R14: Team #6 ~ Hex Breakers

Great choice!!! I'm dying to read book #3but it fits lots of shelves so hopefully I can read it next week. :)
I don't know what to read in the meantime...maybe I should do the same as I did with the Innkeeper series...re-read the first in one of those series I started a while back and then catch up with the rest. Two good choices are

Awesome, Megan!!!

Wow! This book had me on a roller coaster of emotions. I was so happy that Rose was getting better at controlling her impetuousness and that everything was just going so well...I should've known it wouldn't last. That ending was shocking and I can't wait to read the next one, even though I'm really sad at the moment.

Shelf #6: Mythology

Review:
This was an enjoyable story, but nothing that spectacular. I would've enjoyed more details about her early life as a siren. The ending seemed to easy, but I liked that it ended the way it did. All in all, it's a nice story if you're looking for a light read.

Book: Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews

Review:
Very good beginning to a new series. Very strong character and world building. She hasn't really shown it yet but I know Dina has some hidden bad ass in her.
I love the chemistry and banter between Dina and Sean. I'm not sure about Arland but I'm looking forward to seeing if he and Dina develop a deeper connection. I think "House" is amazing and can't wait to learn more.
I love Ilona and Gordon Andrews. They create such wonderful stories and they are on my auto-buy list. They couldn't have picked a better narrator than Renée Raudman. Definitely continuing the series and highly recommend it.

I hope I didn't jinx it and we don't get steampunk or the other few shelves that book isn't in!

I'll read

I've also been meaning to share an easier way to figure out if a book is on a particular shelf instead of wading through dozens of pages individually. :)

Shelf #7: Futuristic
Date finished/Rating: 3/4 ★★★★
The plot of this book was a bit out there but I really liked the hero, the heroine and their relationship. You know how most heroes are so similar they are almost indistinct but this guy had a distinctive trait that will make him stand out in my mind - he was super curious. He was always asking questions and that made him really good at his job.
He was tough and super smart but also low key and reasonable. Sometimes he would act protective but she would explain why she should do this or that and he would see reason. Both of them were really good investigators and they put two and two together fairly quickly once they had the pieces of the puzzle. They never got caught with their pants down!
I also loved the end. One of them had to give up something dear but it made so much sense.

Book: Ceremony in Death by J.D. Robb
Date Read: 3/5/17
Rating: ★★★★★
Review:
I can't get enough of this series. It is so hard for me to write a review on these books because all that comes to mind is "I love it, love it, love it" and "God, I need a 'Roarke' in my life".
Ceremony in Death takes us in a different direction than I expected. We are introduced to the darker side of religion. I don't know how much was actually true but with the evil rituals and human sacrifices it made for a really great story.
I'm not sure if I could handle Eve without Roarke. He always brings her back down to earth when she goes off-kilter and God knows she had some real bitch moments this time around. Peabody has really grown in her character. She is much better suited as Eve's BFF than Mavis is. Mavis just gets on my nerves.
I read it in 2 days - full of excitement and action. Can't wait to read the next one.

Week 7 Shelf: Futuristic

Book: Reunion in Death by J.D. Robb
Read: 3/5<
Rating: 4-stars
Review: Like Kim, I have been devouring this series! Each of the books, I've enjoyed learning more about the characters. This book introduced Peabody's parents which really entertained me. Ha! And Peabody got to prove herself as she was tasked to work a cold case ~ complete with interviewing the suspect. This book showed a more vulnerable side of Eve Dallas which always endears her more to me, as they touched on her childhood trauma. The mystery, itself, was a good one this time too as it touched close to Eve and Roark which made it very intense and hard to put down. I can't wait until the next book in this series works for a challenge!

Review: I ended up enjoying the second book in this series but it took me awhile to warm up to the characters. I think I enjoyed the first book so much, I was sort of bummed this one focused on a new couple. However, I did end up connecting with the male/female mc's and ended up flying through the last half. Both Kori and Ian were likable and, of course, came into the story with their own baggage. I appreciated that, although there were a few necessary secrets that had to be kept, there wasn't a lot of unnecessary lack of communications and assumptions that drive me crazy in books. I'll definitely move on to the next book in the series.

I've only read the KC one, which I thought was fine. I'm not very fond of all the new people she's introducing.

I loved that one!!!

I'm in Chapter 6 where Jo and Run have just met for the first time - and she's turned down his offer of unimaginable pleasures - how dare she??? LOL.
So far it's pretty good.
