Tracey (trakka) | 1363 comments I finished Where Shadows Dance by C S Harris. I really, really want to enjoy this series but I have to say that it's not one of my favourites. Sorry, I know lots of you love it. I just can't put my finger on it. I will continue with the series but probably at a slowish pace.

I started The Overlook by Michael Connelly (book 15 in the Harry Bosch series).

Not an issue, Tracey! It clicks or it doesn't. There are lots of people who love Stephanie Plum and I barely made it through the first book. Don't force yourself to push through something you're not enjoying.

Now, if you said that about my man Harry...:)

While I enjoy the Bosch series overall, it has been rather hit and miss for me. That's just the way we are - different strokes for different folks :0)

There are only three books so far in the series so at least I'll be able to say I am current in another series. Plus, I just like Sully.

My plan was to read the books after the corresponding season. The first season covered books 1 and 2 but so far I've only gotten around to reading the first book. Season two ended not that long ago and covered books 3 and 4 so now I'm considerably behind. Story of my life with books, lol.

I asked the author on his FB page if there were going to be more books in the series. He responded that he was working on a new book but that it wasn't for the series so I'm going to call the series complete as a trilogy.

Now I'm reading The Devil's Door The Devil's Door (Catherine LeVendeur, #2) by Sharan Newman and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke .

I'm reading very slowly these days, Tracey, but I'm enjoying the book and the writing style. I initially chose it because Neil Gaiman raved about it and I love his work. That said, I can see where it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes. It has a Georgian-esque setting and the more formal sounding writing style matches it perfectly. It's not a hugely action oriented book but, as Gaiman said, I find myself "wandering through the words". The main story has a lot of footnotes which, in their own way, are almost a complete side story of it's own.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 4036 comments I'm sure the romance will take off in the next books in the series. I generally prefer more romance with my suspense, but Kendra Elliot is a great author and the slow simmer romance is working. Since A Merciful Death (Mercy Kilpatrick, #1) by Kendra Elliot publishes today I need to finish my review and post it.
