Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Just about to finish Jim Butcher's First Lord's Fury.
Then I'll do a quick refresh/skim of The Way of Kings, so I can quickly start Words of Radiance.

message 3: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments I just posted in the May thread so will post it here since I'm a day behind and I LOVED it:

I just finished the new audio version of The Master of Whitestorm by Janny Wurts, narrated by Simon Prebble. I had read the book in 2011 and loved it but the audio version put me over the moon! It's fantastic and I upped my star rating from 4 to 5 stars. I've always loved Simon Prebble, but I've never heard him like he is narrating this book. If anyone enjoys audiobooks I highly recommend it!

message 4: by Martha (new)

Martha (tilla) | 194 comments Reading "My Life with the Fairies of Willow Creek" on Kindle right now and am hoping to start "Journey Into Mystery" graphic novel as soon as it gets here

message 5: by Dan (new)

Dan Howitt Last month was spent delving into works by authors I had previously enjoyed. So this month I figured I would do the opposite and try some new authors. For starters I'm reading The Red Knight, which is pretty good so far. Then I am finally going to get around to Brandon Sanderson with Mistborn: The Final Empire.

I've been doing reading and playing. :)
I went to post and realized it was June today!
;)

I've mostly been keeping up with various group reads, but I'll add that to my "want to read " list.

message 7: by Talitha (new)

Talitha (victorian_soul) I'm reading "Thief's Magic" by Trudi Canavan, and looking into reading the rest of the Dresden Files, since I've read the first one.
Thief's Magic (Millenium’s Rule, #1) by Trudi Canavan

message 13: by Ayaj Khan (new)

Ayaj Khan ( বন্ধন ) Just finished Skin game by Jim Butcher. As usual it was a great read. Lots of action and humour. Now planning to start The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan.

message 14: by Drew (new)

Drew I am working on A Crown of Swords on audiobook, The Rose and the Thorn on Kindle, and I hope to get to Promise of Blood, Prince of Thorns, and The Way of Kings.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Well Dune definitely earns all that praise it gets. Really great book. Here's my review.

I started Promise of Blood, interesting beginning so far.

message 16: by Bruce (last edited Jun 04, 2014 08:54AM) (new)

Bruce Nordstrom Right now I'm reading third book in Cecellia Holland's
"Corban" series. Love it, and trying hard to finish the last two books in the series. This is technically a "history fiction" book, but it has some very strong fantasy/magic ties.

message 17: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished Sworn in Steel, which was a lot of fun, and am currently reading an old one, Caesar Dies by Talbot Mundy.

message 18: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments I finished Sorcerer's Legacy, newly out in audio by Janny Wurts, narrated by Emily Gray who is terrific. I really enjoyed it. It's a fast paced peril ridden tale with a touch of romance. Very nice.

message 19: by Mary (new)

Mary | 25 comments With any luck both my Math and Humanities textbook.

message 20: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Finished The Republic of Thieves. I really enjoyed it. Great to have Locke and Jean back again. I only wish it felt less like there were two books in one. Also I don't know if it was because I was up late at night finishing this, but the epilogue was downright terrifying.

I just started Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.

I also expect to be finished with The Emperor's Blades pretty soon too.

message 21: by Hudson (new)

Hudson (bostonrich) I just started the Malazan series and I am on Deadhouse Gates. My head is spinning!

message 22: by Benji (last edited Jun 03, 2014 03:34PM) (new)

Benji Glaab (demolitionlegend) Undertaking the second installment The Warrior Prophet in R. Scott Bakker prince of nothing trilogy. The first of the trilogy was phenomenal.
With an outrageous schedule this month one book should do it.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished Promise of Blood! Here's my review
Moving on to Prince of Fools which I'll be reading with the girlfriend, and American Craftsmen, which I'll read on the side.

Bev (greenginger) | 744 comments Read Breakfast at Tiffanys by Capote and hope to start the new Sandserson book soon or Heart of Darkness.

message 25: by André (new)

André Caniato (vardamir) I'm currently reading some stuff I've been reading for quite a while. Can't seem to stop interrupting their reading to read something else.

The Prose Edda, Half of a Yellow Sun, To Kill a Mockingbird and Granta 121 (the Brazilian edition).

message 26: by Trevor (new)

Trevor (clevtrev) | 32 comments I can't remember the last time I posted a comment here. Anyway, I just finished reading Prince of the Blood and The King's Buccaneer. Both books were fun adventures, as Feist's books tend to be.

Next up is The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

message 27: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments I'm reading the lovely, lyrical The Bards of Bone Plain and it's making me want to reread The Ships of Merior which is also about a bard. In fact, it makes me want to reread that whole series!

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Ditched American Craftsmen. Couldn't stand reading further. Here's my review

I'm reading Prince of Fools slowly with my girlfriend, and The Garden of Stones on the side.

message 29: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished Caesar Dies (it was short; the ending was not a surprise) and started Veil of the Deserters, the second in Jeff Salyards's series.

message 30: by Ian (new)

Ian Hall | 169 comments im reading the sorcerers ring series by morgan rice, im on book 7 at the moment and really enjoying it

message 31: by Heather (new)

Heather | 35 comments Just finished The Mayfair Moon and hoping to score a copy of the next book but working on River Marked while I wait.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished Prince of Fools! A very, very different book from any of the Broken Empire books. Here's my review

I'm on to The Garden of Stones, seems like stock fantasy but with some crazy creative worldbuilding so far.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Finally started Words of Radiance.

Might take me the rest of the year to finish.
;)

message 34: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Finished The Emperor's Blades. Good start for a debut novel. Going back to The Empire of the Stars now.

message 38: by Jason (last edited Jun 11, 2014 01:04PM) (new)

Jason (jdplusg) Continuing The Stars Came Back. Fun read so far, written in screenplay format. After getting used to that it has kept me turning pages excitedly to see what happens next.

message 40: by Ian (new)

Ian Hall | 169 comments Im reading crucible of souls and then blood of innocents by mitchell hogan

message 41: by Christian (new)

Christian Currently re-reading the Recluce saga by L.E. Modesitt Jr.

message 42: by Tara (new)

Tara (tarabookreads) I'm half way through reading Words of Radiance .. love it

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished up The Obsidian Heart. Here's my review. I can't believe these books aren't more well known in SFF circles; The Garden of Stones kicked The Red Knight out of the top spot for my favorite 2013 debuts, and The Obsidian Heart only ratchets up everything that was excellent in The Garden of Stones.

message 45: by Lara (new)

Lara | 84 comments This month so far I've read The Assassin's Curse (The Assassin's Curse, #1) by Cassandra Rose Clarke and Thief's Magic (Millenium’s Rule, #1) by Trudi Canavan , two very different books.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished The Pillars of Sand, great ending to one of the most underrated fantasy series released last year. Here's my review.

Now it's on to Hollow World! Looking forward to what sort of tale I can expect from Michael J. Sullivan post-Riyria.
