I don't know. Before the party, during the party, at the dare.
Luca couldn't believe he let Cooper drag him to this party, he could have stayed home and studied with his dog, but nooo, Cooper just had to go and beg Luca, and use that one damn face that throws Luca over the edge. Luca grumbled as he drank his beer, glad that there wasn't a lot of beer in the cup, he looked around and then was suddenly dragged to a crowd of people in the living room. He glanced around and looked for Cooper, a girl leaned close to him and told him they were playing Dare or Double Dare, a game that left Luca fearing for his life.
Coop was quiet. He tended to not say much around people unless the one person was Luca. Yet he didn't mind being in this sort of environment for the most part. He watched and listened, danced only a little and drank barely at all. Somehow he'd risen to popularity but he was quite sure how. He'd dated a girl or two here or there and it wasn't as if he was a football player. Soccer yeah but no one cared about soccer like they did football. The party had dwindled down quite a bit. Now it was a smaller group of just the stragglers and he found himself in a game of dare and well, there was no such thing as truth here. He caught Luca's eyes and pat the spot next to him on the ground where he sat criss cross. He pat Luca's back in comfort and watched as names were passed around and dares thrown out. There was a lot of kissing. Enough that he lost interest quite quickly. His blue eyes had met the wall, blankly staring until he heard his name. "Uh just regular dare," he'd said quietly.
I dare you to kiss Luca.
The words resonated in his head. He looked to Luca and raised a brow, almost as if asking if it was okay. Cooper's blue orbs fell to Luca's lips. It wouldn't be so bad to kiss Luca. Cooper was bisexual so kissing a guy wasn't a problem. He'd never done it simply because he hadn't found a guy that likes guys that there was a mutual attraction between them.
Luca just stared around until his eyes landed on Cooper, he came over to the boy when said boy patted the spot next to him, Luca sat on his knees next to Cooper, occasionally burying his face into his friends shoulder during the kissing dares that were going on, it was really sickening really how much PDA could be shown at one simple party. Luca grimaced at the thought and decided to pay attention to other people, up until he heard Cooper's name, he turned to the guy who spoke and heard the dare, his eyes go wide and he looked at Cooper, he saw his friends eyes look to his lips and that sent butterflies to his stomach, perhaps this was his chance to show Cooper just how much he liked him, or perhaps it was just a kiss. " You don't have to do the dare if you don't want to Coop, I'll kick their asses if they try to make you," Luca whispered sweetly to his friend, a small smile on his face.
Cooper found himself smirking. "Really you're going to kick their asses? I'll do you a favor and lay one on you," he spoke softly in return. He couldn't even imagine Luca trying to fight all of the people in the room even if he was joking. "You almost make me think you don't want me to kiss you. Am I that repulsive?" he questioned further with a certain playfulness to his tone.Someone said something about getting on with it so Coop didn't waste anymore time. He grabbed Luca's cheeks and kissed him at first tentatively but then let his lips work against Luca's hard, hungrily almost. He felt as if something in him had changed from a not caring to something more needy.
But quickly when he realized this he knew he needed to pull away. His hungry lips drug out the kiss for a bit longer, finishing finally when he pulled away after getting close to enough of what he wanted. He knew now after that kiss he needed to play it off. He winked, being more playful before directing his attention back to the group and daring someone else to do something. He couldn't get his thoughts in order.
Luca frowned that baby cute frown and then watched Cooper again closely, watching his every move, he bit his lip when Cooper said he'd lay one on him, and that made Luca confused. Luca just stared at Cooper until someone told the brunette boy to get on with it, in which Luca had no time to prepare for when Cooper kissed him, softly at first and then really hungrily. Luca didn't hesitate to kiss Cooper back though, and despite the pictures being taken of them, Luca just didn't care. He slightly pouted when Cooper pulled away and sat down again, he sat down too and began thinking about the kiss, why did Cooper kiss him hungrily? Why did Luca kiss him back.
Cooper shoved the thoughts of the kiss away for the rest of the night. It was the way he coped, or really didn't cope. He laughed and was normal the rest of the night as if nothing had ever happened. "I'm ready to go are you?" he asked Luca, producing his keys from his pocket in questioning. Coop ran a hand through his dark strands of hair after he stood up. Someone complained that he was leaving and he waived them off. None of these people actually cared if he was there or not.And sure enough after a few more drunken protests they gave up and went back to playing their game.
Luca was lost in thought, but at the sound of Coopers voice he snapped back into reality, he looked at Cooper, trying to process what the boy said, when he heard the drunken protests of whoever was around he understood finally that Cooper was asking if he was ready to leave. " Oh god yes, let's go," Luca said, one of the girls grabbed Luca's wrist, " Awe...can't you stay for a little while longer Kitten?" the girl asked. Luca visibly shivered at the nickname but gave the girl a smile, " Sorry, I can't let my friend go alone, he's my ride anyways," Luca said softly and the girl pouted. " Oh alright, I'll see you at school then Kitten," she said, Luca blushed.
Cooper raised a brow at the interaction. He merely chuckled and pulled on Luca's arm. "Come on, Kitten," he mused as he did so. Coop wound his way through the house and outside. Stepping out the door was like a harsh slap in the face from the cold air. Instantly his cheeks, nose, and ears became rosy. A curse from his mother. Nevertheless he began the walk to his car which was a little longer than he would have liked."When were you going to tell me and you and Cindy have a thing?" he joked with Luca. He found the whole thing very amusing. And thinking about that only helped suppress his other thoughts.
Luca followed Cooper outside, watching as his friends cheeks, nose and ears became a rosey colored pink, he smirked softly at that before realizing his friend had called him kitten a few moments ago, that made him blush a deep red. " Me and Cindy don't have a thing Cooper, and if you're jealous you shouldn't be, Cindy and I are just friends and she found out I have a kitten kink so she started teasing me with it," Luca answered as they walked the long walk to Coopers car.
Cooper gasped softly in feigned offense. "Kitten kink? My my shame on your for sexualizing little fluffy kittens, Kitty," he winked and shook his head. For the first time that night he smiled showing teeth. Normally this smile never came out unless around his best friend. When they reached his car he unlocked it and slid into the driver's seat. Immediately after turning it on he turned the heat up. "But I'm not jealous of Cindy. If anything I'm jealous of Mary. Did you see her eyeing you like a piece of meat?" he spoke and rubbed his hands together to warm them up.
Luca blushed when Cooper answered, and sighed softly knowing full well that he was going to be shamed for it, it wasn't his fault anyways, his ex-boyfriend had started calling him kitten when they were dating and the kink stuck with Luca. Luca busted out laughing when Cooper said he was jealous of Mary, he had noticed the girl staring at him before Cindy rudely went up to the girl and told her that he was gay. Luca smirked, " You got jealous of Mary? Awe Coop that's sweet little but you know I'll always belong to you," Luca replied with another laugh, he got into the passenger seat of Coopers car and looked at his friend. Luca was used to the cold, seeing as one of mothers boyfriend had locked him out of the house one winter and Luca was forced to stay outside in the freezing 10 degree weather with nothing but clothes and a jacket, of course the man was beaten to a pulp by his mother when she found out and he was arrested for attempted murder and child abuse. Luca shook his head and focused on Cooper, " Here give me your hands, I'm pretty hot and I can warm you up, and do not take that out of context," Luca said as he looked at his friend.
"Damn straight you're mine," he'd spoke with a small chuckle. Of course he was kidding and he had shared his best friend in the past when Luca'd have a boyfriend. He only found it amusing when girl's thought they could have a chance with the other male. "Luca I'm a teenage boy I take everything out of context," Cooper responded but still have his hands to Luca. "Ugh you're so warm. Curse my mother's cold genes," he murmured. Or maybe his father got cold often too. He didn't know because his dad had skipped out when he was a kid. Cooper didn't really remember him all that much luckily. He was finally starting to warm up with the heater and Luca.
Luca smiled and shook his head, he rubbed his hand's against Coopers, smiling as he looked at his friend, " Remember the day we first met?" Luca suddenly asked as he helped his friend warm up, he looked back down at Cooper's hands, his mind racing with many images of what those hands could do. ' STOP that! He doesn't like you in the same way, don't imagine things that will never happen' Luca thought to himself.
Cooper looked up to Luca's face and nodded. "Of course I do. How could I not?" he responded. Almost every single moment he'd spent with Luca was seared into Cooper's mind. Right now a particular recent moment kept coming up in his head despite him wanting it to not. Generally he was good at suppressing memories. But that kiss was a hard one to push away. Especially since his stomach was still knotting.
Luca smiled, " I'm lucky to have a boyfriend like you," Luca said, emphasizing the word boy so that Cooper didn't take it out of context, he then removed his hands from Cooper's, " That better?" Luca asked, looking at Cooper's before placing his hands on Cooper's ears to warm them up too.
"Yeah that's better," Coop had murmured. "I hope you know you're torturing me right now. You know I hate all of... this," he said, gesturing to the reddened parts of his face after Luca put his hands on his ears. But he wasn't complaining all that much. "Alright," he spoke and pulled his head from his friend's grip. "Let's get out of here," he stated and put his car in drive then pulled away from the curb. "Am I taking you to your house, my house, or am I going to your house?" he questioned. He was mostly just assuming their night wasn't over yet.
Luca just smirked, he then let his friend pull away and he wiped off hands of any sweat that had formed, he looked out the window and debated on where they should go, " Let go to my place, I doubt my mom will ask where we've been on a school night," Luca replied, his mom did care about them, she really did, she was just one of those moms that let her son"s" do what they wanted and didn't punish them unless they needed to be punished.
Coop nodded. He always had spare clothes and stuff in his car because he found he tended to be at home one night and spontaneously at Luca's the next. When he pulled up to Luca's he grabbed a backpack with clothes from his backseat and followed the path up to the door, unlocking it because he had a key on his keyring. He stepped inside and held the door open for Luca to do so also.
Luca got out when they reached his house, he followed Cooper up the path and entered the home, his mother on the couch crying because of some soap opera, he walked over to her and kissed her cheek, " Cooper's staying over," Luca said. " Alright, but no funny business in that room or one of you will sleep on the couch," Luca's mother said, she looked over at Cooper.
"Why are you looking at me? I'm an angel," Cooper stated, giving a sweet and innocent smile. At first he'd been concerned when they walked in and she was crying but when he saw the tv he knew nothing was truly wrong. Not many people knew he was bi. It wasn't necessarily a secret it just wasn't something he shouted out to the world because he didn't feel the need to. He knew the only reason Luca's mom knew was because he openly talked about it in front of her with her son.
She laughed, " Because I know you're the dominant one in the friendship, I know you can be pretty persuading," she said teasingly as Luca started blushing deeply, " MOM!" Luca said and grabbed Cooper's wrist, he yanked his friend up to his room and collapsed face first into his bed, " Why did I get stuck with the mom who's still stuck in her teenage phase?" Luca groaned.
Cooper chuckled. "Leave your mom alone. I like her," he responded. He sat on the edge of Luca's bed then fell back against the covers. He pushed his hair back and sighed softly. He was tired, having done a lot lately. Even he was surprised he'd actually wanted to go to the party that night.
Luca groaned, " You're supposed to be on my side here," Luca said pushing himself off. " I'm taking a shower, you need anything? And no you can not join me," Luca said as he shrugged his jacket off and then pulled off his shirt, he made sure to emphasize his last few words as a joke, knowing full well that if he actually meant it, it would probably, probably be impossible to say no to Cooper, ' I mean who can say no to that face? Not me that's who' Luca thought before shaking his head. Luca looked at Cooper, awaiting his friends answer.
Cooper chuckled, "are you sure I can't? What if I need to? What if showering with you is what I need to survive?" He sat up and looked to Luca, "but in all honesty I don't need anything and could possibly be sleeping by the time you get back." His hair stuck up in all sorts of ways from running his fingers through it without caring about his appearance.
Luca laughed, " If you really want to join me go ahead, I mean we've seen each other in the locker room before, and we had to shower together when we were younger at my old house, so I actually don't care, join me if you want Coop," Luca said before nodding at the part about where he might be asleep when he came back. Luca walked over to his dresser and opened one of the large drawers, he pulled out a pair of sweats, and a loose fitting t-shirt.
"Maybe another time," Cooper winked. He didn't know if he'd be able to control himself if he followed Luca to the shower right now. Not after that kiss today and how it woke so many feelings inside he didn't know he had. For now he was fine. But just imaging a confined space and their naked bodies was driving him crazy. He fell back again and let his eyes fall closed.
Luca snorted, he looked at Cooper and smiled, " Get out of your jacket first weirdo," Luca said as he walked to his bathroom, he sighed softly as he walked into the warm area, he felt safe in his bathroom. More safe then in his bedroom, he closed the door but didn't lock it, he never locked it, it was a habit of his after Cindy started barging into his house and bathroom every time she ran away from her abusive boyfriend. Luca couldn't break the habit, not when Cindy's boyfriend could break any day again.
Cooper shook his head. He didn't want to get up but he did. He pulled his jacket and shirt off then his jeans, trading them for soccer shorts he used in season. He crawled into Luca's bed, staying to one side, and shimmied under the covers, shivering under them until he sort of warmed up. He stared up at the ceiling, thinking about how he'd kissed Luca and it felt so good. So natural. Like it was something he'd wanted for a while.
Luca took his shower, got dressed and then walked back out to the bedroom, he saw Cooper staring up at the ceiling, " Hey, um, it's been bugging me since we got into the car earlier, but what the fuck was that kiss about? It was just a dare, yet you kissed me like you were about to lose me," Luca said as he came over and sat on the other side of his bed.
"I don't know what you're taking about, Kitten," Cooper responded. "It was just a dare. I figured if I was going to kiss you I might as well do it right, that's all," he added after words. That was the truth right? He wasn't lying to his best friend? He didn't know the complete truth so that's just what he went with. That was the truth for now. "Don't worry about it Luca. You're my best friend. You deserve a good kiss every once in a while," he grinned.
Luca listened to Cooper's answer and snorted, " You are such a fucking tease," Luca said as he got under the covers, he stretched a little, carefully not touching Cooper as he did so. " Oh and stop calling me Kitten, it turns me on and I'm pretty sure you don't want to see my erection," Luca said as he laid on his side, his back facing Cooper's.
Cooper smirked at the words. He rolled over and threw his arm around Luca's body. A low chuckle left his body as he gently pressed his lips to the side of Luca's neck. "You don't know what I want and don't want to see... Kitty," he murmured in his friends ear, teasing him. He gently pressed another kiss to his skin before scooting back over and flipping onto his stomach how he always slept.
Luca tensed up completely when Cooper's arm wrapped around him, his eyes widened and he winced at the kisses Cooper had placed on his neck, he frowned when Cooper suddenly moved away. " God damn it Cooper, I hate you so much," Luca mumbled, his voice visibly showing emotional pain, the way his friend was playing with his emotions like this hurt him more then ever. Luca tried his best to fall asleep.
Coop hadn't even heard what Luca had said. Almost the second he'd gotten into his stomach he fell asleep. That's how it always was though. When he woke in the morning he got up and showered. He had dreamed about Luca. In ways he'd never dreamed about the guy before. Stepping into the shower he forced the thoughts away. When he got out he pulled on black jeans and a white t shirt then went back to Luca's room.
Luca was wide awake when Cooper came back, he glared at his friend before standing and walking downstairs to where his mom was making breakfast, Luca didn't bother to say anything to Cooper. Luca bit his lip as he walked downstairs, entering the living room first before making his way to the kitchen, he found his mom at the stove, singing some pop tune by Taylor Swift.
