A cousin recommended The Red Dancer: The Life and Times of Mata Hari to me. What are your relatives recommending to you?

Laura | 144 comments My mother recommended -Wild-, which I'm using for the Oprah category. My stepmother sent me a book on being present, which I may use. My husband keeps pushing me to read -The Artist's Way-, which is likely what I'll wind up going for.

Mary Arkless | 153 comments My husband gave me "A Year in the Life of the Yorkshire Shepherdess", so I'm using that for this topic. Very pleasant read. She goes through the year month by month and tells stories from her entire farming life (not just one year) which relate to that month.

I went through much of The Artist's Way with my writers' group, but I dropped out when one of the frequent hosting members showed her true colors last November. I should give it another go.

So far I've read Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Pippi Longstocking (both recommended by my mother) and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (recommended by my brother).

Cindi Kelley (cheesygiraffe) My best friend who I consider a sister highly recommended You when I went to visit her in Louisville in October. So when we went book shopping I bought a secondhand copy. She did have a copy of the follow-up book Hidden Bodies and gave it to me. So I read them both last month.

I'm also counting The Big Orange Splot and Winnie-the-Pooh for this one, as it was my mother who first introduced me to both books.
