"Oh, that's good, about there being no permanent damage. You could have broken your back," Molly said, though she had no idea how tall the tree had been, or how far up she'd been.

"That might have taken longer than a week to heal fully," River said. "I'd have to ask my brother how long it took him to heal. But all of my siblings heal faster than I do," River said, not thinking about censoring any of her comments. She was used to the open nature of this world by now.

Molly tilted her head in curiosity. "You healed really fast anyway," she said, wondering how it was so. But she supposed it would be sort of rude to ask exactly why. Or maybe it wasn't. She wasn't sure how things worked here.

"Perks of being a vampire, I suppose," River said, hopping up onto the counter.

"Must be nice," Bo said, shaking his head.

Molly's mouth formed a small o briefly when she understood. It was sort of cool; she'd never met a vampire before. "Are you not a vampire too?" she asked Bo, since she thought they were related. Hadn't one of them said?

"Me? No, I'm not," Bo said. "I'm a- uh..."
He had never told anyone what he was and wasn't sure simply saying wolf was the right way to put it.

"A shifter," River finished for him. "I can do that too," She teased.

"Oh? That's cool. What can you shift into?" Molly asked, hopefully not sounding too eager to know, though she was. She'd not met shifters before, but she knew of them, and they fascinated her.

"I would say anything, but I haven't tried a lot. I prefer being a bat. Which is a vampire cliche, I know," River told her.

Molly laughed a little. "There's nothing wrong with a bat. They can fly and I can't so that's cool enough I think."

"She stays green, although I don't know if that's intentional," Bo said. "Is it?"

River shrugged. "It's my natural hair color. I see no point in changing it, at least I haven't yet."

"Do you think you could do that without dye or anything?" Molly asked, since she thought that was curious. But she also hadn't guessed that the green was...natural. How interesting. "That would be so cool! But the green is already really cool."

"I could try," River said. "My dad can do it. But he's had loads of practice."

"Maybe it's just something you can do when you're older and more experienced. It seems like a lot of things are like that," Molly said, since her own powers were like that. "What about you, what can you shift into?" she asked Bo, since she was curious, and he'd been sort of quiet. She didn't want him to feel at all left out.

"Oh, I turned into a wolf," he told her, scratching his head.

"That's super cool too!" she told him. "Are you big wolf, or like a normal sized wolf? Because I heard werewolves can be super big, but that's not necessarily what you are."

"She like your dad," River laughed.

Bo shook his head at the strangeness of it all.
"Regular, I guess? People typically underestimate the actual size of wolves."

"Yeah, I bet. I've never seen a real wolf, only pictures. So I'm sure I wouldn't really know the difference," Molly admitted. "But still, that's cool. I can't turn into anything, so it's fascinating."

"They are pretty large," Bo told her. "It's interesting to be able to do. I am still learning though. I haven't been at it for very long."

"Oh really? It isn't something you could just do?" Molly asked, her head tilting a little in curiosity. Though she imagined a baby that could shift into a wolf could be quite the handful for a mother.

"I guess it was a coming of age thing that was dormant until puberty," he explained. "At least that's how my dad puts it."
It was true that Bad never had to deal with this so Bo was sure he'd always be more hassle than he was worth.

"Interesting," Molly said. She could only think that it was one more thing to add to the 'your bodies are changing' speech that was already too long as it was. "

"It's not so bad though. You're going to school now to learn how to control it and survive in the universe," River told him supportively.
"How old are you Molly?" She said, hopping off the counter.

"I just turned fourteen," Molly answered, and meant just as in the previous few weeks. Less than a month, though she couldn't think the exact time right then.

"Just older than me. I'm nearly there. I should have started school sooner but my grandma made me wait," River huffed slightly. "No worried though. I am here finally and I plan on enjoy all six years unlike some people."

"Oh really?" Molly asked, more curious about who River meant when she referred to 'some people'. It sounded pointed, though she couldn't be sure to who since...she knew absolutely no one.

"My sister tested out early. Along with some of her friends. She's a teacher now but still. I have waited sooo long to get to come here for real." River explained.

"I was invited," Molly answered, unaware that rescued was an option. But that was definitely not descriptive of her.

"Well that's good. It means you aren't necessarily running from anything," River said cheerfully.

"Yes, that is always a good thing," Molly said with a small laugh. "But I do need help with my abilities, so I guess I'm running from making a mess."

"That seems like a good reason," River said. "What can you do?"

"I'm...sort of an oracle in training," Molly explained. "But I can't exactly do it right. It only works in my drawings right now."

"So you can tell the future?" River inquired.

"More or less," Molly said, considering how to explain it. "I can't see the future, usually, but if I draw something like a scene, it will transform into what it will look like at some point in the future."

"That's so cool! Does it always work?" She asked.

Molly nodded. "Yep, always. But sometimes it doesn't look like it because the scene might not actually change at all," she explained. "But that's rare."

"So everytime you draw a scene... wow," River said. "Could you show us?"

"I could, but it takes time to develop," Molly answered. "And that could take a couple of hours. It's not immediate."

"It would still be interesting," River said with a shrug. "Have you already sent your things to your dorm?"

Molly nodded. "I did, so all of my art stuff is in there. I don't usually carry it around since the charcoal is messy."

Bo thought it sounded pretty cool. "Did you want to see your room?"

"Yeah, definitely," Molly said and smiled a little. "Should we go see now?"

River walked toward the hallway. "I think they are this way," she said.
Bo nodded and smiled at her warmly. He liked her because she was nice.

Molly returned the smile and then followed after River, figuring the other girl knew where she needed to go, and she was fairly sure it was right.
