Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Yes, I've been to Oklahoma I have a lot of family in Nebraska very flat for sure :-) where I live I can drive an hour to the mountains or an hour to the beach, but we do pay the price in the summer because it gets very hot, but we don't have much in the way of humidity, so that's nice... LOL my AutoCorrect just changed humidity to humanity ;-)

Nichole | 620 comments Sounds like a nice little spot to be in! I can see where the heat would take someone's humanity, LOL! I sure get cranky in the summertime when my face is melting!

Watch the third one, too! The ending to that trilogy is pretty good actually.
And good on you for watching the Swedish version! She's a great actress.

Do you live in California? I know we've been having some serious drought problems the past years or so, but hopefully the rain we've been having this month should counteract it. If not, we'll just have to berit.

Shame- I live in Northern California, near Oregon. I've only been to the southern part of California a few times during the summer, but I cannot stand the heat. (I know it's not THAT hot, but I prefer the colder weather here.)
Also, that was the most non-stalkerish question I've ever heard. ;D

My little corner of Canada is fairly mild since I'm on the west coast. Pretty similar to Seattle weather. I think this is the first time in three years the snow has actually stuck around in my town. I'm really not a fan. This is the only time of year that I like the fact that my boyfriend has an obnoxiously large truck.

Ghost in the Stacks Weekly Update! We are doing really good so far!

We just have Jennifer & Carrie finishing up Hand One. Nichole and I have finished Hand two.

So what are you all reading, and what hand/ card do you think it might work for?

message 266: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I just finished another book, I will post both my books in an hour, I've just been feeling so miserable, but I slept over 12 hours last night so currently I think I'm OK :-)
I'm finding the most trouble with five the letter I, however my next book will start with that letter so it will work for that :-) I also have a book I need to review that starts with an I but I keep putting it off,, but I need to finish it within the next week I think or I'll get blacklisted from reviewing audiobooks, LOL

It really does get cold up here sometimes, but I'm glad you've been to Sonoma! The furthest I've gone south was to Los Angeles to visit a few friends in July, but that type of heat is definitely not for me! I think if I'd went any closer to the equator I'd probably melt.

☑️1 first in the series
☑️2 title

message 277: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments I'm listening to Blood Trade (Jane Yellowrock, #6) by Faith Hunter and was planning to use it for a #4 but it works for a few other cards too. And I will probably start The Shadow Queen (Ravenspire, #1) by C.J. Redwine tomorrow-ish. It works for one of those skips that we have a ton of! I have a slew of cards that work for skips though, so I'm not too worried about those. I have several that will work for #5 too but not as many for #7, #8.

message 278: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Sometimes it will show on your Kindle, I'm gonna go check that right now on this above book, I wonder if I missed somebody? I'm feeling a lot better today slept for over 12 hours last night :-) now I'm starting a book that starts with a I for both this and my trip to India with Abbie...
I also need a book with a watch or clock on the cover any suggestions? It is for Pictionary it should be over soon :-)

message 279: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments I'm glad you're feeling better!

Watch or clock.... let me see if I have anything.

message 280: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) This book doesn't have the x-ray feature working, I can't figure why some do and some don't...

message 281: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments Well, watches and clocks are not very common but I found a few. Don't know if you would like any of them...

Firelight (Darkest London, #1) by Kristen Callihan Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella Marking Time (The Immortal Descendants, #1) by April White

Ghost in the Stacks I did Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman for the watch or clock task.

No worries Carrie, we have till the end of the month ;)

message 286: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) It's all good, we all read at our own pace, and some people have life situations that allow them to read more than others :-)

message 287: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments What they said! This is supposed to be for Fun above all else. It's no fun when you feel like reading becomes a chore you have to get done.

message 288: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 143 comments So very true. Doesn't help that I changed my mind on my book after the 1st lol.

message 289: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Also we have friends on other teams that are crazy readers , like they read more than a book a day, so I'm just thinking unless the rest of their team doesn't read much,.... some of us did wobble this crazy challenge a few months ago it was a six-month challenge, but seriously people read crazy amounts of books during that time I think one girl read over 900 books in six months???

message 290: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 143 comments 900 books in 6 months? Sweet merciful. How in the world did they do that???

message 291: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Not sure ;-)

Ghost in the Stacks Its magic....

Ghost in the Stacks I am just lucky, I have a job where I can listen to my audio most of the day. I can usually finish an audio book in a day or two.

message 294: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments *side eyes*

 photo vq65xd.gif

That's astounding! I guess if you have short audios/books going and don't sleep, work, eat, bathe...live, I might believe that. But really, how could you even remember anything if you're going through them so fast!

Ghost in the Stacks I have no clue.

I listen most of the day, and at the MOST get one book a day.

If I did one book a day, that would only be 365 book per year....so it would take me almost three years to read over 900

message 296: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) But some people listen at a really fast speed, personally I can't catch anything, so what is the point? But maybe their brains work quicker than mine ;-)

Ghost in the Stacks I have tried to speed it up, but then I can't understand whats happening, so I dont even mess with that.

message 298: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments It just seems like it would defeat the purpose of reading. Or at least enjoying it. I have chipmunked a book or 2 before and it's not enjoyable, lol. I remember doing it with The Old Man and the Sea trying to beat Natalie in capture the flag. I really couldn't tell you what happened in it... I totally lost by the way, lol.

message 299: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 620 comments No. It was The Tempest by William Shakespeare

Ghost in the Stacks I guess all you need to know about that one is that he battles a giant fish.
