Well, I'm only judging that by the look of the blurb and by the idea that she's a high schooler - ala Inuyasha. Yona is all set in a fantasy world of the medieval past, so it brings a more dramatic, adult-like feel than a lot of typical teen anime. Plus, the major upsetting incident of that first episode. I was in shock-land after that for about 3 episodes. lol

Awww. That's kitty bliss right there!

Here's mine. hehe. His name is Pan, or Pannie... or Pannie McPan, or Pannie in his Pannie Pants. lol

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Oh, what a lovely kitty! That one looks like my current kitty (the gray one before is gone now.) Brown tabby. I miss my gray. He was a good boy.

They do like to snuggle up with our works, don't they. Maybe they can feel the emotion we put into them, maybe that's warm.

As for the Anime... I hadn't seen Fushigi in many years. It is a high school student crossing worlds, though. I think I even read the manga, but... it's been Years!!!

I don't trust it. My Pan looks like an adorable angel, but is really evil incarnate. ;)

That face though... those eyes! It forces me to continue to serve him. EVIL!

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Oh, what a handsome one. I need to upload pics of my tabby now. She's a chubby, and meows a lot for food, but I think that's a tabby thing. Does your tabby do that?

Yes. He. Never. Shuts. Up. lol

He acts like we never feed him. And his meow sounds like the red alert from Star Trek. Not even joking. Why does he have to be so cute?! It's torture. ;)

message 208: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments @Lyra, that is just like my cat. I really think it's the breed. Need a meow reducer. Mine meows to wake me at 4, I spray her with a squirt bottle and curse her name. Later, she's napping and adorable. Damned cats.

@Alex, Your food is obviously more tasty. That is funny... maybe she thinks you're an easier mark.

message 209: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Tough love. She has a thing for people who push her away. That's my new theory.

message 210: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments My cat last night was evil. Woke me up at 3:40 to be petted. I, of course, couldn't go to sleep with a purring at in my face. I scruff and chucked her several times, and the cat came back. So, when it was time for me to actually get up at 5 am and do my morning writing... I fell asleep on the couch. Damn.

So, no productivity today.

Anyone need a cat?

message 211: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments :) Thanks Alex. You're a pal. And I don't really want to get rid of Mellifluous... but.... yeah. I would like to sleep.

message 212: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Thank you! It just... happened.

Lyra Shanti (lyrashanti) | 533 comments Great interview, Nat!! And I shared.

I have GOT to find time to read your books! We share so many things in common in our book series and genre!

Also, love your cat's name. Do you call it Melli for short? ;)

I finally got around to read your interview, Nat. Great job. Especially the first question. I like the way you built up the suspense until you got to the actual answer. It helped get to know you much better than if you'd had gone straight to the point.
Shared!

OOh, thank you! She is Melli and sometimes she's Shithead. :)

I know, I am excited about your book too!! I love the whole mythology concept and the Egyptian bits. I'm actually keen on Egypt.

Haha! Shithead works for most cats. ;)

I'm keen on Egypt too! All myths, really, but especially Egypt! :D *high Egypt five!*

message 224: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) I have literally never known a cat who wasn't known by the alternate name of shithead.

message 225: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments :) Cats are like that. They are cute and sweet and cuddle... and then... shithead. But they certainly have personality.

message 226: by Nat (last edited May 15, 2017 04:39PM) (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments I feel like I've been wasting months trying to 'feel' ready to be productive.

Time to pull out... the scheduler.

Now, I've got it mapped out, by week, how many chapters I WILL do. I just need to focus and walk the forced march on the second draft plot edit. I can fluff it up a bit later and make the words all pretty.

Cheers to everyone struggling with productivity. My current self-advice... I can't wait to be in the mood.

message 227: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments I'm hoping so. It's been really frustrating for me. I worked hard all Nov, Dec, Jan and then... slump. I'm really excelling at my Civ V gaming skills, though.

message 228: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments I did like Civ IV better, but I think there are things about Civ V that work better. I do miss some of the other Great Wonders though.

I still need to finish Shadow of Mordor and Skyrim. Both I like, but I hate finishing things. You never finish Civ.

message 229: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Oh, I feel ya, Nat. I have a condition I call summer brain and it's come early this year. I'm trying to be productive, but... Ugh.

message 230: by Lyra (last edited May 15, 2017 09:34PM) (new)

Lyra Shanti (lyrashanti) | 533 comments Christina wrote: "Oh, I feel ya, Nat. I have a condition I call summer brain and it's come early this year. I'm trying to be productive, but... Ugh."

I used to have that condition. Somewhere along the way, I got annoyed with myself, and I started pushing myself to write/edit/storyboard, even when I feel flakey.

I try to take breaks though; that's the key, I think. But I always come back to it. I'll do something fun or stupid, like a game or movie, and then I'll come back and MAKE myself do author stuff, no matter what. And sometimes, I take a day or two to do nothing. But I come back to it. Even if it's just just a paragraph or two, it's a step forward!

message 231: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Christina, oh yes. Summer brain. When the weather finally clears, I expect to be out hiking and camping. But it's pouring again.

I wish every month could be as productive as NaNoWriMo for me.

message 232: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments @Lyra, that's the plan. Make myself do it. I was once quite good at this forced marchyness, but lately... Actually, the last few years I've been in a slump. Been writing too long?

message 233: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments @Alex, you can be like Lyra and treat it like a little prize you get for writing some. Or just set the games aside... Do Not Feel Guilty about not finishing a game... IMHO.

I usually spend some time every weekend gaming in some way. It's relaxing for me, but it does take away from writing time.

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments OK, update!

I finished chapter 12. I took my laptop to my bedroom and sat there with NO internet and just edited till the end of the chapter.

I feel a bit spiffy right now.

Only chapter 13! Hopefully have that done by the end of the week. Two chapters a week is my goal.

CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it means I'm getting my OCD under control. Some games still have me in a vice-like grip, though, Just Cause 2 is the current one, I've played it before, a number of times, but each time I go back to it I have to complete it and get everything that can achieved."

I can fall into OCD (not clinically, but just an obsession) that I tell myself is better than drug addiction, but it usually involves a fandom of some sort.

I'm must better at ending things I'm not into. I just DNFed a book everything loved... but not me. So, before I would have forced myself to eventually finish. The games, I do want to finish, but I don't want them to be over. Make sense?

Never heard of that game. Addictive, you say?

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments I count things. In the back of my mind, stair steps, seconds if I'm waiting, blinker blinks... crazy.

I used to be very numbers orientated. I blamed it on the fact that I'm a Virgo Rising, but I seem to be less worried about that lately. Which means I'm a bit more of a slacker, which isn't good either.

Glad you're improving. Added extra stress usually isn't beneficial.

Take care of you!

message 240: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Well, this week I'm hoping to stick with my 'plan' and be good and hopefully it will be easier next week.

message 241: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments I've been quiet here, so I hope you didn't forget about me!

Anyway, if you did forget about me, I've a great opportunity for you to get to know me better. I'm going to be taking up some air time at the Facebook event for the SIA Title Wave promo event. Check out the awesome books and come and meet the spectacular authors!

I'm chatting July 1, 8:30 am EST (which is 5:30 am PST... so you can just come and mock my incoherency). Great chance to come and babble and have some stupid fun.

https://www.facebook.com/events/15679...

See you Saturday!

message 242: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Ah, thanks, Alex!!! :) I don't feel quite the thin ghost anymore.

It should be fun. I'm hoping anyway! I don't do facebook too often, but I wanted to help promote and be involved and try this facebook event thingy out.

I'll just throw coffee at the computer screen and hope that takes c are of everything.

message 243: by Nat (new)

............

Butt Week is just peeking around the corner! Aug 20th - 26th and I just wanted to say hi!

Also, here is a Thunderclap - Shameless Butt Plug.

message 249: by JAKe (new)

JAKe Hatmacher (jakehatmacher) | 38 comments What is Butt Week and what is Thunderclap?

message 250: by Nat (new)

Nat Kennedy | 614 comments Butt Week is a promo mainly aimed at gay characters, erotica, or other butt related works. CB Archer is the man to talk to if you want in on the promo.

A Thunderclap is a tool promos use to get the word out. You sign up your facebook, twitter or tumblr (I think it's tumblr) to post an advertisement on one day. It's a one time post. You can follow the link to get an idea of how it works without signing up.
