It is in the darkest hours of a universe’s past that their legends are born and their heroes rise…

No one knows exactly how much heart they have until their mettle is put to the hazard and they reach the lowest point of hell. There, they have only two choices. Lie down and die. Or find the strength to push themselves to their feet and fight back with everything they have.

Dagger is the alias that is used by Ushara’s husband, and the father of the twins, who is on the run for his life. This is his story and shows how he became a member of the Tavali and what happens to them after Born of Betrayal ends.

Kenyon does it again! I couldn't put it down! Every time I start a new League book I think it can't be better than the last... but it always is. Born of Legend does not disappoint. Since this review is being written pre-release I will not give away any spoilers, but I did notice a lot of parallels to Styxx (DH series). You think you know and hate a character by their actions in previous books, but in reality you have no idea what they've been through until you get to their story. Born of Legend tugged at my heart strings, made me laugh, and infuriated me in some moments. Dagger has become my favorite character in the League series, and I look forward to more of him in upcoming books.

**Best League Book Yet- IMO. So good I'm re-reading it already! I loved Dagger that much!**

He goes by many names: Dagger Ixur, Julien Dagger Samari, but the villain we all love to hate the former Tiziran Jullien Eton Anatole is back and this is his story. Jullien a.k.a. Dagger currently goes into hiding after the League and his evil family place a Kill-Thrill Warrant on his head for all the evil atrocities he had committed in the past not knowing that he had no control to his actions due to his family's callousness and abuse towards him. All he wants to do is be left alone and go to Tophet the Andarion Hell-realm. All that changes when a young Andarion boy saves his life against a bunch of Alien slave traders and the mother of the boy a Tavali Admiral named Ushara Altaan slowly falls in love with him. Can she be able to save him from those with dark intentions that want to gut him for breathing or will Jullien rise from the ashes to become the legendary warrior he has always meant to be? Read on and find out for yourself.

This book was amazing! I loved the dialogue, it was action-packed, had characters you could love and hate, and more. If you love Space Pirates, corrupt governments, and more, then you will enjoy this book and the rest of the League series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This was a great installment and can't wait to read more in the future. This book is available at your local library and wherever books are sold.

The 9th book in the The League series and 11th in The League: Nemesis Rising series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Jullien eton Anatole has a Thrill-Kill Contract out on him and after being wounded with a poisoned weapon he knows his time is up. He walks into a dive and thinks its a good place to die. But he is determined to do at least one thing right before he dies and rescues a boy from slavers. Who knew that saving the boy would also save him? Ushara of the Fyreblood Clan of Altaan is most thankful for Jullien saving her son and gladly offers a haven for Jullien aka Dagger Ixur within the Tavali. But there are many, including Ushara's own family, who would prefer Dagger dead.

Jullien is the villain in previous books in the series so redeeming him was interesting to say the least. How can you redeem such a despicable creature? Well, Sherrilyn Kenyon did it! I fell madly in love with him. The story begins years before the last book ended so certain events take place that we read about before only from a different perspective. In fact, had I been smart, I should have done a quick review of the previous books to refresh my memory. Still, I remembered enough that it did not destroy my enjoyment of the book. But oh gosh, how long will I have to suffer until the next book comes out?

This is my first book review ever, but I seriously felt the need to write one since this book is AMAZINGLY BREATHTAKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly was looking forward to reading this book especially since Jullien has always been one of those characters I totally despised. Then BAM , I read the first chapter in this book and I'm a goner.

One important thing worth mentioning is that this is the first time I don't have a love-hate relationship with the female heroin. I love Ushara ,and I admire her faithfulness, loyalty, and ability to make good decisions.

!!!!!OMG THE SARCASM THOUGH!!!!!! I just cannot stress enough on Jullien's sarcasm and wits, he made me laugh so hard a lot of times. Also, his bantering with Trajen is HILARIOUS . I really wish Trajen gets to have his own book.

ON THE OTHER HAND, this book shattered my heart into a million tiny pieces most of the time. Oh and God only knows how many times I screamed, gasped, and stopped reading because I was terrified of what would happen. Reading this book also made me want to go hug Jullien and never let go because nobody deserves what he went through..

I love love love love love Jules and Shara's relationship; it is sooo sweet and beautiful. He is incredibly selfless and oh so loving with his daughters and sons.

Reading Born of Legend made me want to go back and read the previous books in this series just to get more glimpses on all the good deeds Jullien has done for his brother and his friends WHEN NONE OF US KNEW IT WAS HIM ALL ALONG.

I think I need to stop or I would be writing a whole book describing my reading experience, but I would much rather YOU GO READ IT AND ENJOY THE THRILL OF READING SUCH AN OUTSTANDING BOOK. Oh and just a heads up :) :) :) :) IT ENDS WITH A CLIFFHANGER * cries and screams out in agony *

I love this series and indeed think it's probably the authors best work so I'm always jumping up and down with eager anticipation for the next League book. Strong characters, amazing world building and oh such hot romance. Soooooo what about this one?
I was very surprised when I realised that the hero is Julian as he is one of the most hated and reviled characters in the series. The things he has done to his twin brother Nyk and others who were at school with him just begged belief and yet the author decided to redeem him. If you have read Styxx you might just be reminded of this trope. You see we are given a version of events as experienced by Julian and although admittedly he does have a mean, violent side there's also been so much manipulation from others . In fact his own family are just the nastiest, vilest creatures I've ever read about!
So here we have Julian going under the name of Dagger and what do you know he's not exactly the insane bad guy he was painted! Nope Julian is hurt , down on his luck and yet finds it in him to save a young stranger which leads to a whole new life but you just know this author likes to torture her heroes and yes it's all going to get very messy indeed .
Ushara is the woman who will stand by her man but it's a shame her family start to meddle because when they stick their collective noses in it things end pretty badly for Julian. Lucky he's used to being neglected and thrown to the wolves but Julian is a fighter and I did like that this couple would do anything to see the other safe and happy .
There are tender sweet moments I won't lie but at times I thought there were superfluous pages . It's complicated, lengthy and there's a wealth of information about Julian's family to digest but for this reader just wasn't as riveting as previous books. Although my biggest gripe has to be the brief mention of Nero. Come on its high time he got a book! Introduced in the first book when he saved Nyk and yet here we are at book 9 and I'm impatiently tapping my foot!

I am not going to go into an in depth blurb. I'm pretty sure if you have got this far you don't need one. If you are new to this series don't bother reading any further, this is a series you need to read in order, so check out my review of the first book instead Born of Night.

So back on track, Born of Legend tells the story of Julian. That's right our beloved Nykkirian's evil twin. Or supposedly evil twin. Maybe there is more to Julian's character than we originally thought, in this book we get to find out.

You can already see I have low balled this book, so I have decided to give it to you straight; I was bored out of my mind reading this book. I'm surprised I even finished it and it had me reconsidering following this series as much as I really love some of the earlier books. Born of Legend was dull and went along these lines:

Julian: Woe is me, everyone hates me and has tortured me in some way, even the guys who everyone loves, maybe I am evil.
Ushara: My poor Julian, I love Julian, his family are bastards.
Julian: I don't deserve happiness. Everyone was mean to me, my new friends are better off without me.
Ushara: My poor Julian, I love Julie, his family are bastards
Julian: I still don't deserve happiness, I think I will perform some stupid deed of self sacrifice.

*rinse and repeat for 500 pages*

It was driving me mad, it felt like I was reading the same twenty pages over and over and over and over and over again. Annoying right? And those twenty pages were of Julian reflecting on how much his family hate him and the horrible things they did, his love for Ushara, how he isn't good enough for her and finally his contemplation of doing some idiotic self sacrificing deed that, if it were anyone else, would kill them.

I realise that Kenyon has a certain style and enjoys inflicting sadistic torture on her heroes, it wouldn't be a Kenyon book without it, but I found this whole book intensely irritating, slow and repetitive and it was mainly because of Julian's character. I am trying desperately to find something I did like about this book, but I am struggling I felt like this was more of an endurance trial rather than an enjoyable read.

I'm still considering whether or not I will continue on with this series, at the moment I am inclined towards no, but I did really enjoy some of the earlier books. But maybe that's the problem, perhaps this series has gone on for too long, it's beginning to feel stagnant, especially as Kenyon's characters are basically all the same person, just crammed into a different body each time. With that being the case boredom was bound to set in at some time and Born of Legend appears to be my threshold.

I didn't care for it. The primary male character was ruined for me when the author continually and repetitively emphasized how his childhood and existence to date was worse than anyone else in the entire universe.

First let me say that I loved the gist of the story. I've read the entire series and am a big fan of Kenyon's writing.

That said, here are the reasons I gave Born of Legend 3 stars instead of 5:

* The story covers roughly fives years and the transitions are horrible. There are literally points where you stop and say "wait, what?" because time jumps - particularly the last third of the story.

* The editing is mediocre at best. There are sentences that stop you because they are so awkwardly written or a word is dropped. No excuse for this.

* Rather than repeatedly (and I mean over, and over, and over, and over again) saying who is married to whom and detailing every single family tree, put the family trees at the beginning so readers can go back and refer to them.

* A timeline would be helpful too as the action in this story dips into parts of other books and it's not clear from Page 1 that the story actually begins before the others ended.

Born of Legend is Book 9 in the amazing Sherrilyn Kenyon's League Series. In many ways it has leap frogged to the top of my favorite Kenyon Series. Maybe because it remains true to the beginning.. and maybe because it's just that good.

We all know you can't have a Kenyon hero without him having a tortured soul, it's just not possible. Each hero has to overcome some pretty nasty stuff. And on occasion (Styxx) he also has to overcome our preconceived notions. Yep, Sherrie manages to redeem the unredeemable. I bring that up because Born of Legend also redeems the unredeemable. Julian En Anatole.. And it was an amazing ride. This time, Sherrie gets it near perfect! In Styxx it was almost overkill and Zanax was definitely required and there were times when I hated Ash.. yeah not goo. But This time... It was less overkill and more emotional. More an adult who has to deal with the remnants of an abusive childhood, both physical and emotional. A child who was neglected, drugged and turned into the scapegoat of a nation. But Julian, AKA Dagger, rose above it all. Became the man he dreamed of being. Was he perfect? Nope...

We start Born of Legend when Julian was on his last hope, he was determined to die and he decided to do so by saving a child. That one action truly changed his life. Introduced him to the woman who became his "Darling Star" his guiding light, his very reason for being. And in turn helped him to overcome a dark and desperate past to be the man he dreamed of. But more than that, he became a true legend.

Ushara is Trivali, a race hammered together of outlaws with a code. She is the second in command and pretty much has it all. Has it all until her son is kidnapped and she is desperate to find him, to save him. What she finds is a stranger willing to give his life for her child. A Stranger broken in heart and body but still willing to save a child. How can Ushara NOT fall for this guy. As she begins to realize just who he is, she knows she should encourage him to move on, to start over somewhere else. I mean his family pretty much destroyed her entire race.. ooops. But she can't she keeps seeing the man behind the mask.

Ushara has the strength and fortitude that no one in Julian's life has ever had AND she believes in him. He is not perfect and he's most definitely a work in progress. That and he always puts the family that left him first. Kind of irksome but as I said, Julian evolves. He creates his own family. He becomes a hero, a legend to his new people. And when it comes time to save the family of his past he goes and faces those demons as well.

And there were some serious cheer moments.. Like when Mama dearest tries to claim him as her son and she is totally slapped down by the woman who has adopted him into her lineage.. Or when Thraix (a friend) wants to know where Julian gets his intelligence because it obviously wasn't from anyone in his side of the family. A total slap down.. Brilliantly done.

What I really enjoyed is that we don't have to hate Nykerian.. Julian did some pretty crappy stuff to him in the past but Nyk understands that there were circumstances.. BUT.. happily ever after? BFF's?

This was a story of redemption, personal redemption and finding your own place in the world. Not living up to or down to the expectations of others but living your own life. Your own dreams and becoming the person you want to be.

Just wonderful!

Great edition to the series, couldn't put it down. Kenyon has created such a vast universe with so many interesting characters who's stories weave together creating the vast and badass tapestry that is The League series. All the books build off one another in such a great way, making each one better than the last.

You can't help but draw parallels between Jullien and Styxx from The Dark-Hunter series. In both cases Kenyon did an amazing job of adding depth and perspective to two of some the most hated characters in their respective series.

Would like to end my review with my new favorite saying curtesy of Mira "I'm so confuzzled."

Wow!!!! I'm in love with The League series and I can't get enough.... I'm waiting for the next book to come out... Now that I've read Jullien's story I did feel sorry for him for what he went through as a child and as an adult but in the end he found happiness and a family that cares.... I can't wait for Bastien Cabarro's story

I don't know what to say. Kenyon does it again. This was a remarkable book. It was not large enough in my opinion. I wanted it more.

You would assume the book would start with when Jullien was just a child but it didn't. Rather we see glimpses of it and through Jullien's mind. From everything we learned from Born of Betrayal about him, Jullien is not someone who we thought he was but a different being. Running for his life after his grandmother put a Thrill-kill on him and exiled from his kingdom, he stumbled into a bar and saw this kid being sold to a sex slavery. Saving that kid was his last thing to do before he died from the wound he was sporting. But what he wasn't expecting was the kid's mother to descend on him with her ships and crew to get her child back but also saved the man who saved her child, Vasili. The kid took a liking to him immediately because of his humble action. From that moment on, we learned little to big things about Jullien's character and who he truly is. Misunderstood and abandoned since he was a child by his mother as his looks favored Edvard (his uncle who almost killed his mother) his mother abandoned him and hated him since he was an infant because of that. Jullien aka Dagger suffered in that palace as everyone treated him like a trash including his father, Aros. Hurt and threatened and drugged by his cousins, he made bad decisions through his childhood and been manipulated by them that his action were seen as a evil when all he did was protect everyone from his grandmother and his cousins. In the present where he live with the Tivali, we learned, Jullien has a dry humor and gentle heart and very loveable. The most hated man in the series became the most loved one in this book. Love how Ushara never betrayed or failed him and she always has his back no matter what. Jules made fast friends with the HAP, Trajen who is a powerful Trisani and younger brother of Nero. Jules became a closer with another Trisani, Thraix, who gave him the ability to connect his mind to his ship but that backfired as Jules got Jullien has been a living in a lie as he always thought he was an Anatole but he is not just an Anatole or darkheart but Jullien may have dropped his family name and left his past but his guilt to what he did to Nyk's Kiara still haunts him so when he learned about the threat to the Palace, he went with Thraix, Dimitri, Davel and Axl to rescue only Nyk's family but what he didn't expect was The Sentella's family to be there.

I love the ending. After he rescued everyone and everyone forgave him, Jullien moved on and he forgot about his mother and father who never been a mother or father to him. He completely and finally got them out of his mind. I was so proud of him for that as his biological parents do not deserve him. Thraix is a hoot and Mary is a bold, very funny woman who can make anyone blush and sputter with her choices of words. Happy to see Trajen having a best friend and a family. Trajen may have saved Jullien by allowing him to stay in his base but Jullien brought friendship and family into his somber life.

This book was much fun to read even though I bawled my eyes out every time Jules got hurt and also what he went through. It's such an amazing story. Met interesting characters who reappeared like Bastien, Jupiter, Chayden, Mack, they were fun to read. I hope we will hear from Bastien again soon as Jullien is worried about him. The League especially, Kyr is very mad at Tivali Nation and Nyk that he attacked Trajen's base. The war will not stop until Kyr is put down.

I can't wait to read the next book! I hope it's soon and fast as I had an amazing time reading this one.

I was surprisingly entertained by this doorstopper of a book, considering that its protagonist was the (formerly) evil, cowardly, repulsive Prince Julian, the evil twin brother of (still my favorite League hero) Nykyrian from Born of Night. Prior to this book, Julian was best known for trying to get Nyk horribly tortured as a child, having Nyk's soulmate Kiara kidnapped by a homicidal psycho, attempting to have another awesome good guy protagonist (Talyn from Born of Defiance) mutilated and murdered on a penal colony, etc etc. Suffice it to say, even with his surprisingly cool appearance at the end of Born of Betrayal, my interest in him as a protagonist approached zero Kelvin.

But hey, I am a sucker for Kenyon's space opera romance series, so I opted to give it a try. After what felt like about a million pages later (I did mention this book is massive. You can kill a burglar with it), I had to eat crow - I really really liked it.

Kenyon seems to have a thing for redeeming evil twins of noble heroes (first Styxx, and now here), but she carries it off surprisingly well. There are plenty of adventures, space pirates, make-outs, palace infiltrations etc. Julian 2.0 is quite fun in a typical Kenyon hero way (awful childhood for which he compensates through leather and guns) and his heroine is awesome.

This said, I really wish she'd let the bad guys stay bad. Or at least redeem them, and not do the whole 'he was a woobie all along' thing. It worked very well in Styxx but doesn't work quite so well here. Mainly because to turn Julian from a spoiled royal darling into some sort of alien Oliver Twist, she has to twist previous storylines like a pretzel (Okaaaaaay) and destroy a whole bunch of previously decent characters by turning them into monsters (not Okaaaaay).

Styxx worked for me in a 'evil nemesis was actually noble hero' way because, since the series is fantasy, Kenyon only had to turn the previously 'good sister to Ash' Ryssa into a total bitch to Styxx, which I didn't care for but could reluctantly buy. The rest could be explained away by gods' meddling and magic and drugs - the established narrative remained pretty intact. The League series is space opera so no gods meddling or magic can handwave things.

So, in order to justify Julian (and make him a typical "you do know people with that sort of upbringing do not turn into suffering saints but into incurable psychotics" Kenyon hero), Kenyon had to portray a lot of previously positive characters in ridiculous ways.

Did you know that Julian's parents weren't loving (though occasionally ill from grief) individuals but horrific abusers who should be on Court TV? We never got a hint of that from any of the past books but here it is...Especially egregious was the treatment of his mother who, for no reason given, adored Nyk and hated Julian. Whyyyy? They were both children of the dude she loved, and the whole 'Julian looked like an evil dead relative' just made me laugh, especially since Kenyon went overboard with the whole 'and she never even held him once' stuff OMGWTF. Nyk's aunt is also evil, and the awesome Galene (heroine of Born of Betrayal) is apparently a selfish, blind bitch. Did I mention that as a child, Nyk was apparently a Bad Seed? Oh, and Kiara was a mean girl in school.

Here's a hint - when you have to deform a lot of your previous characters to explain away one, maybe you should go with a different theory. I would have loved it if Julian was a horrible person who slowly reformed after being kicked out. Or if Nyk was a good brother as a kid and his Mom was fine until she lost one of her children after which she couldn't be anyone's mother. Etcetc.

But nah, if you did that, Julian wouldn't be the sufferingest League hero ever (well, almost ever. Nothing can ever beat Darling).

So ultimately, the book was a great adventure and I liked the OTP a lot, but in order to enjoy it, I had to pretend to forget the previous books very very hard, so a star is subtracted.

P.S. It looks like she's set to redeem Kyr. Oh God, no. He is not redeemable. At this point, I am just happy the dreadful Anatole cousins are dead or she'd try to redeem them as well. But, OTOH, the next book is about Bastien and I am dying for that one, so well done, after all!

P.P.S. I need a Nero book before I die of old age.

What an amazing story. I am always amazed how Sherrilyn Kenyon can take the most monstrous seeming character and turn everything around so they are then the hero. I now see Julian as my favorite character out of all the others. The way every single family member treated him since birth is just horrifying, but then to have to see them again after he was starting to heal just made me cringe throughout the book.

My favorite parts were his time with his Tavali family. Ushara is such an amazing woman to see past the mask he wears to protect himself and to see the intelligent and tender man beneath is such a beautiful thing. His ability to connect with children after having such a traumatic childhood is pretty wonderful too. It continued to shock me when he would show such wisdom and forgiveness with people and their stupidity. There are lots of surprises and thrills and I wish it didn't have to end.

Gosh, how much I love this series. The characters and worldbuilding are amazing and it keeps me going even if there are parts I don't like that much in it. (the unecessary amount of dramatic scenes and violence etc.)

This book is the example how a good plot and writing can make you like a character you hated basically in 8 and a half books. I never thought I would like Jules. Ever. And yet...

Please, now let us find more about the Trisani people and Nero. I'm waiting for his book for years now, and all these characters are very interesting but I want to know more about my broken baby.

Nice to be able to read a story about Jullien. He did not have the good life I thought he did. Glad he finally got his revenge against his grandmother. Also glad that his other family members were finally able to hear the truth. Hope he will be able to have a long and happy life with Ushara. Wonder when the war will start.

Can't wait to read Born of Vengeance!!!!

I think that the very first thing you need to know, before I get into all my thoughts and feelings about this book, is that this series is definitely one of my all time favourite series ever :) I love all those books and if were being honest, this particular installment, once I finished it, definitely jumped to my #1 favourite book in this series :) so am I really objective when I write this review? well, yes and no :) yes, because those are my honest thoughts about the book, but at the same time, I can acknowledge that because Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing style just really works for me, and I am a fan of her books, that usually mean that I may overlook some things, not intentionally, that might bother others :) so you can take it as you please, but I will still tell you all about how much I loved this book :)

All Sherrilyn's books can be technically read as standalones, even the ones in her series... you always get all the necessary informations to follow the plot and everything, but I highly recommend you guys to actually read them in order... that way you can really appreciate all the connections between characters... :) even if you don't remeber every little detail, it will still be better :) especially with this particular book... because the name of the main character, Dagger, is actually a pseudonym :) I can't tell you his real name, although if you are caught up with the series you know it :) but in case some of you are not, or are totally new to it, I won't spoil you that :) because let me tell you, when I heard who will be the hero of this book I was like: *WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?* ;) #TrueStory :) I had no idea how this will happen... and yet, once again, I should have just trusted Sherrilyn Kenyon to deliver a story that will hit me in all the feels :) but since a lot of stuff is very spoilerefic, writing this review will not be easy :) but I will do my best to convince you to give it a try without actually giving anything away :)

Let me start with a few words about the whole world this series is set in, in general :) see, this is one of the problems with writing review for a book in the middle of an on-going series :) I try my best to explain stuff to people who haven't read the books and yet not spend too much time on it so I won't bore the ones who are familiar with it to death :) so what I can say about this series in general, is that it's a mix of paranormal and sci-fi vibes :) it has many different planets and species in it, but I cannot even begin to get into all the connections between all of them :) what I can say, is don't be discouraged if that does not sound like something you usually read, because it took me months to convince my sister J to give them a try, and once she started, she inhaled all available books in record time :) it's a series full of action, surprising twists and turns, sarcastic humor, sizzling hot romance and swoonworthy characters :) it's one of my all time favourites for many, many reasons :)

Now about our main couple :) I can't really say too much about Dagger... if we're being honest, I pretty much can't say anything about him, because I refuse to spoiler you guys his identity... what I can share, is that I did not expect to care about him as much as I did... his story, once I was able to see it from his perspective... it broke my heart... the fact that he was still able to have a funny side or vulnerable one was amazing :) especially since it was sarcastic humor, which is my absolute favourite kind :) but as much as I adored him, I absolutely loved Ushara... oh she was such a bad-ass character :) strong, smart, ready to fight to the death for the ones she love... :) and very quickly that starts to include Dagger :) trust me, a furious Ushara is a stunning vision... :) I don't want to say too much about who she exactly is and what she is capable of, because damn... you have to experience it to truly appreciate it :) what I loved most about them as a couple, is that there is practically no drama between them in the book :) yes, there are horrible things happening, and yes, those things influence them, but they certainly don't break them apart... at least not for long :) it's one of the reasons why I love this book so much :)

Besides our main couple, there is also a bunch of phenomenal secondary characters :) and actually the majority of them are new, so you can witness firsthand all the connections they make with both Dagger and Ushara :) I don't want to name all of them, because the identitiy of a few and the importance of them to the story is revealed later in the book, but I have to mention Trajen :) he is like the big boss where Dagger is staying, and no, I can't explain more, because if I would start to describe all of it, we would be here all day :) so that super short explanation just have to be enough :) I can't wait to read a full lenght book about him, because seeing all those scenes with him only made me that much more curious :) there is a reason why he and Dagger understand each other so well :) besides him, I adored every scene with Ushara's sisters :) to be honest, I don't remember all of their names, because there are a few, but they were amazing :) and once they accepted Dagger they would fight for him almost as much as Ushara :) oh, and I almost forgot to mention Vasili, Ushara's son from her first marriage... the way he bonds with Dagger... I swear, some of those scenes were the ones that made me cry the most... :) again, there are sooooo much more people who play very important parts in this story, but I want to leave them as surprises for you guys to discover along the way... :) trust me, there are a lot of *aaaaawwwww* noises in your future once you start reading this book :)

Long story short, although I'm not sure if I can say it looking at the lenght of my review so far... ;) I absolutely loved this book :) and before I forget, I need to state something... and I need to do it publically, so there is no doubt about anything... :) J, you were absolutely right :) J is my sister who read this book months ago and kept telling me numerous times to get to it... and to show how long it actually took me to listen to her... there is a new installment in this series available already people... yes, I waited so long that there is an even newer book available... *sighs* I know, I know *hangs my head in shame* :) but I promised you J to say that you were right, and I am doing it right now :) she knew I would love it and as usual, she was right :) but moving on... ;) I really hope that I convinced you guys to give this amazing book, and this series overall, a try :) like I said, the writing style is fantastic... or maybe it just *clicks* for me... ;) it's full of interesting characters with many surprising layers... :) not to mention all the sarcastic banter and action... with so many little, and sometimes not so little, emotional and vulnerable scenes... :) I cannot say that enough times... this book was amazing, so do yourselves a favour, and pick it up :) you will not regret it :)

XOXO

Oh my goodness! 30 hour audiobook! I had forgotten that sherilyn Kenyon books, while great, have one problem. The longer the book, the more “woe is me” you’ll find. Angst, pain, suffering. Is the filler here. And if there were 30 different planets mentioned, I wouldn’t be surprised. But the heart of the story is that love conquers all and who doesn’t want to believe in that?

I read this while we moved to our new home and even with the interruptions and stress, I still kept going. AND it was super long - much longer than my usual read. The fact that I continued to be enthralled is a testament to Ms. Kenyon's writing and storytelling.

This was so unbelievably fantastic, I don't even know what to say. Jules has somehow become my absolute favorite character, with Trajen and Thraix tied for second place. <3 Everything in this book was so heart-wrenching and inspiring, and I really just loved every minute of it. Just to give some more weight to how much I adored this from the start, be aware of the fact that not only did I pre-order it months ago for my Nook, I put an alert on my phone for the release date, struggled to get through a day of work so I could go home and read it, and then spent the next 8 or 9 hours parked in front of my laptop, my gaze riveted to the pages. I'm pretty sure I forgot to even eat dinner. ;)

Basically...I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH. There are books series out there where every book that comes out next is somehow even better than the one before it, and The League series is one of those. Just when I think things can't be even more awesome, Sherri whips out another story to knock my socks off.

In short, this book is awesomeness incarnate and if you haven't read it yet, I would highly recommend it. So what are you waiting for? Go read it! Go, go!

When I found out who this story focused on, I about had a heart attack! The author does an amazing job of telling his story in such a way that we can’t help but love him as a Hero!

Dagger was an awesome hero, striving to be more than his past and do right by those he had harmed. I loved how Ushara accepted him through his current actions and not his past! The twists and turns that the story took was amazing, and the fact that Dagger had to save his birth family, but ended up not reconciling with them was very realistic and well done. There was a lot of his story that made me cry!

I also loved that Ushara was a strong heroine and able to see past the rumors of Dagger’s past. I also enjoyed the fact that she didn’t snub him for being different! Her family was also enjoyable to watch, for the most part!

All things considered, I really enjoyed the book. The repetitiveness of going over events from previous books was a bit old, and my largest complaint about it, but it wasn’t a major detraction from it either. This is one I would definitely recommend!
