I don't remember who told me about Reader's Favorites,(someone from here, thank you very much- whoever you are!!)) but they give free reviews. I submitted a few of our books to test them out and most of the reviews were good enough to put in the editorial section of Amazon.

Christine (christineroney) | 261 comments I just got back from a trip and I'm trying to catch up. I've read everyone's posts and I'm really happy so many good things are happening for you all!

Could have been me, I use them all the time for my books. They have loved all my children's books. Also we got an award there, like you did! ;)

Anita Dickason (anitadickason) | 220 comments I like Readers' Favorite and also used their review service for my books. Matter of fact, theirs was the first review for each book. Each got a five star and it was a huge boost. I have used their reviews in the press releases and other promotions for the books. As soon as I get the new book completed, I will be using them again.

Yep, they also have a section now where you can grab a copy of a press release tailored for each book and it's free for the template. Pretty cool!

You should be one proud mama, Carole. ;)

Thank you for telling us about the press release, Ben. I didn't know they had that. :)

Nice! Also, about reader's fav, they post their reviews on Goodreads, Barnes & Noble if you ask them.

Yes I red they do that. The best part is the reviews are free, unless you want them faster than the 12 weeks.

message 1667: by Ben (new)

Ben Jackson | 320 comments For my kid's books, I don't think I have ever waited for longer than 1-2 weeks.

message 1668: by Carole (new)

Carole P. Roman | 4665 comments Mod
Yes, they did the kids book really fast- the turnaround was sometimes just a few days- but the adult books took a like 12 weeks. But I was in no rush.

message 1669: by Erica (new)

Erica Graham (erica_graham) | 1496 comments Mod
Three of my kids books were done in just days, but the forth was 4 weeks. I think it may have slipped through the cracks, but it was done eventually.

message 1670: by Carole (new)

Carole P. Roman | 4665 comments Mod
Yes- it took them a while to start on us- but then I had a bunch done at once.

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments Just submitted Iridessian Haunts to the Radish Halloween collection now that there's enough of it written to do so. "give us a halloween story" they said in late September. Me two weeks later: OK here's something brand new. (They'd better bloody feature it lol)

It's a great feeling when you get a good review, right? Congratulations Trishna. I received a great review myself today from our local paper.

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments Well done everyone. I like all the good news.

I've also got a thing that reads out loud to me. It's brilliant. Things I wish I had before I published my first book were Grammarly, PWA and the read aloud option.

message 1691: by Amy (new)

Elina Vale (elinavale) | 57 comments Just got the final proofread from my editor.
It's finished.
I can't believe I actually did it! I wrote a novel.

This may sound a bit silly to you all, but actually having it finished after 1,5 years makes me just.... thrilled and SCARED! Because now, I have no excuses to not cross the line and publish the damn thing. (And it's kind of freaking me out a bit)

message 1694: by Amy (new)
