from the 1st to the 12th so far. 12th-end of the month will be chock full because I'll have graduated, and will have tons of time on my hands

message 9: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments I often join read that have already been planned. So I'll mostly be doing that next month.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments I'm checking in! I'm about to go through my TBR list and see if I can find a book for each category. Although, I'm pretty sure that I won't find one for the future. I probably won't find one for horror either. That's not a genre I like to read.

message 11: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments I've probably got something for the future/past one, but I'm not a horror fan either. I'll read something if absolutely necessary (for more completions of that part), but I'd rather not xD

message 13: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments My first read is one that has bullying.

message 14: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Want me to put you down for that in the spreadsheet already then?

And I'll claim one for ACOWAR as well, since that's for sure happening

message 15: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments (I'm claiming a Sarah one for that, for Sarah J Maas)

message 16: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Also, The Dark Prophecy is next which has something that flies, on the cover.

message 17: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Yeah, you can mark those two down.

message 18: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Bullying book is All Closed Off (Rusk University, #4) by Cora Carmack

message 19: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Awesome! And I'll mark down for dark prophecy too, since I'm joining that

message 20: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Actually putting my dark prophecy for character name that starts with A (Apollo)

message 21: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (longy207) | 1581 comments Hi Guys, I'm checking in :) I've read with some of you before so that's nice. I just need to reread the rules but to be honest I just read whatever I feel like at the time. I will try to fit into any categories I can

message 22: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Sounds great Rebecca! There's a spreadsheet, linked above, so if you start reading a book you can claim a category there, or claim a category for a book you'll soon read! (Just try to claim no more than 3 categories)

message 23: by Rebecca (last edited Apr 23, 2017 12:19PM) (new)

Rebecca (longy207) | 1581 comments that's fine :) I'm probably be one of those who starts something then claim it at the last minute once I'm already 1/4 of the way through

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments These are the only ones I don't have books for:

Bullying
Set in future (2041)
House in title
Horror story
Published in 1995
Someone goes missing

message 25: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments That means everyone else will have to do those categories, since one person can only completed a description once.

message 26: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments I have house for sure, a short play that can be used actually.

I can try for horror, but it'll be a tough one

message 27: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments I can probably find something for all the categories (not that I'll be able to do all of them), but I refuse to make plans for next month. Need to focus on education.

message 28: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments I just realized that I plan to read the game of thrones series over the summer, and the first book is 835 pages. I could probably take on the first book on May then, and get that category down with one book :)

message 29: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Turns out I have a YA horror book (tagged by 150ish people), so I should be able to do that category! (it's also a super short book, which is great for the challenge)

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi guys! Checking in. You guys have been busy. I'll have to check what I can read. I am like Quirks though I usually join already made BRs. How many people can read the same category?

message 31: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments 4! :)

message 32: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Yeah, and one person is only allowed one book per category.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments Since we get 10 points bonus for each part we complete. Did we just want to pick a part to start with and have us work on that first?

message 34: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Part 1 first?

message 35: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments That works! And then if anyone has BRs that falls out of that they can just put those for other parts technically

message 36: by Eesh (last edited Apr 26, 2017 11:01AM) (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments The release date for the book I was going to read about bullying got pushed back (again) so I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird instead, which also fits, I think.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments Do you want to make the spreadsheet accessible to us? That way I can get on and claim what I need.

message 38: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Ah sorry!! I thought it was! I'll comment another link here, and update the original post once my power is back

message 39: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Okay I changed the link settings to edit, so it should work already

message 40: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Change of plans. My first read is one with trees on the cover.

message 41: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments @Quirks You should be able to change that in the spreadsheet, right? :)

message 42: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Yup

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

3 more hours....

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

working out my plan right now

message 45: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (longy207) | 1581 comments I'm fitting the ones I'm starting today on the spreadsheet as much as I can :)

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas , will update spread sheet and will start with A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas . I will post on review thread.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm almost done with The Maze Runner but don't know where to put it in Part 1. I will have to put it in the 800 pages one along with Divergent when I get to it.

message 48: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments The movie tie-in cover has earth on it. You could put it in that category.

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

Awesome. Cool will do that.

message 50: by Meaghan (new)

Meaghan (ectophine) | 3596 comments Starting ACOWAR today, will try and fit it the best way I can that doesn't start doubling up categories yet :) will then fit in a few quick stories and plays to try and get categories as well
