I hope things will go smoothly but if everyone gets a happy ending then the book might as well be a paragraph. Defeating Maeve, killing erawan, Manon getting the wastes and both Aelin and Dorian being crowned would be amazing but its almost too good to be true.
I don't know I'm just trying to think of possible scenarios to be ready for the final showdown

That would normally be the case with anyone else (Dorian maybe) but Aelin is not someone easily satisfied. In EOS there were many hints about her becoming queen and the empress - I'm thinking maybe if/after she defeats Maeve she can also rule Doranelle with Rowan by her side who is also a prince but still theres just something missing
And I too have noticed what you said on the description of Tower of Dawn and am very curious to see what the hell the new twist is

As of now Chaols father still holds Anielle and even though he wants his son to come back he might chose a darker path and side with Erawan in hopes of getting more power. We already know his dad is not the nicest guy so I think its highly possible. The same could happen with Ansel.
Shes been a bicthy wicth since the start and wants nothing more than to be leader her self. Manons grandmother already sided with Erawan, whats to say Ansel isn't on the same side?
I definitely think Elide will have a more crucial role to play, she cant just have witch blood and have it mean nothing. We know that the most important witch is manon according to the prophecy and the constant hint about her eyes being full gold like Erawans instead of just frecked with gold like the rest of them.
I don't know if Elide will grow nails or have some special power (to be honest I found that the witches magic is kind of pathetic whats the point of calling them witches if all they can do is just blow themselves up? no spells? no powers? wtf) but theres still a mystery there - a good one too

I think Manon, Dorian, and company will be searching for the final key and battling Erawan's minions, while Rowan and his band of merry will be chasing Maeve. Meanwhile, Aelin will be subjected too all manner of torture at Caine's hands, much to the Queen Bitch's delight. I'm sorry. I love Maeve. She's such a great villain, much like Arobynn was.
It wouldn't surprise me if Hollin and the Adarlan Queen were collared, in which case if Dorian were to die there would be no one to rule Adarlan. It's my opinion that it'd be wonderful to see territorial lines shift or disappear. In this case, Aelin (supposing she survives) or Rowan absorb Adarlan with Terrasan. Honestly, it would serve the Adarlanian bigots right. Racism is NOT cool. It also kind of makes sense given Chaol is already the Ambassador for Terrasan to the Southern Continent. Foreshadowing? Perhaps.
For all we know, Manon may be carrying Dorian's child. Now wouldn't that be a twist?! It'd be one powerful kid.
I suspect battles will occur with Dorian and co and Aelin and co simultaneously on different continents.. Somehow (I don't yet have any definitive theories on this yet, there are too many possibilities) Erawan is banished/killed, then they all meet up again to finish off his armies. I still maintain the idea that Maeve is a goddess on Erilea, which is why she's so long lived.
As someone has said before, it's interesting to note that only Brannon's line has the so called bastard mark, yet Lorcan does not. Initially I considered it was because he's demi-fae, but that theory doesn't hold true, because Aelin is also demi-fae. Therefore, I think there's more to the mark than we've thus far been lead to believe. More than the 'Nameless is my price' thing too.
Also, damnit, maybe/hopefully we'll finally learn who the hell the King of Adarlan was! His identity has been kept secret for a reason.
I know there's much more, but my memory fails me.

They can heal her arm after being almost ripped apart and reset and create bones but they cant fix her ankle?
Same for chaol

Same with Elide why not just heal her ankle when they healed her arm?

(Sorry for incorrect grammar)

Having recently finished them I feel like there are many wholes in the story and sometimes re reading helps you notice things you didn't the first time.
I really hope Elide wont have to limp for the rest of her life

It's a good thing to reread them. There were many things I didn't noticed before.

I'm on Empire of Storms at the moment.

I hate the way Chaol is treated and don't buy into the whole Sorsha and Nesryn pity passes. I wish we had better closure with the boys and Aelin/Celeana.
The rest I could read again but I have to prepare myself mentally because I'm one of those people who liked Cealeana better than Aelin and even though I'm starting to be ok with the whole Rowalin thing, i found her romance with chaol much more romantic and having to read about its end (which was poorly done I'm my opinion) will be require having a chocolate cake and wine on stand by

"So while reading The Assassin and the Underworld after EoS, something caught my attention.
Remember when Cela..."
OR now having just finished TOD.........................
the cunning bird in that song could be the owl whom sits watch over Maeve whom we've discovered is actually a healer.

I think this would be pretty interesting, but while their worlds are similar and obviously connected in setting, I don't know if they're closely related enough to be able to meet...Maybe they're across the planet from each other. But I heard that people think one series came historically before the other series so they don't actually live during the same timeline.

Can you remind me of the "owl healer" you are referring to? I honestly don't recall an owl healer.

Oh my goodness! So many small details that actually mean something. All of SJM details are so important! You never know when they are going to come up as relevant! One of the many reasons that I love SJM writing--- she plans in advance which makes the whole story come together. I love it! Thank you for reminding me of this detail!
I finished the book today and found out that Maeve is a Valg queen and not really Fae! One of the biggest shocks I have read in ToD!!!!
