There is one thing that is bothering me about the book. At the end of the book Nykyrian mentions that his son has a heart problem... but in Born of Ice it was Devyn who had a heart problem... so do they BOTH have heart problems? It's been awhile since I listened to Born in Ice so maybe I missed something....

Sherily Technically you can read as a standalone; but if you read the series in order, your feelings for these characters are more enhanced than just jumping …moreTechnically you can read as a standalone; but if you read the series in order, your feelings for these characters are more enhanced than just jumping into book 9 and not really understanding the true impact of these characters as they grow on you from book 1 going forward.
This is so far my most favorite, only because after reading from the beginning of the series, you develop your own opinions of each of the characters and look forward to their stories. Then when you read their story, your entire outlook and opinions may change because you gain more understanding and knowledge of the characters. (less)

Why do I feel like the Tavali Thia fell in love with is Vasili? I mean they have a lot in common and are around the same age and it could explain why Nykirian didn't approve of the relationship. Does anyone else have this feeling or is it just me?
