Not sure this qualifies for a good happening, maybe more of an interesting happening. My small town has one huge downtown festival every year, and it was yesterday. Myself, and two other authors who live in the area setup a book signing. While we sold a lot of books, that is not what caught my attention. It was the dynamics of the buyers. It was the older segment of the crowd, 50 and up. The younger set either wasn’t interested or if they were wanted to know where to buy online.

Well, I am on the far, far side, LOL. An interview question a while back asked what is my favorite electronic reader. I said I didn't have one.

My first blog tour and it sure got off to a great start. Books Chatter is the first stop and what an amazing site. Pictures were added to my interview to add highlights. One was Benedict Cumberbatch. Wow, if only that would happen-sigh, sigh.

Thanks! Carole is one person I can always depend on :)

I'm very excited today! We just hit the milestone of 40 reviews for Monsterland on Amazon. Thanks to all who read and reviewed the book enabling us get there.
I didn't know this was important ( the number, I mean), but the publisher said that when you hit 40, Amazon will start to promote your book. I have no hard facts to back this up- but I figured if he said it he must know.
I also noticed, every day, they are deleting reviews from my books. One day it will say 30, the next 25, then it's back up to 28 or 30 and the last one never changes- so it's not new reviews. It's frustrating.

I wish I could remember more of when we started. Right out of the gate, they promoted Stillwell and made it a pick on Kindle- I didn't even know until friends started calling us and saying when they opened their Kindle they saw his book. Back then, I thought they did that with everyone- boy, was I naive. I don't know what the magic number is- but I'll let you know how he's doing.

I sweating this one more than any of the others!! His rating just dipped a bit on Goodreads. Three two stars- Only one left a review. I'm not bothered by it- but I wish they would explain what they didn't like.

I know!!! That's so true. He's got one star that went up the day the book came out- no review- I wish they had to say something.

Congratulations, Alex! That's awesome! Hugs
Well done on all those reviews Michael and Alex. If I ever hit double figures on anything I write I'd be thrilled.

     I'm not convinced.
I'm not convinced.I made it onto the front page of Radish Fiction again. This time I'm in the Exclusive to Radish for Missing Remnants. I don't seem to be able to get Iridessian Haunts featured on anything. I'm wondering if they have a minimum number of chapters that have to be written before they'll consider a book. (Only got 7 so far.) There are only 4 books listed for being exclusive, they could have filled a gap with the other one of mine.
They continue to list books on the front page which break their own rules by having words on the covers. 7.8k, 36.9k and 196 views (but that one is a USA today best seller). So the rules do not apply to people with a huge following and people who are already best sellers. What happened to discovering new talent?
This is where I grasp minuscule things: Celebrating the first time ProWritingAid claimed I didn't write any passive verbs or adverbs in a chapter, or rather not enough to worry it. (And I haven't killed anyone in the book either!)

My good news is my debut novel Salvageable is going to be offered in a Goodreads giveaway starting tomorrow! Every step with this process is a learning experience and boy, am I learning!

My good news is that I mentioned my two days free on my novel via Facebook and Twitter. Readers/fellow writers/random strangers reposted and retweeted, and I had 226 downloads before my paid promotion went out.
