✔☀ Mount Washburn-Mount Washburn is a spectacular peak in Yellowstone National Park. It rises to an impressive 10,243 feet and is the highest in the Washburn Range. Various hikes lead up its flanks including the Mount Washburn Trail, considered one of the best hikes in the park. In summer, visitors can see beautiful wildflowers here as well as bighorn sheep grazing on its slopes. ✿Go to the bottom of your “to-read” and click the little arrow next to the sort box and choose “num ratings” and then in the box per page choose 40. Among the most popular are the wolf packs that live in this area. Others include grizzly bear, badgers, pronghorn, deer and bison. There are multiple pull-offs and if you see lots of vehicles pulled over there is something to see. ✔☀ Roaring Mountain-This hissing mountain of steam is the only thing like it in the park. Roaring Mountain is a barren hillside of thermal features called fumaroles. It got its name from the loud hissing and roaring that it makes due to thermal activity and could be heard miles away in the days of its discovery. Nowadays the roaring has quieted a bit but can still be heard if you listen carefully.
