ETA -- funny, I just noticed the first book and last book I posted are by the same author.

I have read the first two, although I admit I'm a bit fuzzy on the second so I'll try find a quick summary before I start. I really like them and I want to see how it ends. I was looking at a few other books, but they would be the first in a series and I figured I should finish one instead.
I've heard good things about the RPO audio. I only read it, but I've listened to other books read by Wil Wheaton. I enjoyed it, but I had some issues which I think I went into when I reviewed it. From the reviews I've seen for Armada it sounds like the parts that bugged me would be worse, so I think I'll pass.
I am interested in seeing the RPO movie, just to see how they adapt it with all the different rights they would have to get. And I really want to know how they do Aech. The character hasn't been cast yet.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince

I'm really enjoying this series. The heroes are so awesome and the heroines are strong, but not stupid which is always nice. I do wish that the characters weren't so set on there being a "big misunderstanding" one of my least favorite plot devices ever...and also that the characters weren't so determined to turn a blind eye to others character.

Book: Lirael
Date Read: 3/2
Rating: 4/5
Review:
Lirael returns to the Old Kingdom years after Sabriel concluded. It was a bit slow to start, but I did enjoy it. I will need to pick up the next book soon, as this one continues over to it while Sabriel can stand alone.
Lirael was a fun protagonist and I look forward to reading more about her and the Disreputable Dog :)

Archangel's Storm

For me this was a good, but not great addition to this series. I had high hopes since I had previously enjoyed Archangel's Blade which was the first book that had different MCs than Raphael and Elena. Sadly, I don't think that Jason got the book he should have. Mahiya could have been an amazing heroine, but she was overshadowed by Neha and (view spoiler) .

My excuse for getting behind is the new Zelda game. I'm having way too much fun playing it. I should finish MaddAddam today though, I'm listening to the audiobook as I work.

A note on the shelf call:
Due to short lists we've included both. Please remember to check that your book has at least 200 pages, as there are quite a few short ones on these lists.

Book: MaddAddam
Date Read: 3/9
Rating: 3/5
Review:
I'm glad I finally finished the series. I think the first one was my favorite of the three. I enjoyed parts of the second, and the third did drag for a while in the middle. The ending did pick up and it almost got 3.5 stars from me. I still have some questions, but overall this book did tie up and bring together most of the storylines.
I believe this was put into production for tv and has been on hold. If the adaptation of handmaid's tale does well, I can see this series following shortly. I would watch.

Week: 6
Book: A Local Habitation
Date Read: 3/9
Rating: 4/5

I have owned this book for years and felt guilty about not reading it and not getting back to the series. Bingo brought me back to this series. I am so thankful!
I love this world, very interesting - trying to see if #3 fits on to another shelf.

I am changing my snarky book to An Artificial Night

Book: Touch of Frost- Jennifer Estep
Shelf: Mythology
How it fits: on page 1 of the shelf

Gwen has the power of psychometry- she can see emotions and background of objects and people when she touches them. When her mom is killed in a car accident, she is transferred to Mythos Academy, a school composed of the descendants of Valkyries, Amazons, Spartans and gods. She doesn't understand why she is there. But when one of the students is killed during an apparent robbery, she decides to try to find out why. I enjoyed her journey in accepting why she belongs at Mythos Academy, her developing friendships and even the potential romance. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Week: 8
Book: An Artificial Night
Date Read: 3/12
Rating: 4/5

This book really expands the world building. I enjoyed it and I enjoyed learning more about October's world. I am very excited for lots more books in this series!

I always enjoy Jill Shalvis books. Always. This was no exception and, as usual, I found myself really liking the MCs and all the supporting characters. This one had a bit too much I want him/her, but I'm going to torture myself instead of actually doing something about it. All the same, the book was good. :)

I don't like the Kane/Egyptian series as much. His portrayal of Anubis in particular does not work for me, but I have one book to go and I do want to finish.
