Task 50.1 Allison Ann's Task: Celebrating Birthdays

Three book task fusing birthdate to determine all three books.

My REAL Birthday is February 4 1953 and that is the date I am using for this task.

Book 1 MONTH

Read a book based on your birthday month ands choose two options to complete this portion of the task.

Since my birthday is February I chose a book that was published in February and that features an F in the first word of the title.

I chose FIND HER by Lisa Gardner, first published February 2016.

Find Her

Book 2 Day
Use the date of your birth to find a book on Goodreads whose rating corresponds to the day of your birth such as in my case 04.

I chose THIS LULLABY by Sara Dessen which had the GR rating of 4.04 when I chose it and was approved in the Help Thread at that rating. PS I checked it a few days ago an d it is still the same. :)

This Lullaby

Book 3 YEAR
Read a book based on the date of your birth subtracted by your age. Show your work.

Since my birthday is in 1953 and my age at the time I chose my book was 63 I subtracted my age from 1953. I realize we of a certain age could have read anything before 1917 I wanted to be precise.

So:
1953-63=1890

I chose a great book, Wilkie Collins' last called BLIND LOVE which he left unfinished at his death and was completed by someone else.

Since this book was originally published in 1890 I am claiming one GO Ticket for this task.

25.8 - Beth F's Task: Backwards Alphabet Code

D = W

Death at Victoria Dock by Kerry Greenwood

I read the Kindle edition. The most popular paperback edition has 164 pages.

White Collar Girl by Renee Rosen

I read the Kindle edition. The paperback edition has 448 pages.

164 + 448 = 612, more than 500

25.9 - Brooke TX's Task: Is It Ancient, or Just a Classic?

Option 1: My high school's Latin club had a mascot, Fluffus (a giant rabbit, sometimes emperor, sometimes legionnaire), who was featured on our yearly club T-shirts with a variety of catch phrases. Read a book whose title/subtitle contains a word of at least 4 letters that can be made from the letters found in "QUIS EST CAESAR TIBI NUNC?" Letters may only be used as many times as they appear. REQUIRED: State the word you are using in your post.

Murder on the Ballarat Train by Kerry Greenwood

Train - from "QUIS EST CAESAR TIBI NUNC?"

Option 3: In addition to these written tests, there's also the Certamen, which combines two nerdtastic pastimes - Latin Club and Quiz Team (for the record, I was an unashamed member of both) - into one epic nerdfest. Read a book whose author's first and last name initials can be found in CERTAMEN. If more than one author is listed, all authors' initials must be found in CERTAMEN.

Task 10.10 Got Your Lottery Ticket?

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of author Shirley Jackson's birth, read a book by Shirley Jackson, a biography of Shirley Jackson or a book with the main page genre of Horror.

Easy one for me! I am a Shirley Jackson fan but never read a biography about her so I picked SHIRLEY JACKSON: A RATHER HAUNTED LIFE by Ruth Franklin

Shirley Jackson: A Rather Haunted Life

I am also claiming a Big Book Ticket for this book as it is 624 pages as confirmed by the Goodreads page above for the edition I read.
