K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments That's great news V! I'll have to queue that one up. ;)

Good luck on the move Emma!

Good luck in the interview Lauren!

Lots of good things going on. ;). Camping, books and tea sound fabulous...

We're heading out of town right now for some lacrosse games. My daughter plays for her HS team and they have about 6 games over the weekend. It's pretty chilly here for May (45-50 degrees) but just happy to see sun!! It's rained pretty much 24/7 for the last week.

message 152: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments well no sun here and it a little colder, at a nippy 12° !!!!
Currently have the heating on and cosying up on the couch after giving the dog a de-flea 😷

Thank God for Johnson's tablets, they are the bomb!!

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Haha!! Good times!!!

Our little dude got groomed yesterday. It had been so long - we hardly recognized him when we picked him up.

When the wind isn't blowing, it's not too bad on the bleachers...says the woman with the 5 layers wrapped in a blanket.

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments Yeah Clive is going to have a bath tomorrow, that includes 20 minutes of chasing him around the house trying to catch him lol.

I'm having an Andi Arndt marathon, just finished The Player (The Player, #1) by K. Bromberg and now starting Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland which is her and Sebastian York narrating!!!😍🔥💖

Tori Coulson has anyone read Anansi Boys? I'm having some problems with it and I'm looking for someone who's read the book to answer a couple questions. I think I'll just have to put it to one side and start something different til I figure it out

Ghost in the Stacks Today was family BBQ day, so I have spent most of the day out in the sun and reading. It is about 87° here, so I will be a little pink when I get in later on.
My pup hates baths, the little guy acts like we are murdering him or something.

Karen (karen-ann) | 140 comments Having a quiet day at home after a long shift at work yesterday.
Last week discovered a Robin was nesting amongst my books on a top shelf of my book case today noticed a chick has hatched so cute. lol just can't close the window to that room now.

Finished A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
A charming whimsical story.

Started to read None So Blind by Alis Hawkins

Hope you all have a great weekend

message 158: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson after my problems with anansi boys I'm moving on to something else. I'm trying a court of thrones and roses and I'm powering on with Bill bryson.

sorry I'm not linking the books. I don't know how on the phone

I've bought American Gods, which is set in the same world as Anansi Boys. I'm really hoping I don't have similar issues as I hate paying for a book that I can't get through!

message 160: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments K-Terror you are a reading machine!!!!

message 161: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson I LOVED American Gods! it was brilliant. anansi boys is very different so far. It's the idea of using god powers to try and steal someone's girlfriend that's just sitting wrong with me. it feels creepy

message 162: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Ha, what a waste of god powers! Surely there is something better they could be used for!

message 163: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments Sighhhhh.....

Still on my Andi Arndt kick, love her narrating, now starting Twist (Dive Bar, #2) by Kylie Scott 😍😘🔥

message 164: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I'll have to look out for her narrations. I love finding a good narrator! I love Juliet Stevenson for English classics, she's definitely my go-to narrator for those.

message 165: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments she's great, she narrated all of the Stage Dive series

Ghost in the Stacks Emma wrote: "K-Terror you are a reading machine!!!!"

She sure is, she has us currently in 5th place!

Ghost in the Stacks V-Nerd or Emma, I submitted The glass Jar, however the page count is not popping up on the spreadsheet. Here is the edition I read:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... with 336 pages

message 168: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments no probs Abbie I'll pick it up, it currently isn't picking up any kindle books so we are having to override them all, I'll check it out and add it now x

message 169: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments :) Monday's and Tuesdays I work on a lot of standard reports so I've got my buds in while I'm knocking them out.

So far this challenge, my favorite books have been:
The Mason List by S.D. Hendrickson The Lost Girls by Heather Young

I've noticed that too with mine, so that makes sense it's the kindle books.
Mine look all populated now though. Thanks ladies!

The Lost Girls by Heather Young is on my TBR so I'm glad to hear you liked it!

I've just finished Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann which is my favourite so far. Really interesting but heartbreaking true crime story.

It's one of those that you have to ...wait for it.... ....wait for it..... .....wait for it.... (which I used to suck at) ~ But the way it all came together made me glad that I'd read it!

message 182: by Kay Kay (new)

Kay Kay | 1794 comments Oh, never mind!! I guess they are there. I have the book Circle from the library now, and am planning on reading it and answering the questions. Will it still count?

message 183: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments yes it still counts Karrie

message 184: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson I'm still plodding on with my two books. I love them both. Bill bryson is brilliant and interesting and court of thorns and roses is lovely. I can't stop reading it everywhere

message 185: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments everyone loves that series but me lol

Have you started reading A Gentleman in Moscow yet Tori?

message 187: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson Nope. gonna start it when i finished 'Court of Thorns and Super Long Book Titles'. Shouldnt be long now though, I cleared 10% on my lunch break but i did have to return to the office on a book hangover

What does everyone do for a living? I'm a purchaser for a soft drink company. Its quite fun. The factory is through the office window and all the lads are super funny. The job is strangely satisfying when everything runs well

message 188: by Karen (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments I work as an analyst at a vacation exchange company. My favorite days are my Mondays & Tuesdays because I can usually listen to audio books while updating my standard reports.

message 194: by Tori (new)

Tori Coulson wow collectively we do some interesting shit!

I wish I was allowed headphones at work. they help me concentrate but my boss says no.

we had an hour long chat tonight about how he wants me to come up with a three year plan and help me achieve it. considering we've barely spoken before this is good. however I can't go into work tomorrow and as him hope many babies can I possibly have in three years. (I got married last August and I've been baby crazy my whole adult life, I have an army of nieces and nephews and I adore them)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments weirdly enough I used to work for the same company as K in the UK about 15 years ago, and she came there once, I wonder if we ever spoke, that would be so weird!

Ghost in the Stacks I work for the City at the Water Department.
I coordinate with clerical, Field crew, and management...lucky not very many customers. Majority of my job is data entry, so I get to listen to audio most of the day.

How funny if you did, and what a coincidence, especially considering you live in different countries. M
