What are you reading in November 2016?

I am currently listening to Rise of Empire, the sequel in the Riyria Revelations. I'll listen to Heir of Novron soon, but before that, I'm going to listen to a book called The reluctant Dom for a book discussion club with friends. I'll see if I'm going to finish it, I'm a little reluctant, too, but the friends, the group, and the discussions are always fun, so I'll give it a go (and my friend gifted it to me). That's the first week of November covered, I guess. :D I'm reading 'Omni' (a German scifi book) for yet another book discussion group, as well as 'Das Erbe der Wintersteins' for another club. After that, I'm going to read DNA And I don't know yet what I'll read/listen to afterwards.

I'm into Theft of Swords. I think I have Escape from Hell up after that. Haven't planned beyond those 2 books.

Finished Caliban's War, second Expanse book
It was pretty good, not perfect but enjoyable

With all the wackiness I decided to read Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right

I'm reading The Stars My Destination and planing to read either Lovecraft Country or The Subtle Knife after that.

I just finished reading The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet and absolutely loved it!! It is complete in itself but the characters continue in a second book. I strongly recommend it; no major battles anywhere!! Now I'm moving on to Dogsbody

I read Angry Planet a few months ago, and I agree that this is a really satisfying read. I just finished the second book, A Closed and Common Orbit, which has some overlapping characters and may be even better. Definitely recommend!

I went to pick up my kindle to continue with The Very Best of Kate Elliott, but it was out of battery and I was feeling too lazy to get up and plug it in or look for something else, so I grabbed the next book that was waiting on my nightstand, The Secret Place by Tana French. I've LOVED each of her Dublin Murder Squad books (this is #5) and so far this one is very good but not quiiiiite up to par with the first 4. Still can't put it down, though!

I've also been working my way through the Unwind series and am about to pick up the third book, UnSouled, when I finish the Tana French. Then it's probably back to Deverry!

I have not been reading as much as I thought and will have to postpone Escape from Hell to later in the month. When I finish Theft of Swords, I will be reading our next Deverry Cycle book, The Red Wyvern.

I was about halfway through Dark Money and the US election went into a strange place. Ended up putting it away because it was a drag reading it and sort of living it.

Started a Rebus Mystery, The Naming of the Dead

I am not sure whats on deck next. Getting a cataract removed next week and not sure about the glasses situation. Will probability pull out the ereader and read something on that

I'm currently reading the latest book of the Throne of Glass series, Empire of Storms, which is good but a bit of a filler book at 70%. It's a very good story, I'm not sure about the increase in romance though.

Next is Paper and Fire, the second installment of The Great Library series, I hope it is up to par with its predecessor.

A YA break in between Midnight Tides and The Bonehunters (along with The Wars of Light and Shadow, Malazan is rapidly becoming a favorite. Guess I have a thing for complex epic).

Well, if Malazan and TWoLaS are two of your faves, I'd say you do.

Well the cataract procedure wasnt all that bad. I was able to read pretty much immediately. So I finished the Rebus book, Naming of the Dead. Pretty good.

Started Victory of Eagles

:D you're right I fear. I'd like to try other series that can compare to those, once I'm done with Malazan.

I've also read Hero, the last instalment and conclusion (yes, "end...for now" but with a strong conclusion flavour) of Salvatore's Drizzt saga. Satisfying.

I have some Salvatore books on my shelf--picked up at our local used book store--but have yet to read any of them. You would recommend him as an author?

I have some Salvatore b..."

I would wholeheartedly recommend him if you are looking for sword and sorcery/d&d quest-like stories. In the genre, he's one of the best I've read, he can write great action scenes and character-driven drama. His earlier books are from the '80s, but they're very good, too.
My personal favorite is The Dark Elf Trilogy, which is the first trilogy of Drizzt's saga in chronological order.

I finished Symbiont (which I enjoyed) and moved on to Radiant which I just finished. I am looking forward to finishing the first trilogy and moving on to the second book of the Radiant trilogy. I recommend both books (thanks Justine!!). Next up is Way Down Dark

I finished the Unwind series last night - the YA dystopia genre gets stale sometimes, but this series was excellent, IMHO. I have some Kate Elliot short stories I've been picking at, then I'm going to catch up on some Kate Daniels books on my kindle, starting with Magic Steals!

Hello, newbie here.

I am still reading Stories of Your Life and Others by the amazing Ted Chiang - his stories need time to read and ponder, maybe that's why I am so slow in finishing this one.

And since I am watching BBC's Dirk Gently, I try getting back to the trilogy by reading The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul. It was not as fun as the first one, as I recall. I hope I don't have to lem it.

I ended up abandoning Way Down Dark; I'm not interested in gang wars on a generation ship. I moved on to Good Morning, Midnight which I did finish, but have mixed feelings about. I really don't like a lot of flowery, descriptive prose and skimmed over much of this. Also, I really do like for my books to have an ending...Next up is Sleeping Giants
