I missed your post earlier. . You've got so much going on, I hope you can find some way to get your mind to relax. Sending calm thoughts your way.

But I don't know anything about them. I researched it too, several years ago, but we never got one. Not sure whether that had to do with the care they need.

I think they are so cute. I love the way they look like they're smiling. :)

Has Goodreads been slow for anyone lately? I though it might just be my computer, but it's slow on my app today too. Super slow.

Sounds yummy! And I have spiced rum. Just need the banana liquor. And the bananas.

Kristie, sounds like you had a pretty restless and stressful night! There is nothing worse than worrying about a pet. Hopefully she will behave herself tonight and you can catch up on your sleep.

It's not been slow for me but I did have trouble logging on earlier. I kept getting the "over capacity" message.

I had to look up Axolotls to make sure I was remembering the right thing and I was! You made me curious how hard they were to keep so I found this: http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/Care-... and it sounds like they aren't too difficult. Have you thought about names if/when you get one?

Thanks for the link, KimeyDiann. Yes, they do sound fairly easy to care for :) As far as names go, I don't have any particular ones in mind but seeing as they come from Mexico and South America, I will probably go for a Spanish name.

Maybe the issue was just over capacity then. Who knows. Seems to be ok right now, at least it is on the app.

I forget to respond to your post KD. Sounds like a rough time, I hope things will be better soon!

Ahh, okay. I must have read or remembered it wrong. Mind you, if he wrote that review back in 2012, you would still think he would have finished it by now, 5 years later. I hope we don't have to wait too much longer!

I think it's strange that there is a page count listed before the book is ready. Anyone know if that means anything? I mean, how can you know how many pages your book will be if it isn't done?

Enjoy your weekend Sarah! I made an appointment with a hairdresser today for May 23, to make something decent out of what will be left from my hair.
I just got an email that I can start language coaching again. I had to stop for a while because work was too busy, and from the end of February I had time again but it took some time to find a right match. I'm now paired up with a woman from Eritrea, 1 year younger than me. I'm excited!

I always find the Dutch quite expensive too, but they're cheaper than UK I think.

Great that you are able to start language conversation skills again Peggy. I saw something about that here the other day, and thought of you, and that I should investigate further.

Rusalka, thanks for clarifying pants. :) I thought I read that wrong at first.
Sarah, what's a hen party? Is it like a bachelorette party?
Peggy, that's exciting! I have a childhood friend who was doing language coaching. She's about to have her first child, so I think she's decided to stop for awhile.
Rothfuss - I just read the first 2 books last year after a friend recommended them. I didn't realize when I started reading that the 3rd book hasn't been released yet! Although, there was so much detail to the story, I probably should read the books again. I'm sure I missed things or didn't fully understand some things.

Exactly. Here in Aus we call them Hens (bachelorette) or Bucks (bachelor) nights. I think the UK is pretty similar.

Pretty sure BT is a private company now. Well, I'm pretty sure it is anyway. They are awful. Although I've had issues with most phone/internet providers over the years. Everything here has been privatised. Trains. Buses. Post services. And the prices all went up and you don't get a better service.

As Rusalka says. We call it Stag rather than Buck.

Hair and eyebrows now under control :-) I also found a couple bargains in the charity shop which I might wear on the hen do. One dress which has the words of the sound effects that you get in comic books like Batman (Kapow, and Zap etc) all over it in black and white. I love it. So I'm all ready to go.
Thanks Rusalka for clarifying the meaning of pants for people. Seems I've highlighted a few words today that are not widely used or at least show the differences between English speaking countries. You learn a lot in YLTO ;-)

Here, we call them Stags or Stagettes.

"
Of course! I couldn't remember if that was American or British.

Enjoy your wee..."
Pants lol It's a very british comment (and apparently Aus)! I haven't heard it since I lived in the UK. It's a more polite than knickers ;-p

On that subject, living in the Bible-Belt (Southern USA), most people keep their cussing to a minimum, depending on who they are around. Not everyone of course, but it is considered poor manners to cuss in public, especially if ladies or children are around (ha! I know some "ladies" that cuss worse than rum soaked sailors!). Anyway, because of this culture, some people come up with interesting alternative cuss words. I heard a good one the other day. A vendor was in our office and looking something up on his computer when he suddenly exclaimed "Mother-in-law!" We were confused until he explained that, no, he wasn't mad at his M-I-L, that is just what he says when something messes up.

Here, we call them Stags or Stagettes."
Bachelor or Bachelorette Parties in the States.

Ditto, Laura. The only trains we have in my little corner are the big freighters that are passing through.

@ Sara, hope you have a great time at the party this weekend! Nice score on the dress, too!
I know there are several here that have kids, so Happy Mother's Day to all of you! (Even if Mother's Day isn't celebrated this weekend where you are)

TJ, disgusting! :)"
The windows were all the way down. And I'm still on a boil water advisory, so I was really looking forward to spending the day with my friend and having a shower. My car wouldn't start - the door must not have closed all the way and the interior light was probably on all night. At least my friend's husband has a battery pack thingy so she'll bring it by tomorrow. Now we'll get together Friday. Thank goodness because I have our drinks already planned - Bananas Foster :)
