Birthday Bumps?

I was right. I wish I wasn't but I was. Do no read the first paragraph if you aren't comfortable with morbid death related stuff. Oh, and the title of this is very, very misleading.

Just to start the day, I had such a wonderful dream. In the dream, my friend Veronica's (too much Riverdale) father committed suicide by drowning himself in the sea 😶😶 We realized that he had killed himself and while we were mourning, his body came back, charred and leg torn apart at the ankle. What a beautiful way to wake up on my birthday! Dream about someone killing themselves in front of me just days before I plan to do it myself.

Well, I can't control my dreams so let's move on from that. We have a summer fest at school which is kind of hard to skip without breaking a bunch of rules. I must have told my friends a hundred times that my birthday was on the first day of the fest. I was supposed to be participating as the music group's guitarist, but they never got to auditions for their singers, nor did they practice. So instead, M and I decided to go to the collage contest. Guess when.....

I reached pretty early this morning because I don't know..... I just did. I must have waited for about five minutes before K came. She literally had no clue why I was dressed up in something new from top to bottom. She just said, "Hi Hallie! Let's go check out the auditorium", completely oblivious that it's my birthday. I stopped her and took off the box of chocolates I had brought and she still didn't realize until I opened the box and shoved one of them into her hands. She apologized, yes, but ummmm...... One of the reasons I want to kill myself is because of them. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't hope they tried to change my mind. Well, they didn't.

Then H2 came while we were standing outside, and she didn't remember either. M came and she forgot as well. When I gave them the chocolates, they said, "Hallie, you didn't tell us." Umm.... I literally shouted it and told them some fifty times last week. And for the record, S didn't need me to inform her about my birthday. They didn't need K to inform them about her birthday. Yes, I'm upset that they didn't remember. It seems trivial to a lot of people, but my birthday is the only day people acknowledge my existence, and seems like that day no longer exists. My existence is tantamount to that of a ghost. Iz didn't remember either, but fortunately B, who came pretty late, noticed my dress and wished me without me having to remind her that I was born. Then K asked for a treat and I couldn't resist these words: "You all forgot my birthday, and now you're demanding a treat." Just kill me please!

The rest of the day, I was mostly lonely until the competition, which didn't quite go well. And I nearly broke my nail again (as if one surgery wasn't enough). It was a crappy day. I turned 17; no one gives a damn. Even if I die, no one will give a damn.

Alright, positive? Well, I met an Irish actress today, but I don't know who the heck she is. K and M wanted to take selfies with the other actor, but I honestly had no clue who he was. I mean if that had been Emma Watson, I would have called this the best birthday ever even if I learnt that I flunked Math and Physics. And I ended up giving a treat to three of my friends from the bus, who were pretty sweet. At least they were there.

I got home and found that S and another friend from my old school posted stories wishing me on Instagram. I wish I had seen those first before seeing these *friends* of mine. K, M and I had taken a selfie, which I had joined only because it was my birthday, but now M uploaded her stories, and it looks like I don't even exist. Birthday girl doesn't qualify for their stories, I guess. How superficial are you problems, Hal? Well, yes, they're asinine, but can I get at least one day when I can shut the 'I wanna die' crap. Every. Single. Day. Iz wanted me to dress up and look like a girl and volunteered to even put some makeup on my face, and while I refused, I couldn't help but think what's the point.

At least I can die now.

Happy birthday, Hals! I can't believe you're 17 already...I don't know why it seems like such a big number...maybe it's because THAT MEANS YOU'RE GOING TO BE 18 SOON. OOOOOOO. I actually remembered your birthday and wanted to dedicate a post to you but my time on goodreads is limited these days (I went back to a few rps on hiatus and now I regret) Yesterday I was actually writing you a poem but its unfinished, I'll be honest with you :') You'll still receive it someday, though! Hopefully this week. I'm sorry I haven't dropped by either, but know that I miss you and care about you very, very much.
