Thank you Carole, Nathan, Sam and Carrie! I held off on making a website because I felt so intimidated. It feels incredible to have this completed! I feel like I can do anything...I am ready to take over the world! Bwahahaha *takes deep breaths "calm down, your getting a little carried away"* lol :)
Congrats, Amy! We'll have to do a follow-up interview...How It Felt Before, During, And Immediately After Writing My Second Book. :) Erica, your website looks divine!

Well done Alex. Superb. See, I have this theory-people see a book that is a, call it a level of price expected from trad publishing, and they may see the book as "valid" if it's not priced the same as all the other free/99p books. A percentage of which (obviously not all) will be poorly written by people who cannot write. Please note I am not saying that anyone who has a book that is free or 99p cannot write. I am saying that a percentage might be perceived that way. That make sense?
Yes this is absolutely true, with pricing we can just change it as and when we want, which is a huge benefit.
Congrats, Alex! Hopefully it's just one of many!As for me, I'm finally moved into my new apartment. I have my own space again, with a writing desk and everything. It's not perfect, but it's amazing to be on my own again. Hopefully it will mean I'm very productive over the next few months!
Side note: I won't have internet for a while because of course they are taking 100 years to set it up. That means I won't be around much, as I can't hotspot from my phone forever! Just more reason to be productive...
Congrats Alex and Aislinn! I found moving my book price up hasn't hurt me either only helped, so go figure! I'll have to wait a while to see how iBooks etc all pan out over the next few weeks. Biting my nails going wide, but keeping the faith.
congrats to e'erbody with the great news. Havent posted much myself, as not much is going on with sales...but I did get my spanking new, awesome book cover from RL for book 2 in my series. And I got a 4 star review/rating on amazon from somebody I didn't even know or make a request to
Well done everyone. Nice to have your own place and a desk Aislinn. I'm still pushing my kneecaps out of place with my laptop.Good luck with the sales everyone. I'm still at 1 or 2 per month and really not expecting that to change lol.
Tonight I came to a momentous decision. I've run my own business now for 16 years and at the moment it is struggling due to lack of custom. For years I have worked during the day and into the evening with clients coming to my house. I have in the past worked up until 9pm some years. Recently I've seen very few people in the evening. I have a condition that means I battle with chronic fatigue every day. Today I announced I will only be working 10-4 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and no evenings. One of my consultants lives in my road, she finishes her day job and then continues with the same business I have in the evenings. As I'm barely seeing anyone in the evening any more I've sent messages to the most recent past clients and informed them that I no longer offer evenings, but that my colleague does. It is a huge weight off my mind and probably inconvenienced about zero people!
My book trailer for the Creatura Series got nominated for an award! http://bit.ly/VOTE_UTOPiAawards2017

Book expo if anyone is interested. Last call for Foreword Book Expo. https://publishers.forewordreviews.co...
Random paperback sale in the states. Quite willing to believe someone clicked buy now by mistake lol...
Thanks so much for the votes and the nice comments about my trailer! Everyone in here has such great news! Celebs, interviews... I can't believe how much our group has grown! Every time I come in here to read up, there's so many more threads and posts. I can't keep up! But that just means now there's an overabundance of good advice and support. Thanks to the moderators and to the members for keeping it real. ;) Off to read more threads now. xx
Alex wrote: "Thank you ladies, it really made my day/week/month. The only downside to these designers is the incredibly long lead time for a cover project, if they had less of a lead time I'd recommend them to ..."How long? Is that the 7 month one for hundreds of £?
Ah um yeah. Maybe not them then. Plus Nate and Day is a mere 108 pages of action in a 9x6 trim. I think something with fewer numbers after the £ will suffice.
