I am! I recently joined A Million More Pages and they're starting team bingo this Friday. Looks like they do team challenges pretty often, I'm excited!! I need to check out their other group (Game Night) soon.

Kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 206 comments Check out Nothing But Reading Challenges, Stress Free Reading Challenges, and Perks of Being a Book Addict too :) Not that I'm enabling you or anything you know--- just being helpful! :D

Kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 206 comments You should definitely join NBRC. We have regular team challenges lol.

I actually am a member of NBRC! My first team challenge was there. It was team battleship but I haven't tried any of their other ones. I never seem to catch them until everyone is in the middle of a game.
I'll be sure to check out the other groups asap. Thanks, enabler! ;D

Shelf #2: Paranormal Romance
Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson
Book: Lord of the Fading Lands
Date Completed: Jan 31
Rating: 5 stars
REVIEW:

This book is more Fantasy Romance than Paranormal Romance, but I get why this is thought of as Paranormal Romance too.

Loved this book this time too. The villains of the series, The Mages, are so awesome. Or awesomely bad. Scary, evil people.

"The Eld work in subtleties until they consolidate their base of power. They sow doubts, disagreements, suspicions, fears-the kinds of things that can be explained away. They play on mortal weakness and self-indulgence. And through those small, steady corruptions, they begin to claim souls."

There was a sense of scary evil lurking in the background of the book. The Eld Mages use sneaky, Machiavellian machinations to get people to do what they want.

"The world was full of useful tools; the trick was cultivating the right ones... and carefully encouraging them to usher in their own destruction."

I liked both the MCs too. Rain and Ellie were pretty interesting characters. The other supporting characters were pretty interesting too.

Yes, there is a soul bond in this book. But though Rain and Ellie get to know of it, their relationship grows slowly from being complete strangers to star-crossed lovers... Well, they haven't quite reached that stage of their relationship yet at the end of this book, but it is only a matter of time. This is how you write romance, people!

While the romance is great, the fantasy aspect is brilliant too. The Fae, the Tairens, the Tairen Soul, the magic system, the weaves, the politics and danger, the feyan language system all makes it a brilliant story.

Must read for all fantasy romance lovers.

Ohhh so tempting... I think I'm going to try and resist as much as I really, really want to join. Some of AMMP's bingo categories are really difficult for me so I don't want to overextend myself and let others down. Thank you so much though! I will probably follow along that way I can be all over it next time.

Kaity | 743 comments Storm's Heart (Elder Races, #2) by Thea Harrison
Book - Storm's Heart by Thea Harrison
Shelf - Paranormal Romance
How it Fits - shelved by 548 people as paranormal romance
Pages - 305 pages
Date Read - February 1
Rating - 4 stars
Review - This was a reread for me. I 'abandoned' this series a while back because of this book. Not because it's bad! Because it isn't. It's just really, really disappointing after experiencing how amazing the first in the series is. I had originally read the books back to back and was sooo sad. First in a series aren't usually the strongest books but Dragon Bound is wonderful.
This time I could appreciate Storm's Heart for what it was, an enjoyable fun story. It still lacks the magic of the first book especially when it comes to its characters but is it even possible for the author to top Dragos and Pia?!
I will definitely be continuing on with the series this time!

@Laura: Take your time . No worries:)

@Kait: I've read the first 4 books of the Elder races series and loved them all. Book 5 has been sitting on my TBR for a long time. No idea why.

I'm so glad you gave Storm's Heart another chance. I know the feeling though. Sometimes, after reading the amazing first books, second books do tend to disappoint. Which is why, I never read any book in any series back to back!

:D Glad to hear you enjoyed 3 and 4. I will definitely be spacing them out though. I never read books back to back these days. I used to go through a whole series at once but I found myself forgetting a lot when I returned to the series after another book came out (names and who's who especially) and all the books would run together. Now, AT MOST, I read about 3 from the same series a year spaced out.

Enjoy Stars or Fortune! :) I prefer her books under JD Robb (oh Roarke <333) but have enjoyed several under Nora Roberts as well.

I love the style she wrights and the back stories of the characters are always interesting as well. Also there is always some drama mixed with the romance. Highly recommend if you like historical romances :)

:D Sounds like I need to give her a try! I enjoy most historical romance I read. My favorite is a toss up between anything Tessa Dare has written and Jennifer Ashley's Mackenzies & McBrides series.

Book - The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston
Shelf - Guilty Pleasures
How it Fits - shelved by 5 people as guilty pleasures

Rating - 4 stars
Review - What an odd first book in a series! The Mane Event was made up of two novellas, one of which was holiday themed. I loved Christmas Pride! Mace has loved Dez since they were kids and is finally back in town to catch her. Super sweet story. I really wish this had been a full length novel. The action story line wasn't well fleshed out and could have been great. I would also have liked to see a little more conclusion to Mace and Dez's relationship.
I didn't love Shaw's Tail, the second novella, as much as the first but still enjoyed it. There were a few little things that bothered me but weren't made a big deal of in the story. They were things that normally would have made me toss the book aside but were very small blips in the story and weren't used for drama or angst. My biggest issue was that Shaw had been a 'breeding' male, meaning he'd been used to knock up some of the Llewellyn pride women (consensual). Icky and not what I want in a romance. Otherwise, Shaw was a great character and I loved how in your face and wild Ronnie Lee was. They made a great couple.

Thoughts:
Even though it has been quite sometime when I last read the third book in the series, being reacquainted with the gang wasn't too hard. And so the adventures of Lady Maccon continues!

I didn't like this as much as the other series as I found Alexia to be a bit forbearing here. I understand that she is pregnant thus the hormonal imbalance and all but my goodness! She is much a handful here. Many times while reading the book I was internally screaming "you're pregnant for goodness sake!" But she still continued on with her normal aplomb for adventure despite her pregnancy. Which makes her qualified as the craziest mom ever. What mother in her right mind would endanger her baby? She's too full of herself sometimes. *breathes deeply* Okay, rant over.

Disregarding all of that, it was nice to see more of the vampires in this book because in previous books we always met them as culprits or villains to our MCs. It was nice to be able to enter their hive this time around and read of their vulnerability and more of how they function.

The twist at the end boggles me. How did that came to be?

Lala | 1065 comments The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) by Richelle Mead
Shelf: Paranormal Romance
Book: The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
Date read: 06.02.17
Rating: **
Review:
I remember liking the first book, but this one wasn't that good. The story was weak and the so called smart main character is socially total dummy. Most of the book was total waste of time. There wasn't anything building up and the hints something is going to happen where so noticeable and there where no exciting twists in the story. If you haven't started the series, don't. You will not miss anything.

Hi ladies! I've been away for the weekend. I returned home just today. I'm almost three-quarters of the way through my book, so I'll be done by tomorrow.

I'll most likely be changing my Free Space book. I'm so behind on some other challenges in other groups, so I'll probably read something that fits other challenges. I'll let you all know what my new free space book is.

I've also requested our Paranormal Romance stamp. Yay!

Oh, and also, if you are going to change your book, please let me know so that I can update the main tracking post accordingly.

I think that's the series I've heard the most about, the covers look the most familiar to me.

I finally made a new shelf for these books O.o My tbr is still next in series or books for authors I've read but I've got a shiny, new 'maybe to read' shelf of recommendations here and random books I've seen on my feed. I wonder how long it will take before it reaches over 1000 books... :P

Holy moley! That is quite the library! I had to stop buying paper books because I ran out of space and couldn't make myself part with any of them, and it annoys me that ebooks have such strict lending rules (or can't be loaned at all) so I don't buy a lot of them. I'm lucky to have a decent public library.

I resisted for over 3 years! This group is a terrible influence ;P
