Spring 2017 Challenge
Meg wrote: "Thanks Kimberly and Marie!Marie, I actually already have the word picked out, with the books that go with all letters. I'm just hesitant to commit yet. I mean how awful if I don't finish 😕"
Meg, I know what you mean! I just realized the end of the Spring Challenge is June 20. Perhaps I can find a really short word to use... ;-)
Spring Challenge--I want to do one extra word!Yes, "KITE" is a very short word, but when I went through my TBR, books jumped out at me for it! And I found one in my May challenge. Since it's so short, I will give myself the extra challenge to finish by May 31! :) (revised 5/6/17 and 5/7 and 5/12)

Spring Challenge--finished my one extra word!Yes, "KITE" is a very short word... Since it's so short, I gave myself the extra challenge to finish by May 31! :) Done!
K—Murder under Cover, Kate Carlisle (5/7!)
I—Dying Wishes, Judith K. Ivie (5/12!)
T—Talking God, Tony Hillerman (5/6!)
E—A Moveable Feast, Ernest Hemingway (5/14!)
This was fun! Not sure if I will try another word, or just finish May and wait for Summer Challenge. I seem to remember Heather posting that "baseball" was going to be a word in the Summer Challenge. If so, perhaps she will OK using the phrase "Boys of Summer" as my phrase. I don't follow many sports, but I love baseball! :)
Thanks, Marisa, Heather, and Meg! :) These challenges are such fun! Now I'll finish my May Challenge and wait for the Summer Challenge. Unless I get a wild wish to try just one more word for Spring...Meg, you can always try one more word. Even if you don't finish all the books, you will still have read some great books--there is no downside to reading! :)

It's amazing how few of my cozies fit into this!
finally remembered to update my challenge. have read 12/23. original post #12 on page #1 of this thread.
As of today May 18, 2017, I have finished the Spring Challenge. My post number 21 lists the books read for the words lilacs, Easter, and robin. Now to wait for the Summer one to start in June.
Thanks for all congratulations and best wishes to those who have completed their spring words. It is great to read all the book titles!

Death by Chocolate by Sally Berneathy (cosy)
Rosalee Station by Mandy Magro (non cosy)
The Red Hunter by Lisa Unger (non cosy)
The Road to Winter by Mark Smith (non cosy)
Hope that helps - I have other D books but that one's a cosy which I enjoyed. I've read all of them :)
Kathy wrote: "I love this challenge! I need two books recommended for completion of Snowdrop. D and R."R authors on my list include Rhys Bowen, Ann B. Ross, Ritter Ames, Robin Allen, Emilie Richards and Michael Robertson. Not all of their books are cozies, but most are. Of these, I'd recommend the Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen.
R titles I've read that are first in their series: The Rhyme of the Magpie or Rosemary and Crime. I enjoyed The Rhyme of the Magpie more than the other, but every reader is different :)

Also would recommend:
Maddie Day - Flipped for Murder
Donna Andrews - Meg Laslow
Barbara Ross - Clammed Up
Though I totally agree with the recommendations for D (Death by Chocolate) and R (Rhys Bowen)
Oh My! Now I have so many new books to read. Thank you guys! I love to find new authors. I will have to start a new word!
Kathy, if you enjoy Ann B. Ross, another "R" author you might consider is Rita Lakin. Her GLADDY GOLD series is such fun! Gladdy, like Miss Julia, is a "retired" amateur sleuth, brave, funny, hesitant about relationships, and with a good heart--always wants to help those in trouble! And yes, these were some excellent suggestions--more for my happily growing TBR List!
Excellent job Trish and Brenda. I love to see what others read. I get such good ideas. Found Rhys Bowen last month from a list and I just found two more to go on my "geez I need to read these" list: Julianna Deering and Nancy J Cohen. I love these challenges though I am not always successful.
Congrats on finishing, Karen and Brenda!
Kathy: You can always search the titles posted for the Featured Cozy Authors, or browse the group bookshelf for recommended titles. '-)

S: Murder at the 42nd Street Library
T: Ghosthunting San Antonio, Austin, and Texas Hill Country
E: The Deep End
R: Roadmarks
P: Pushing up Daisies
U: United as One
D: Dreaming of America: An Ellis Island story
D: Dory Dory Black Sheep
L: City Trails - London
E: The Runaway Egg
Good job Beverly, you go Britney, I know you will finish.I agree with all those who love to see what others read. It just adds more to the TBR which is fun. If I lived to be 1000, I will never finish by TBR because I just keep adding to it. ;)
Congratulations, Beverly, or anyone else I have forgotten to mention! Still a little bit of time left to squeeze in one more tiny word. ;-)
Hooray! I made it -- just barely, but I finally finished that fifth book. Thanks to everyone for the kind remarks urging me on and wishing me well. You'll never know how much it meant and how it helped give me energy. Cozy readers are the best! And congratulations to all who finished -- early or late. Now onwards to June.
*whew* Some of your comments made me think this challenge ends tomorrow (May 31), so I went back to the first post to check. What a relief to confirm that it does indeed continue until June 20. Good thing, as I still have a few books to read :)

Was this meant for the May mini challenge rather than this Spring challenge? There's still 3 weeks left to the Spring challenge.
