TOG #6 ~ Plot Theories

Do I really want to think about them? No! They leave me emotionally broken..
But here I am doing it anyways because I can't wait another year!!
Let's start with Aelin..
I think she's going to live. 'Why?' you might ask. After everything that we learn in EoS..How can I still have hope?
Simply because there's too many people depending on her. I can only imagine how devastated Rowan and Aedion and everyone else (including us..) would be if that happened. I don't think Sarah would do that..
BUT....Someone's gotta die!T.T (view spoiler)
I sure hope it's the latter..I would readily sacrifice Jeoffrey 2.0 to save my babies!! But the former seems like a more reasonable choice. God! Dorian's been one of my favourite characters since ToG but after everything that's happened, I don't think he'll accept the fate Aelin chose. I don't expect him to.He would rather do it himself..why shouldn't he?? He's just as powerful as she is after all. You're "maleness" is going to get you into a hella lotta trouble Dorian Xp
Moving on from the sadness..
There's OBVIOUSLY going to be more smut and badass fight scenes!
Maeve and Grandma Blackbeak NEED to DIE!!
Chaol is probably going to show up fully/partially healed with a frickin' army from the Southern continent!
We learn how Fenrys can winnow (do you think there's more like him?? Can Connall do it too??)
I hope they resolve the Aelin-Maeve arc in the first 150-200 pages because I thought Erawan was the major bad guy here yet he was barely there in EoS. It's kinda hard to believe that he's a powerful demon king that remains undefeated when all you know is that he's making creepy mutant hybrid monsters and shows up to mock the MC like once...
Also..does Aelin even have a limit to her powers?? Everytime throughout EoS they'd face something and Aelin would go all 'Oh! This is way beyond me...Wait..I have more powers..The well is deeper..' It makes it seem too easy.
And..I want an epilogue where everyone is happy and I mean EVERYONE!!
This turned into a more of 'what I want from the book' than 'what I think will happen'. But I don't think I could have been anymore coherent after what that ending did to me XD

I can't tell you how much I relate to that feeling! I want to sit here and make a bunch of predictions but I'm afraid to think too hard about what Sarah J Maas has in store for us... (most likely lots of heartbreak!!).

Aelin with future baby "eyas;" (idea of which I love :) )
or even Evalin with baby Aelin;
or other.

I think that it must represent Aelin because Lysandra has dark hair.

^^;;; Love what you're saying~~~
(view spoiler) .
so...I think that's all I have to predict *for now*, lol. Thanks for the great fun and sharing. :)

Rowan saves Aelin - that is a given and somehow Fenrys is released from his blood oath from Maeve and has one with Aelin
Somehow Maeve is defeated or dies before Aelin, Rowan and group return to their friends.
Manon has revenge against her grandmother for the death of her parents and helps the Crochan witches break the curse
Elide forgives Lorcan
Aelin reunites with her friends and continue to battle against Erawan
"Nameless is my price" will not end with Aelin's death but rather a joining of Aelin, Dorian and everyone's magic to seal Erawan. That amount of magic has to be enough to equal a life to please the gods to spare Aelin's life. Aelin's fire will be what seals it but everyone's magic will help so it won't kill her.
Dorian returns to Adarlan as king. Manon will be both Crochan Queen and Blackbeak Leader. The two of them are still a couple. All Witches return to their homeland. All enemies are either dead or punished.
Elide's uncle is living out his days in prison like how he kept her.
Elide and Lorcan travel to Perranth as Lord and Lady of Perranth. Lysandra and Aedion are a couple. Aedion has a friendlier relationship with his father, Gavriel who is now a member of Aelin's court.
Chaol is healed and returns to help fight and afterwards returns to Dorian's side as his adviser in Adarlan.
Series ends with Aelin being officially crowned Queen of Terrasen and plans to live happily with Rowan.
I deepest hope is that no major character dies. After reading Harry Potter 7, I can't handle that kind of despair. I love these characters and don't want them to die.

I think it's like you can't name the price that Aelin (or someone else) must pay in order to seal Erawan. I;m pretty sure it's like meaning that someone will have to die for the greater good.
I seriously hope that helps, although i wouldn't be surprised if it didn't!

That would be something Aelin would do but yeah we can dream.

It's a promise made between Elena and the gods that because of Elena's mistake, Brannon's blood/heir will be payment/key to seal Erawan for good. To sum up "Nameless is my price" means that the Galathynius line will end with Aelin after she gives her life to seal Erawan.

OML thank you so much! that explains a lot.

Thank you so much!

I agree with you 100%. In HoF and QoS, I totally shipped ROwaelin. although i still ship them now, Rowan's starting to sort of remind me of Tamlin... And that is NOT a good thing. I swear, watch Aelin end up with, like, Fenrys or Gavriel... I swear, I can feel a major plot twist with Aelin's love life coming on.

It's a promise made between Elena and the gods that because of Elena's mistake, Brannon..."
Yep yep! Nameless is also the title of a bastard among the Fae, allegedly. The unwanted. The nameless. And since Brannon was a Fae bastard, and the founder his own house, the wyrdmark on Aelin's brow means nameless--it represents her bloodline, and the promise/price she is to the gods.
Nikita, I luv this idea of yours way mucho much. :) LOVE it.

"So while reading The Assassin and the Underworld after EoS, something caught my attention.
Remember when Celaena went to Adarlan's Theater? Well, I'm quoting here:
'The music annihilated her.
The dancing was breathtaking, yes, and the story it told was certainly lovely–a legend of a prince seeking to rescue his bride, and the cunning bird he captured to help him do it–but the music.'
Who is the Prince? Our beloved Rowan Whitethorn
Who is the bride? Our suffering Queen Aelin
And who is the cunning bird? My guess is Vaughan, one of the members of the cadre from whom we know next to nothing and whose animal form is an osprey."
I feel that this is totally believable. What do you guys think?

1.- Rowan saves Aelin (or Aelin saves herself just because she´s friking badass and she can) whatever, the thing is, come on, she always has a card under her sleeve. I do believe Meave is a bitch, but I´m sure as hell Aelin has already thought of a way to get free from Meave. Also, what if she thinks that there´s a special reason to come back to Wendlyn? What if there´s another piece of information in Mala´s temple or in Brannon´s original homeland?
2.- Dorian will have to be the one that face Erawan, why? Because the thing here is that Erawan´s pain in the ass has always been Gavin... and Dorian is his heir. Also, the mistake is Gavin´s and Elena´s. And... since Brannon was Meave´s pain in the ass and his heir is Aelin, she will have to face the Dark Queen.
3.- I sound like a jerk but if someone with Mala´s blood has to die,... Hollin is hella much expendable.
4.- I think Gavriel is going to die in order to someway save Aedion from whatever thread.
5.- The demi-fae in Wendlyn will ally with Aelin.
6.- Tears, tears, tears, but I can bet that Conall will die. Fenrys has given up to himself in order to make things go easier for his twin, I think that in battle or just under Meave´s torture, when Fenrys is close to die, Conall will sacrifice for him, for the brother who gave all for him.
7.- Fenrys would like to do the blood oath to Aelin but she will never let that happen just cause she knows that Fen needs to be free, and wild and to really live and may be fall in love. So she will tell him that if he wants to be part of his court, he can, but under his free will and with no blood oath just because she trust him that way.
8.- May be Fen and Asterin? Both young and beautiful, both wild, both savage.... why not?
9.- Aedion will forgives himself, forgives his dad and he will understand that there´s no reason to hate Lys.
10.- No way Aedion can die!
11.- Elide will forgive Lorcan and if he survives... they will be together just like the gods who has blessed them during all their lifes.
12.- Can Elide, please, receive some trainning? It´s cool that she´s so smart but a little of self-defense knowledge wouldn´t kill her. Also, I would like her foot healed.
13.- Manon and Dorian will continue having fun together (never mind if just is sex for now, may be they can fall in love later, may be not)
14.- The bitches will die: Meave, Momma Blackbeack, and Rosamere or that old Rowan´s lover.
15.- Lorcan will turn Vernon in itty-bitty-pieces during a long long time.
16.- I don´t know in this, I have to options
a) Aelin still lives but she gives up her inmortality, so Rowan does it too. That could be good cause their offspring will be something to fear really. Power can corrupt the souls and may be that would be a good way to ensure the equilibrium with other countries or empires.
b) Rowan and Aelin have a very happy and very inmortal ending with offspring, but at some time, they decide to leave the country to their childs so they can rule and he could take Aelin to see the world and to have adventures all around the earth.
PD: In both cases I think that they will have 2 children: a boy and a girl, perhaps twins (too much mention of twins being weird among fae, so why the weirdest and strongest fae in the world can´t breed them?) The boy will rule Terrasen and the girl I´m sure as hell will merry Dorian´s son. Perhaps if Rowan and Aelin win Doranelle, the children will have to rule over Doranelle, or perhaps they will leave it to the Whitethorn family to rule as a gratitude gesture for fighting in Aelin´s side and because, as heirs of Mora, that will be pretty much fair. Also, as twins, they will be carranam. The boy will merry Aedion´s and Lyssandra´s daughter or Lorcan´s and Elide´s daughter. For me whatever is good cause... come on, just imagine Aedion or Lorcan territorial with his baby girl cause the prick´s son is in loved with her. (In Lorcan´s case, just imagine Elide and her daughter bossing him all the time... so much funny to me)

For most western cultures, second cousins marrying is legal, but culturally it kinda raises brows, and any children can still have possible birth defects. But third cousins are even less related, so... Idk. also rowan and aelin are distantly related, but they're still together.

* Dorian and Manon to be happy. Dorian has always been my favourite and made me swoon since his first appearance. Dorians magic to become of more variety, if not more powerful than Aelins.
* I dont want this but i think that Gavriel or Fenrys or Aedion (I HOPE NOT AEDION) will die trying to save Aelin. If Gavriel dies then Aedion will forgive him and it will be emotional.
* I know there are a lot of magic holders but i was expecting Elide to have an outburst of magic when Fenrys and Gavriel were fighting Lorcan. I was excited to see her witch side to come out.
* I hope Lorcan is forgiven by Elide but i personally dont want them to be mates. (please dont get mad)
* I think Ansel may die but Ilias will. I want to see more about Ilias because i loved him in Assassins Blade.
* Lysandra is just amazing, keep her
* I hope Chaol comes back stronger and his relationship with Aelin is fixed. He will also have to survive and stay with Dorian.
* I do like Rowan but i feel he can be a bit too overpowering and protective (i know they are mates and all) but there is something about him that frustrates me.
These are some things that i think will happen and what i want. I also still think that Dorian and Aelin have a hint of jealousy towards each other because of feelings ;P I SHIP THEM STILL.
I just dont want too many deaths. Sams death was enough to shatter my heart.
LAST OF ALL: I WANT AELIN TO BE A BIT MORE CELAENA IN THE LAST BOOK.

Some take Aelin's side others take Erawan's and have an epic battle were Aelin or Rowan to pay Deanna back for that stunt she pulled.
I also hope that Maeve gets dealt an impossible hand in return for the one she dealt Aelin but at that point I honestly and I hate this but I think Fenrys or Gavriel will have to die. This will hopefully bring Fenrys brother into the mix or make Aeodin forgive his father.
Lorcan and Elide should definitely be mates, they would be a great couple but Lorcan has a lot of redeeming to do.
I think Illias will totally work out Aelin's scene but still help and fingers crossed the silent master shows up and is the bad ass we all know he is.
Ansel is another person I really want to see more of, this is were Connal could come in. They would be an interesting combination.

It would be so cool for the Silent Master to have his own demon-fighting scene.

I think it's like you can't name the price that Aelin (or someone else) must pay in ord..."
No, that's no it, though it's a good theory :)
I believe it's actually a statement with a hidden meaning. You see, the Wyrdmark on Aelin's brow is called 'nameless', so in 'Nameless is my price' nameless refers to Aelin, and remember when stupid, stupid Elena made the mistake so long ago, she asked what the price was to her mistake? I think that 'Nameless is my price' means that Aelin is actually the payback to the gods for Elena's mistake. That's why she was puking in EoS, she realised she was the price, thus she must be sacrificed, so that's why after that, she married Rowan, (T.T), giving Terrasen a legal king, because she knows she won't make it.
That's what I think though. Different opinions are welcome!

If anyone dies I really hope that its Lorcan. I HATE HIM!!!!!

* Dorian and Manon to be happy. Dorian has always been my favourite and made me swoon since his first appearance. Dorians magic to become of more variety, if not more powerf..."
I like your ideas, but I feel like the ending won't be that perfect, although how awesome would that be?!

"Nameless" Is the mark of Brannen. The mark of the bastard born. Aelin is Brannen's heir. And Elena, Brannen's daughter ruined the plans that the gods had to return to their home. So the gods said that an heir of Brannen/Mala must give up their power to forge the lock to give allow them to go home. "The Queen that was promised."
"Nameless is my price" comes up alot. Baba yellowlegs says it. Lorcan(I think) states that Maeve says it as well.

I think this will come back in the last book. But who/what is the White Barn Owl that was sitting on Maeve's Chair during Heir of Fire?

1. We find out more about Maeve and who she is. I think Maeve is more than just Fae. Why is she not afraid of Erawan? What does she want with the Keys? I would assume the Maeve knows about the Gods/Goddess how is she not afraid of them? I mean she has barely been in the series up until the last few chapters of TOG5. But she is such a Main character. And I think most of us hate her more than Erawan at this point.
2. Dorian's father comes back somehow. They never found a body. I would assume he is dead. But I have learned to never assume they are dead if there is no body and even sometimes if there is a body.
3. I think we will have 3 major obstacles in the book. Fight against Maeve, Erawan, and the Gods. I think that we have scenes with Maeve and Aelin and learn many new things. Possibly get the last key. Aelin gets rescued, but Maeve still has the key. She reunites with her friends. Somehow they take out Maeve and Erawan together and then somehow with no one dying they destroy the gods/send them somewhere. Or Dorian dies.
4. Elide is going to come into her own in this book. She will develop into a kick ass character, more so than she already is. Possibly the witch traits start coming out, now that magic is back.
5. Chaol comes back and we have some drama go down in Terreasan with Lysandra-Aelin.
6. All of the Demi-Fae in the strongholds around Doranelle come to Aelin/Terreasen's aid.
7. All of the Lords and such that Celeana faked their deaths come back to pay their life debts.
8. I bet many will die in this book. I just hope it is no one in Aelin's cadre or Aelin herself.
9. And of course there will be many tears and we will be ruined throughout the book but hopefully rebuilt by the end.

What I mean is, even though I'm plain human myself, and humans are an integral part of Erilea, I do hope that it's the magic wielders, the Fae, the witches (13 and the Crochans), the hybrids that save the world. Not humans. Only because I dislike Darrow and despise what he said about 'men make their own light, and win their own battles, and magic failed the men of this continent.' I think it would be fitting for the magic-wielders to get the accolades, just to spite what Darrow said,
and also because I for one felt like it was the human mortals that failed their fellow magical beings on their continent- exploited, hunted and enabled the slaughter and terrorizing of their own countrymen (countryfolk?) and their fellow human magic wielders. if that makes sense.

-I don't think any one will die.
-I DEFINITELY don't think Aelin will die.
-I think if someone does die, it will be Fenrys or Gavriel, someone from the squadre. :(
-Hopefully, everyone can have a happy ending and go on to rule all their kingdoms and be happy and magic and stuff.
Ok, I vote that we start preparing for ToG6 by assuming
everyone
is going to die the worst, saddest way possible. That way, when we get to the point where people die, we'll still be sad, but also grateful that at least someone survived.

That's a good strategy, lol. prepare for the worst. I'll do it.
If my poor heart can handle it.
Yes. Good. Sarah has said the only guaranteed survivor of the series is Fleetfoot.
